Break Barrel Air Rifle Maintenance Part 1

This is a video series about the disassembling and greasing/lubrication of the break barrel air rifle Weihrauch HW95 or Beeman R9.
This video can be used as a tutorial how to maintain your break barrel air rifle, it doesn't have to be my model. 99% of all break barrel air rifles share the same parts.
Four major steps are demonstrated in this series of videos:
1. Disassembly
2. Removal of factroy grease
3. Re-greasing with MoS2 grease and Napier grease
4. Reassembly
And the final step is to test the velocity with a Chrony.

Break barrel is evergreen. It doesn't matter a springer, gas ram or any fancy piston all mechanism and maintenance remains the same. It is self-contained and can shoot indefinitely.

My English speaking skills are poor (lack of personal talk with an Englishman) but my written English is at least decent. ^^ The Beeman Grizzly is a Chinese made airgun and disassembles a bit differently but not by much. I recommend you not taking it apart without a spring compressor. Disassembly is easy. If you remove the stock you will immediately see what next steps to do. You remove the piston by simply pulling it out. There is no other way. Maybe I'll do a video about tuning in the future.

Hi there, great video! I am currently having a firing issue with my KRAL Magnum .22 break barrel. It was working fine a few months ago, but was stored for a while and now wont fire. When i try to cock it, it doesnt lock back like normal for loading the pellet, so i suspect it is cocked and ready to fire. However, when i pull the trigger nothing happens. I have no access to a local gunsmith, but i am hesitant to dismantle it as i have no idea what will happen if it IS cocked. Could you suggest any course of action? is there a chance it could go off in my face if i try? Thanks

I tried to lube it using your videos but sorry man this applicable only in low energy weak spring rifle but if the opposite occurs it is like hell. It is very difficult.

I hear all sportsman series pellet guns have the same internal components for beeman brand. I bought a beeman "Kodiak Silver x2" from walmart and it has the advertised 1,000 fps when using the .177 barrel. This looks like a better built version of my China beeman but should be identical if (when) i need to replace something right? Besides this being wood stock with nice metal trigger guard where mine has a synthetic stock and plastic trigger guard the guts and disassembly are the same......right? When something does go wrong would it be worth replacing it or will something else go bad soon and i should just buy another for 100 dollars? Thanks

Hmm, I can disassemble an AR receiver completely. But a break barrel air rifle I'm not sure. An as far as a spring exceeding 12 foot pounds, I know in Europe their air rifles are way more limited. But from what I've seen and heard, and have read. An just through my personal experience, there's really almost no need to ever even "clean" an air rifle. Especially the barrel, there will be basically next to nothing in it. An a little bit of lead fowl or build can actually even help. My thing is with PCP and break barrel air rifles, is just making sure that the O - rings and what not stay good, and don't dry up or start to leak or anything. An even with co2 air rifles, however I know that theres also a difference between the type on oils and lubricants you can use on them. You can just use that Crossman "Pelgun oil" on co2 air guns, but in the break barrels and pcp guns. You CAN'T use any petroleum based type lubricants, cause it will destroy the o - rings. But yeah they really don't get dirty or anything, it's literally just about keeping very few particular parts lubricated on them. An making sure you just blow them off and use them a little once in a while if they're sitting around. Cause that's what always happens with the co2 air guns, they'll sit unused for years. An then when you go m finally go back to use them, an put a co2 in. All the air just comes leaking out and spraying everywhere, because the seals and o - rings have dried up or cracked.

HAHA! Man, I'm loving you and this channel! I just got into air rifles after moving to india where real guns are nearly impossible to get. I bought a cheap air rifle (about 40 euros) from a toy store to find that it was pretty consistent when rested. Besides a few crude manufacturing practices, it's an acceptable rifle for a tune up. Given that I can get most of the parts I need made, for within the same price I paid for the gun if not a bit more, I can make a pretty good one. I'm planning to put up a video soon before moving on to making a single shot bolt-action pcp like they do in indonesia.

I got a Gamo Silent Stalker Whisper an it has so much recoil from the IGT it's almost impossible to keep a scope from creeping after each shot. Im about ready to weld a set of mounts on it. Sure wouldn't hurt the top any. It's all marked up from the first day. I extended the screw that came down out of the scope mount as a stop, as which this is what it was for. This was factory from Gamo. The force of each shot made a scar a sixteenth longer after each & every shot, then it snapped in half. The rifle is made from very soft aluminum alloy. I noticed just how cheaply made it was after the very first day of trying to tighten the screws on the scope mount. I've had 3 scopes on it, an have yet gotten it to stay in one place. I used locktight before, im hoping today it will hold. So be careful if anyone buys Gamo. There metals are cheap. $260 piece of shit.
