I’m pretty tall I’m like 5.9 at 10 years old so I’m not sure how the feeling is, but I’m happy you did reconsider because it sound like a painful experience

I would break all of my bones, I would sell everything, I would even give up my entire family and friend group just so I can get taller, I know it's a little bit selfish. But being short is the most painful thing in live, I'd rather go back to the time my teacher did unspeakable thing, than still be short! It's not fair that I am this short! I got bullied and mocked for being short which made me so insecure. I did everything. I took supplements, listened to subliminals, did swimming and stretched but nothing worked. I'm a girl,18 years old and 149cm tall. I hope society will stop judging us and accept us for our personality Edit : okay I saw someone asking about how tall are my parents my mom is 5' and my dad is 5'8,and yes I grew up without proper nutrition and was under weight because my parents neglected me when I was a kid. The average height for a female in my country is 5'2. Just don't go around bullying people even if they're tall or short or based on their skin colour.

I am very short and honestly I would have done that surgery if I had money when I was younger. Literally my whole youth was affected by hight. I had nobody around me for 26 years and people are having the time of their life at that age. And I am super sure that I were taller my youth and my life would have been not only so much easier but more fun. I have a good personality but i do not have like AMAZIG carisma to the point that height does not matter and it really really sucks. You are saying that this is risky. But if you are not happy with your life forever because of height, I do think that it is more risky not to do the surgery.

The difference between height and weight is that you can change weight naturally. (And you should) But height is pretty much impossible to change, even with this surgery, it takes a very long time AND costs a lot.

Sometimes they joke that I'm too short, saying that "What is it big sis? Even the young ones are taller than you. Isn't it kinda embarrassing?" I mean... It hurts my feelings, but cuz i don't wanna create any scene, I just stay quite, ignore or laugh it off. But as you said, it makes me sick too.

I am a girl of 5.11 and I am in 10 class one of the tall kids in my class 😑 and believe me it sucks to be that tall

I'm currently undergoing this procedure for my lower limb discrepancy (~6cm). I've been with my fixator for the last two months and it's as painful as you can imagine. I had some complications though (neuropathy while lenghtening the leg, and soon after the whole apparatus decided that it was time for it to literally move and put itself in a different position). Hope any of y'all won't have to experience this

I want to be a pilot but i can't because of my height(153cm). I have thought about this procedure a lot but my parents didn't have enough money. So i decided not to. Now I am planing to become a doctor. Sometimes it's not just societies thinking it's also about whether it is practicable or not

As a petite girl, I love being like this. It is normal, it is usual. There is no rule that says everybody should over that height. Exactly many people judge sometimes but I have never take their words seriously as I like my height. I would not harm my own body for others words.

It sucks to get picked on and/or bullied in school about height. I would know. But I would never break my own bones

I wish everyone would understand that everyone is human, everyone has rights. Sometimes we should not take people’s word as an offense to us, as it makes the society worse then what it is. People should also learn that bullying others just affects themself. I honestly don’t take others word as offense as I learnt to deal with people who bully. I have a friend who's left leg is way longer than his right leg, so for him this procedure was quite useful... but painful too.

I had similar surgeries to repair severe damage. The recovery took years, and it was painful. I have ridiculous pain every winter thanks to the (now healed) fractures. Please don't do this to yourselves!

I was 17 and 5.4 in my secondary school when I was teased by my friends because I was short. But I never felt anything until the girls of my class called me by that name. I was very much upset and worked for a year and got 4 more inches added to my height. Now here's a tip to all who want to add some inches to their height : 1) don't go for any artificial way like injecting HGH for straight 6 to 7 to 8 to whatever months you will take to grow ur height as it has some bad side effects. 2) don't go for any surgery as Agon told u what are the bad things behind the surgery. 3) After u wake up , do a bit stretches for 1/2 an hour (you might get a chart of stretches for height on google) After stretching, hang on a bar by keeping ur body lose for 30s or a minute. After ur morning routine u may also hang on the bar 2 to 3 times a day (morning - afternoon - evening) to boost ur height. And I swear no one can stop ur height from growing. ☺ 4) Most imp tip; LOVE UR SELF 🥰🥰

Height is mostly genetically predetermined. The only way for you to actually grow taller than the typical standard for your family is to either to take HGH shots or alternatively hope to be a late bloomer. Also - anecdotal evidence isn’t credible.

