I'm suprised more batters dont throw bats at the pitchers. Some of this tit for tat shit is ridiculous but it was a slow curve so if it was intentional, it's a free bag. High near the head, then it's a bit more justified. The showboating can be done by both sides without people getting hurt. Baseball can be boring so if you cant celebrate a big HR or a big strikeout, then the game gets even more dull. Other sports have celebrations without 100mph balls being thrown at heads... .

Deric DuBose Teammates defend each other, so, some of the astros most likely thought that he could’ve just taken an outside line. It might not have been on purpose to run the catcher over, but he knew that they were going to get him back for that. Usually hitting a batter with a pitch like they did is a way to get even. As a former pitcher, I can confidently say not once did I ever get upset at someone showboating against me. All it did was give me motivation to be better and smarter against the next batter. Also never hit anyone intentionally. I'll never understand that "old school payback" bs.

Scuzzithree he went inside because almost all the time the play at home is outside on the foul side of the line, he went inside to try to avoid the tag but the catcher stayed inside too. Marisnik was trying to avoid a tag by not being where the catcher thought he would be but it didnt work. The dude felt terrible about it, its not like he wanted to hurt him. Of course hes going to he low, hes diving for the plate, he didnt “lower his shoulder” into him to hurt him.

@@shutitdownnow0676 it does matter. It's called normal baseball in the running lane. He decides to go inside and once he sees catcher there what do u want him to do? Open his face up? Go run into something and let me know if u just let your face hit it or if u lower it under ur shoulders to let ur shoulders hit. Its human protective instincts

Michael Krautner why would a catcher take the outside? not saying he meant to knock him out cold but marisnick had the outside lane easy, probably would have been safe too. i respect marisnick for taking it as well as he did, and i don't really believe in intentionally hitting a batter, but after he fucked up Lucroy that bad? yah expect a fastball up and in.

Marisnick didn't break any rules. (Written or not) What happened was a misread. It happens. The way he reacts to his HBP is pure class. Knew he didn't deserve it, but knew it was coming, and still wore it right. Moments like that are why I love baseball.

The Marisnick one really bothers me because the hard collision at home plate on the slide was very unintentional, but of course the Angels have to carry on and make it a big deal by later hitting him. It's ridiculous. Props to Marisnick for dealing with the whole situation like a true man.
