WillyWonkasLight and more importantly, it’s not all power moves There’s foundation, which looks super easy to a non-bboy. It’s dancing up top, and dancing on the floor (toprock, and footwork). And everyone needs to be original (make up your own moves and sets)

That was amazing. I did it back in 1984-1987 and we were lucky to see "Egg Rolls, 1990, Head Spin, Reg Flares." The stuff that you guys are doing now, blows my mind. TY, great post. As a popper I feel nothing but respect and admiration for people who can do these moves and those who are learning, and I'll defend it against anyone who might despectively say it isn't dance. It sure seems tough, but the result is beautiful. These moves make the world a better place.

I've fallen countless times on my face trying to master 1990's, so I just stuck with the windmills back in them days.
dedication and love for the art. i would love to get further into break dancing! i believe that i can see some similarities between the practicing / learning curve of break dancing and skateboarding. learning a few (starter-) moves might become a new thing for me, here and there between the miniramps and curbs. gotta start somewhere! much respect from germany! 🇩🇪
I'm gonna try cricket and the airchair spin once I get some muscles

Great stuff. One of my favorites has always been the ultra flares. Definitely give that one a go.
I like hearing the audio in the video because in all of the videos I’ve ever seen of these, there’s music dubbed over the video and you’d think these moves are completely smooth and without impact, and because of that I was thinking I’m landing “wrong” when I thudded onto my feet. Thank you for this!
As a girl who's starting to learn breakdance in the street, I'm so impressed by these clean moves omg :0 I hope I'll be able to do the same one day, even if that might be harder for me cause I'm a girl.

This is great! It's easy to forget certain moves or variations so this is very handy as a reference! I know most of those moves either from watching or doing but didn't know the name of every variation; only the main names and some variation names. I almost never seen "Figure 4 Air Flare" so thanks for that. Now I want to make a similar video!

@@channelSNACK I'm sorry I know I commented on another post by someone. Just curious ....I'm pretty flexible and good at turning flips like a gymnast...do u think I could learn any of these moves before I turn 30? I'm 26 now. It was something I always loved as a kid and want to get into something else besides lifting weights all the time.
@TheLocalKook
3 жыл бұрын
@@tijuanhoward3661 I know this comment was a while ago but if you mainly do flips and gymnastics things I suggest you should build a lot of core and upper body strength to do any bboy power moves, since that's what most of breaking power uses. Hope this helps at least.
@TheLocalKook
3 жыл бұрын
@@tijuanhoward3661 I also suggest that you start with the basics like windmills, headspins, flares and master them before attempting airflares or jackhammers and what evs.
Obviously it’s a lot, but how many push-ups and other body weight excersizes does one need to be able to do to flare.

@@elizabethhenok2780 A bit of a late reply, but doing calisthenics really help up with upper body strength/core (which are the muscles most utilized when doing power). Try push-ups, pullups, L-sits and practice flexing your abs on every rep! Also keep in mind that momentum is key for clean power!
