I wouldn't mind the full deconstruction of him being a creep and forever haunting families alike for protection and having their first child life forever enslaved by him...to be, their plaything!? Disney only SKIMMED the dark parts of the Brother's Grimms stories and the like!

Man it's criminal that this doesn't have more views. This is the kind of lore dive I want. It's kinda nuts they went with an almost League of Extraordinary Gentlemen ending with PP. I'm gonna run laps once I see the Oz universe completely reconstructed. I hope they get to develop the story further as it has some insane potential. I grew up watching these in film during my childhood and it's just crazy to me that these characters work in these kinds of reimaginings.

Thanks! Maybe KZread will give it a little push eventually but either way, it was just nice get my thoughts out. Yes, it's exciting! I read the books after watching the movie when I was a kid and was so surprised how much more there was to it. I've always wanted a good Wizard of Oz game and looks like we might finally get one. Can't wait to see where they go with it

Great insights, thx. Yes, if they go with the Wizard of Oz they have a lot of material to cover indeed. I agree that playing as dorothy would be so bad-ass. Red shoes are used in the movie but my bet is that they needed the color red to go matching the 'rubedo' phase required to create the philosopher's stone. If you have more thoughts on the colors used in the game and their relation to the alchemical principles I would watch another of your videos.

That's a good point and funny that you say that, I had originally gone on a tangent about the colors in this video but cut it because it didn't really fit/seemed like it should be its own video. I had chalked the shoes up to those being her most recognizable but made the connection with her outfit seeming to be red too. My point was going was going to be since rubedo is last, Dorothy's game might not be next, but what the next few games are working towards(also four phases, four members in Dorothy's crew). Similar to how the MCU teased out the Avengers a few movies before delivering. I made a few other color connections with alchemy as well, so since there's at least two people interested, I'll put it together in a video soon I think

If the golden ergo is the third yellow stage it means two more stories were already harvested before the facts happening in Krat. When thinking of nigredo Dark Souls comes to mind but it's - clearly - not a timeless child story. Thoughts on that, clues?

I hadn't actually factored the golden ergo into it, that's an interesting idea I hadn't thought of. There could be similar cycle going on just for the ergo. Or maybe the golden ergo was birthed of someone who was at the phase when they died? Philosopher's stone created when someone who has completed Rubedo dies maybe? I was kind of weaving together the physical Magnum Opus and the Jungian stages of character transformation together. I was also tying each phase to the main four in Wizard of Oz. I was looking at it like all of Lies of P was nigredo with blue replacing black as it apparently does in the east according the Jung. Jung associates Confession with nigredo which is like right on the money for this game. There's a theme of truth associated with it but also decomposition which fits as well. P would be this phase and take the role of the Tin Man. Albedo: Illumination(character transformation), Cowardly Lion. There's a theme of deflating one's ego and facing the dark parts of yourself without being afraid. Part of the other reason I went Beast=Cowardly Lion. This fits him so well and I could see a separate game called like Pride of B with a white theme being made. Citrinitas: Education (character transformation), Scarecrow. Yellow/Gold. "Thoughts of A"? Rubedo: Transformation (character transformation), Dorothy. Red. "Rebirth of D"? Another color related thing being the Emerald Tablet is probably in the Emerald City

I don't know enough to comment on that and also I remember only vaguely how the golden ergo came to be in krat, but I'll revisit the lore of the game and do some reading on these topics for sure.

Something tells me Lies Of P is just part of something bigger, exept Wizard Of Oz. Maybe they'll include Alice In Wonderland or Heidi, or maybe even Peter Pan. And we may find the other pieces of the god (The one that arm belongs to)

high quality and well though out video. i finally bought lies of p and now im at puppet king. its very intense but fun. although the combat is basically sekiro but with stagger, they put up a chellenge.

OK, here is something that bothers me. On my first playthrough, when I had no clue about connections with Oz, I rescued a Test Subject 826 NPC just after Laxasia The Complete bossfight. He seemed a bit weird but one thing in particular - his nose. It could be a coincidence but man, I don't know now. Why they specifically chose the nose to look so distinct in color compared to the rest of his face. And now take a look at the Scarecrow from The Wizard of Oz (1939) movie.

I honestly am so excited for the dlc this game is so good.

I kinda want a Faust game set in this universe now (or atleast Dr.Faust as a chracter) considering a scientist bored with life and obsessed with knowledge aided by a demon could fit that organisation really well. Imagine Paracelsus is talking about finding more ways to archive immortality only for faust to whine "I allready archived immortality with that demon. So dont bother me with what i allready know. I only have one goal. That I understand what holds the core of the world together!"

Dark fairy tale souls like sounds like a winning formula to me.

Paracelsus is actually a Doctor/Medic of the 15th century and one of the people who started modernising medizin. This is an interesting idea. A healer obsessed with finding wys to make people immortal.

Also, Ergo might not be the only type of energy that exists in the game's world

So is the title card about Giangio? Lies of Paracelsus

Definitely could be. That's a theory I've seen and it would allow for sequels to be called "Lies of P" as well, even if we get a different playable character, so long as we're chasing after Paracelsus. Part of that also being that no one ever calls our character "Pinocchio" and we just assumed. He is called 'Pino' in the game files though. It's a good theory but I think we'll have to wait and see

there definitely is going to be (i mean the dev confirmed it) but also theres a strange stargazer right before the malum district that is never able to be interacted with in the game.

I'm hoping the DLC just continues the current story of Pinocchio, and that they save Wizard of Oz for it's own spin off game.
