BRCC Presents - The HunterSeven Foundation

Ойын-сауық

American veterans have been developing cancer at a disproportionately high rate - especially in the last twenty years.
While private and government funded healthcare is just beginning to tackle this issue, one organization is taking the fight straight to the enemy.
Hunter 7 was founded to educate, assist, and take care of veterans and their families who are facing the biggest battle of their lives and dispel the myth that the wounds of war end on the battlefield.

This is absolutely real for veterans. I served 23 years, 4 tours in Iraq. Diagnosed prostate cancer at 40. Early detection is critical. Guys, get your PSA tested. I was fortunate that the surgery got all the cancer. Over 15 years cancer free. Don’t take chances with your health.

Cancer/TBI/Toxicity are things that need to be talked about openly with active duty leadership. Even for those of us who ended up with "non service related" issues, it would save more lives than double of 11,00 pushups. And now we're seeing civilian kids with exposure or head trauma being treated with an anti psychotic med when they dont have a mental disorder. They have an undiagnosed(misdiagnosed) injury or cancer. 5 kids in my small town ended thier own life in a similar way that 14 different people i served with did....all were either being given bad medication, were told they didn't need blood tests, or that they just needed more antibiotics because of an overactive thyroid. Add alcohol and a bad few years and poof.......dirt nap. Thank you all for sacrificing so much to save so few. Even one life is worth it❤

My dad died from cancer caused by Agent Orange, it took a toll on his body causing him to have cataracts in his eyes in his 30s, nerve damage, diabetes, and my brothers all have anemia while I have a nurological disorder. The VA basically denied or try to deny Agent Orange exposure was the cause and yet the rest of the world says othetwise. All these companies and organizations that get protections need to lose all that and the victims and their families should get the best care.

I was stationed at Edgewood Arsenal after 9/11 i was diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia in 2020 at just 40yo. I was rated 100 percent just a few days ago after 3 years of fighting for it, they called it TERA Toxic Exposure Related Activity. I lost my job at the VA after 8 years working there and had to draw out all my retirement so i could feed my son and I even had to get on food stamps but i never stopped fighting for what I felt i was owed. Keep up the fight!

There is many other diagnoses that are also related to the toxic exposures we suffered, and those are even less recognized than those that get cancer. Everything from nerve damage to mitochondrial issues and autoimmune disease. Those like myself were denied proper care and struggle for every bit of care because of the disbelief that it is not just in our heads exspcialy if female. The education should start as troops enter service to report everything you are exposed to and all symptoms so at least there is a record. Even the VA fails more of us than anyone acknowledges and it is due to lack of training from my perspective as I was a vA physicians assistant and later a patient. I can even report abuse by providers who would not listen to what I was telling them until I collapsed because of their insisting there couldn't be anything wrong. Once I finally went to the civilian side and got testing I demanded because of my knowledge than it could be confirmed something was very wrong. Please recognize there is so much more to be done and more who are in serious need besides those with cancer as those veterans also deserve the same concern and actions.

I have not been diagnosed with cancer or anything, but was exposed like most of us that have served, to burn pits and poop ponds and I have asked the Va about this stuff and they blow it off like it’s no big deal. I stoped using the Va for any medical Treatment and I choose to pay out of pocket for any civilian medical appointments that I do go to. I absolutely have no trust in the Va seeing the games and how they constantly trick people out of rights, and the different games and lack of help they offered friends of mine who have ended their own lives. But educating vets is very important to me. I have learned a lot about the disability process and try to talk to any vet I come across to make sure they know how to get the disability rating they deserve and the benefits that go with that rating. It’s always surprising to me how little vets know or how little self education they take on. Thank you for what you all do and have done.

(not cancer) This issue of high rates of cancers among our organization was addressed at the gathering and it is absolutely a huge concern among us all. The guy talking to us who is currently battling cancer emphasized that if we experience an odd change in health or new pain to not ignore it. Go in and get checked out.

My father is a Vietnam Marine Corps Veteran he has been exposed multiple times to agent orange. as well as the chemicals from burning the wooden ammunition boxes. Plus he was in stationed at Camp Lejeune before going to Vietnam and while DD’ing out. Yes he’s also very exposed to the waters of Camp Lejeune. He’s had surgery for skin cancer a few times. But now he’s been diagnosed with Squamous cell Carcinoma in one of his lungs. I am trying my hardest to file a claim for disability, but I can’t font the bridge to connect it to the Agent Orange or the Camp Lejeune water. If there is anybody out there who might have some information that can link anything to his cancer I would appreciate it greatly if you could share it with me. So I can get my father to 100% disability. Thank you.