@@kln.b5631also if we do a bit skipping, running, jumping squats etc can increase ur height to some instinct as these activities cause minor fractures in our body which heal up adding to ur height

Ur probably a late bloomer, exercises just help to get a healthy body. You would have probably grown up to the same height even if u didn't workout

@@mathewgeorge3785 Exceptions do not make up the rule. Height has “mostly” to do with your genes, yet there are rare cases of people becoming taller than their parents. (That’s for sure.) I won’t get into the “stretching” myth, since as of posting this comment I am not aware of any credible study or paper providing any sort of analysis in favor of your argument.

coming from a _very_ short person, i will NEVER be willing to do this. Both being tall and short has their own benefits and even disadvantages. If you want to get taller, then just follow some tips. Patience is the key.. It's just so sad how society is so toxic that they can trick you into thinking things will get better if you do that or this when really, they are all the same

I use to be short and used to hangout with my younger cousin under the family table. Now, I'm taller and I couldn't fit under the table anymore. I was my favorite spot because it's dark, so watching videos felt like I was watching a movie with my cousin.

Well , I'm not even 5 , I'm just 4 feet 9 which actually makes me the shortest girl from 7th to 9th grade in my school . I'm kinda popular in my school because of my extracurricular activities but no one understands that not just my batchmates but also my juniors and even the teachers make fun of me I try to adjust everything which goes with my height but i still have to face so many things apart bullying as well Everyone in my family and school forces me to gain height by exercising but my height growth has been stunt from 2 years I have accepted the fact that it's my height , and if it wants , it would grow And even if it would not The world doesn't end

@@Droplets712 yeah girl I understand....my parents used to tell me about different exercises to increase the height and I used to feel really bad ..... but now if they try to do so , I just tell them that I’m okay with my height I’ll do things to remain healthy but not to increase height in particular.

@@Droplets712 people always act as if it’s our fault and that we should work harder, luckily though my parents don’t force me to increase my height and just want me to be healthy, also I have wide feat and legs so I just have to wait till puberty then I’ll probably be about average height maybe a bit lower, but I’m fine with that as long as people ignore my height and see me for who I am

But then, as time past I realised that being short is not that bad. U can reach short places easily without needing to bend down and just to get something from the lower place. I am very short and honestly I would have done that surgery if I had money when I was younger. Literally my whole youth was affected by hight. I had nobody around me for 26 years and people are having the time of their life at that age. And I am super sure that I were taller my youth and my life would have been not only so much easier but more fun. I have a good personality but i do not have like AMAZIG carisma to the point that height does not matter and it really really sucks. People are saying that this is risky. But if you are not happy with your life forever because of height, I do think that it is MORE risky not to do the surgery.

U don't need to change yourself in order to fit in or to not get bullied by others but rather change your society by doing something extraordinary. that's what everyone need to understand.

If this was a more refined surgery that was more affordable and I had the means to take the time off I would consider it. If you believe height doesn't matter you are wrong.

I am a nineteen year old who is only 4 ft 11 inches, so i think i am capable of answering Agon's question well. No, I wont get this surgery done even after being this short. Yes, its true that I have been bullied a lot for my height but honestly saying its not ur height that matters its ur personality that matters. The moment I started accepting my height, I became more positive abt it n when someone tried to pull my confidence down by making fun of my height I took it lightly and laughed with them n just told them I find my height cute. idk y everyone just appreciated this behaviour and now most of my bullies are my friends. I have come to a point where I have accepted myself completely and most people appreciate me for this attitude. For all the short ppl out there, just accept urself the way u r. Yes its true that guys with a good height are at a greater advantage of making a good impression, but for a long term relationship i dont think that height matters. what matters more is the guy's behavior, his respect towards women etc etc. So if u r someone who has been rejected on the basis of ur height even after being 5'11(which according to me is very good), then consider urself lucky cuz u definitely deserve someone who sees ur inner beauty and not ur outer appearance

I remember My Maths Teacher Explaining Us "Sets" By Giving An Example Regarding Everyone's Height And Told Us That Height Is Not Well-Defined Which Inspired Me A Lot And I respect That!!

I'm 14 and I want to increase my height. I'll tell you the method I used and I've already increased my height significantly. I increased the seat of my cycle by quite a lot and started cycling everyday stretching my legs and pedaling. Also playing basketball helps me a lot

I understand why some people would genuinely want to get this procedure done, lots of people are insecure about their heights if they are shorter than the average human height, I’m kinda short too but not insecure enough about my height to waste 75-200k dollars to only grow like a couple inches, but some people want to get the surgery to become taller and we have to support them if they wanna do that, not criticize them for it.

I mean if the person is willing, have money, time allocated for it to heal and other required needs in order for it to work go for it. It's not wrong to improve your self just don't compromise your health and other people when doing so. I've seen so many people my age that seems to push their family just to get what they want. When I was a kid, I was shorter than average. I looked pretty but I was short. I was told that I had to gain more weight to grow and to grow more. The more that I got older I learned that it was just genetics. And then realized my siblings are little more and a little less than the average hight for their age. Then I just accepted my hight. P.S: My sister who is 5'2 and is 15 still calls me short.
