In all charitably, saying "flawed people can still..." is a meanless statement. Every human is flawed. A couple of the issues here are integrity, hypocrisy, and misleading people who you solicit money from. If you feel that "the end justifies the means" and you do not care if those means include the issues above (and other issues) then just say that. Everyone has the right to hold opinions.

This man just proves that the narcissist label fits. They are always the victim it’s never their fault regardless of the situation. Ones who didn’t accuse him of CSA and stuck to what he admitted got legally threatened. There were ones that went outside that and did deserve a letter. He is now upset with the interviewer already and is now threatening to sue him! So yet again Mr Evans keeps the drama going because the initial story had been put on the back burner.

He refuses to recognize the link between early sexual abuse and the probability of sex trafficking as an underlying reason that someone becomes or remains a sex worker. Those certainly aren’t the only reasons but they quite frequently are and it’s insensitive of him at the least and more likely dishonest of him to keep ignoring that.

An atheist should be held to the same standard as anyone else. I don't understand the point of this question. Morality is not merely a construct of religion; it is more a construct of humankind.

Allegedly, Lloyd's wife said it was ok for him to see other women. He's not a Christian. I know a woman that pays for her husband to be with strippers on his birthday. Why would there be an uproar? They're not Jehovah Witnesses.. no one has proven that Lloyd molested a child.. so my question is very valid...

Please note though, they are all conforming to the rules/laws placed on them, whatever they may be. re: His wife "allegedly" saying it was alright for him to see other women. I acknowledge that you applied the qualifier to the statement; that you are not openly buying into the premise although you make it clear you find it plausible by bringing up the woman who pays for her husband to have strippers dance for him on his birthday. Please consider this: By his own admission, his wife was very upset when she found out he was with other women. If she had told him it was okay, why would she be so upset, to the point of them separating? She has also been accused of lying for him. Have you ever seen her with their little girls? There is no way she is going to jeopardize their wellbeing and safety for him!

@@watchingtheworld777 In the Kim Silvio interview she clearly said that his wife said she did not agree with him stepping outside his marriage and he flew into a rage because she had changed her mind after being badgered by him to agree to such an arrangement. That’s not the same as the two examples you have cited.

An atheist would probably expect to have equal rights with their partner and be treated equally, so when Lloyds wife wants to have f*CK buddies on lone holidays every couple of months it's easy she just needs to say, I'm sorry, and carry on regardless because he's set the standard in their personal relationship. Then she can damage his mental health and tell him he was absolute shit in bed. She could also take an ad out in the local paper or go on KZread and tell the whole world how shit he was in bed, but it's all ok (according to Lloyd standard) because she told him she is sorry. What's good for the goose.... Or, because we are all individuals she could decide to spend an equal amount of money and have the vacation that she wants, to help her fragile mental state, but I expect Lloyd would decide that she's not entitled to equal spending, because equality and fairness is not his standard but control and bullying. So what standard should atheist's be held to? First of all the laws of the land as a minimum.

Define consenting adults. Sex with prostitutes is transactional, it's a contract, it's part of the consent. Are the prostitutes able to say NO or are they pressured into having sex with any John? Is it possible to gain consent in a country where it's illegal? If he didn't pay could she sue? Would it then be considered rape? On the other hand if it were happening in a country where it's legal, would she be able to sue for non-payment and would he be charged with rape. Your probably wondering what has this to do with consent, well when prostitutes consent it includes what, how long and how much, there is no consent if you renague on any of the above.

Being an ex-JW myself I felt a level of kinship with Lloyd and was less inclined to run his positions through some sort of a critical filter than I might otherwise. For me, having (with considerable difficulty and significant personal loss) separated myself from a hyper judgmental group of people, learning to be more open minded and less critical of others was a worthwhile challenge that I still find worth pursuing. Trying to end a habit certainly reinforces how much of a habit it had become. With that in mind I am not sure exactly how to feel about Lloyds situation. And no matter how much I try to be generous and understanding of his personal circumstances and challenges, somehow I still just feel kinda let down. Maybe it’s because I’m still searching for order amid the chaos and somehow expected Lloyd to be someone to look up to and be inspired by rather than just simply being another somewhat lost human being who found a way to monetize his frustrations. Be that as it may, the clarity he provides on all things Watchtower is still valuable.

Yes Christopher, his work is very important. I feel very similar to you. But I truly have no interest in judging his personal life. I also don't hold him up as any kind of personal example, to be honest. And never did look for that. He clearly has quite severe personality issues and I actually feel sorry that he's not getting the right help and advice that he really needs. Or it's quite possible he's receiving good support and advice but is unable make that kind of personal breakthrough at this time. Certain parts of the community are clearly very damaged indeed. I saw a brilliant statement on FB yesterday that all sides of this mess would do well to listen to: He who blames others has a long way to go on his journey He who blames himself is halfway there He who blames no one has arrived. - Chinese Proverb I think you'll like this. 🤗

I think LE provides valuable insight and information about the JW organization. This matter is between he and his wife, we have more important things to worry about. I feel Lloyd hurt the cause. Had he not been on IICSA and hadn't hit so hard on child protection this scandal would not have been such a big deal. I do agree that the push back was way too big. But Lloyd is a hypocrite talking about bullies when he heavily criticized other activists and pushed them out of the cause.

