My TikTok for you page is completely full of great medical stuff! Today we talk about food like Taco Bell and how it digests through your intestines, the proper volume of your headphones, surgical equipment, getting back in shape, proper skincare, those weird jaw muscle trainers, how to get rid of hickeys with whisks, face masks and skin peeling during periods, sunscreen for babies, concussions, collarbones, melatonin, and yes I even speak some Russian.
I LOVE reading your comments and take your suggestions seriously. If there’s a subject you want me to discuss or something you’d like for me to react to, leave a comment down below. Many of my videos have been born out of suggestions directly from you, so don’t hold back!

For several years I’ve encouraged my daughter to explain her symptoms to the doctor herself and only contributed when she’s forgotten information or is underplaying the symptoms as described to me. I also encourage her to keep a symptom diary when something is bothering her to take to the doctor because it can provide answers to questions the doctors are going to ask anyway without you relying on your recall (when did the symptoms start, how often do you experience these symptoms, what are you doing when you experienced these symptoms, etc.

I'm not a medical professional but I can almost guarantee people don't mind, or at least they shouldn't. It's just a little amusing because we want people to realize they have autonomy over what happens to them now that they're older, kinda like if a college student were to ask their parents if they could have candy.

I’m with you and I understand you. Best thing you can do is immersion therapy. Have people who given you good motivation and mental reinforcement and have them try to get you to answer questions but start with them guiding you. Also, research some basic self comfort and focus techniques. If these don’t work I’d recommend seeing a psychologist or cognitive-behavioral therapist or even an occupational therapist depending on severity.

The brain when focusing on objects makes your brain have non essential features of things fade into the background to allow for more "processing" ability. So when you stare at the cross, alot of the non-essential features fade away. Then your brain gets confused and tries to fill in the missing blanks and since you see 2 faces it tries to morph them together. Ends up looking funny.

4:29 oh we learned about this in my caricature illustration class at college! Basically the video provides a demonstration on how our brains recognize human faces: comparing them to each other and really highlighting what makes faces different, and emphasizing the differences only. Staring at the cross and not directly at the faces let’s your brain erase all other information about the faces except what makes them most unique from each other

The efficiency of headphones and headphone amps varies from model to model, so decibels (dB) are a better metric for ensuring safe headphone use. The rule of thumb is to keep extended sessions below 70 dB. I have headphones that stay under that threshold even with my laptop’s headphone output at 100%, while more efficient headphone/amp combos could hit 70 dB at, say, 12-15%.

Optician here! The thing with the faces appearing distorted has to do with the way our brain merges the different images it receives from the retinas. Stereopsis (the ability to perceive depth with eyesight) happens by having two corresponding spots on the retina take see a the same object on the plane of the place where your eyes are fixed on. By trying to fuse those spots our and calculating the difference between the two images from the retinas our brain is able to perceive depth. Due to the pictures of the the celebrities being similar in colour but not matching in actual composition our brain tries to merge them to make sense out of them, thus distorting the faces to in an attempt to make a single picture of of them. That's also why both faces are distorted.

Objects in our peripheral visual fields are more susceptible to top-down processing, since the visual attention streams only to a certain degree retains information from everything outside the central visual field. Therefore, to make sense of it, higher cognitive functions need to interpret whatever information is left

Your eyes are focused on the plus sign, but you are seeing the faces on either side of your peripheral vision so they appear to "blur together" and become distorted. If you focus on each face individually, they will appear less distorted, but if the images switch fast enough, they will begin to "blur together" and distort slightly as well. It's also possible that some of the images were edited slightly to enhance the distortion effect (cuz it's the internet and people love clout) but the editing is not super noticeable unless you're "looking for it".

On hearing, the average range of Hunan hearing is 20Hz-20,000Hz. An audio engineering professor told me that you have cilia in your cochlea that are dedicated to reacting to specific sound frequencies, so if you damage your hearing it's possible that you damaged hearing in say the 15kHz-17kHz range for example. And ringing comes from those cilia vibrating with no stimulus

I believe the one with the two images on the side of a grayish looking cross with a black background video can be explained by "afterimage effect" or "negative afterimage." It occurs when you stare at a particular image or object for an extended period and then shift your gaze to a blank surface. In this case, you're fixating on the greyish looking plus sign and then shifting your gaze away to a blank area, such as a black background. When you focus your attention on an image for a while, the cells in your eyes that are responsible for detecting color and light intensity become fatigued. This results in an imbalance of neural activity in those cells. When you then shift your gaze to a blank area, the fatigued cells that were previously activated become less active, while the surrounding cells that were less fatigued maintain their activity. This change in neural activity creates a contrasting afterimage. In your case, since the background is black, the afterimage appears as the complementary color of the original image. For example, if the original images of famous people were in color, the afterimage might appear as the opposite color. Additionally, the continuous switching of images can further confuse the visual system, leading to additional distortions in the afterimage. Our visual system is highly sensitive to changes in stimuli, and rapid switches can create ambiguous and distorted perceptions.

There's literally so many kids and pets that need to be taken away from those types of vegans. Feeding cats vegan only diets, and of course thinking a kid doesn't need sunscreen because they consume plants.. Mind blowing. There was an even worse one when parents had their baby on a vegan diet and she wasn't breastfeeding cause it wasn't vegan. Blew my mind.

@@mayasetlur5471 See the problem is, sane vegans don't call out the insane ones. Kinda like how sane feminists never call out or condemn the misandrist rabid loons. Which leads to group stereotypes. You essentially see more people going "Hey not all of us are like that" than people of their same tribe condemning and calling them out. People will continue to stereotype and paint with broad brushes until you call those types out. People rarely do because it goes against their own 'tribe' or group. Throw in the fact how huge in-group bias is so if you do see someone saying something wrong you're much more likely to ignore it due to said in-group bias.

About the face distortion thing. As far as I know there is a special face-processing center in human brains, that works with key details of the faces to create a valid image. To me it's like... Vector image, I guess, not just image, but visualised code. So when you get those keys from peripheral vision, they get distorted and the final result looks odd. I base my assumption that there are specific brain damages, that make people being unable to see or recognize faces - though the vision itself remains unimpaired.