Regarding his right to a private life, doesn't that go both ways??? If he wants privacy he should extend that right to others, but if he did that, respected the privacy of others, he wouldn't be able to continue with his activism, with his exposes, his videos, his blogs! Invading privacy comes with the territory, why should anyone guilty of wrongdoing be exempt??? Lloyd Evans clearly doesn't see it as wrongdoing, conveniently dismissing the associations between child abuse and the sex trade, but then, that's what makes his behaviour and mindset far worse, his callous inability to connect the dots! I have said this before on this subject, and its something LE totally misses. My second wife cheated on me. The most hurtfull part was that I was the last to know. I suspected, I talked to mutual friends, all denied it. Then I found out they all lied to me. That devestates me even today, 20 years later. I was last to know. Many of us know this. A mutual friend such as Kim Silvio, willing to speak out, would have helped me deal with it. Imagine, if in 10 years LEs wife found all this out, and she also found out Kim was covering for him. Kim totally done the right thing. But here is LE, blaming Kim.. for what HE done, while kim was most likely thinking of his wife and kids. He even said, it was his first trip to thailand, he was seperated.. scuba diving yeah.. but he had a sex worker GF.. 😂

She had just helped to win an case against CSA abuse in ozz.. and here was this knob.. sending drunk photos of him with working women.

Full rant mode now. He admitted in that vid he had a relatinship with a thai sex worker. It was his first trip. 3 weeks. He is seperated from his wife, he told Kim he wanted to scuba, he said in his original vid he wanted thailand cos cheap, in case he needed to stay longer. And here he is, three weeks in Thailand, had a relationship with a thai sex worker, she was consenting adult.. he is an expert on sex abuse... but somehow, he managed to avoid totally that he is the exact type of John the thai sex trade is designed to extract money from. 😂😂😂😂😂😂 What a total fecking idiot.

I know guys who have married asian sex workers. They knew the score. They are very happy 👍. But this dude, LE fresh off the plane.. he got stung. Stung big. And its JWs fault. Never little lloyd. Jesus wept. I used to arrange asian working women for an Irish 50 yr old catholic abuse victim. He could never get a GF, he asked me to arrange things. I did. But LE makes it his wifes fault here.. or WTs fault. He is just a green john. 😂😂😂

Hi Alan, yes Kim did the right thing, Lloyd didn't just make a mistake when he was drunk and vulnerable and got caught off guard by a sex worker, he did it repeatedly by his own admission, his wife and kids definitely needed to know, but also his viewers because of his role in CSA. If he wants to divorce his wife and marry a sex worker that's his business, but maybe he should have divorced her first and then went looking for his ideal partner.

He has confused me.. he said he dated a sex w7orker in Thailand but then said he did not do that in Thailand that the unfaithfulness happened before he went to Thailand.

His infidelity took place in the USA and various other countries during work trips, if I’m understanding correctly. At the time he went to Thailand he and his wife had “separated” so in his view, dating a sex worker there was not infidelity. I’m not sure I’m in agreement, but that’s essentially what he is saying.

I didn’t know there was a standard for an atheist Jew. Sounds a bit racist …..Jew shmu ok. Not feeling the love. Who cares what his religion he was brought up in. How is he today as a person? He’s a nice guy a very good podcaster. Shows all the right traits of a good interviewer, he’s focused, compassionate, has shown empathy….I mean come on. When Lloyd admitted adultery, Andrew could have been harsh, but the classy chap said that is none of no one’s business, it must be stressful. Perfect reply.

This video with Andrew Gold demonstrates that Lloyd Evans is either a glutton for punishment, or simply enjoys verbal and emotional combat, or is almost completely lacking in insight into the mess he has been in recently. Or some combination of those. The furor had subsided. No, it hadn't gone away, and for many in the JW apostate community it will never go away. But the furor had certainly subsided. And then Lloyd decided to kick the hornets' nest. Why? For what purpose? Toward what end? In doing a video to criticize those he says are spreading misinformation about him he succeeded at calling more attention to the things that are indisputably true about him. Puzzling.

He's trying to gain control and as a narcisist it gives him fuel to be talked about, and his need for fuel is constant, hence his introduction of the idea that his infidelities included him dating a sex worker because this will give him fuel.

What a total narcissist. It’s clear he thinks others should be canceled in culture yet he renames that act. He thinks Joe Rogan allowing a few doctors on that question the repeatedly propagandized narrative around the pandemic is somehow wrong or cancel worthy, yet he himself is absolved of any responsibility

I mistook this video for one with a running commentary on Lloyd's statements interspersed with clips from the interview. I'm a bit disappointed. Analyses of Lloyd's claims would have made it more interesting and less likely to be taken down due to DMCA copyright concerns.

Never a JW, just a general aethiest as owner of this channel knows. I unsubbed from LE a couple months ago. What strikes me, is that many of the WT books behind him were donated by members of your community. Many rare books, donated by ppl who no longer support him. If I was him, I would be saying to his past followers that if they donated and want them back, message me. Pedantic I know, but other activists could use those rare books. But to him its like a trophy cabinet. If one of those books were mine, I would feel annoyed. 👍

as long as Lloyd used protection and did not bring any disease home and as long as they are trying to repair their marriage, this all proves to me that Lloyd is a just a human being, like you and me.
