​@@Delta47_11B What he's saying is that they're trusting in their belief of moral superiority when comparing themselves to other people. They believe that they are deserving of salvation because they believe themselves to be 'good people'. For example, Robertson believes he is good because he tells other progressives that they are deserving of salvation due to their adherence to the antibiblical mindset of 'do what thou wilt'. This is an exceptionally dangerous way of thinking because nobody is good, and nobody is deserving of salvation. If we were good and deserving of salvation on our own, then we wouldn't need a Savior in the first place. We also cannot 'follow our hearts' and do whatever we desire because our hearts are all deceitful desperately wicked in the first place. Robertson is making himself the final authority instead of God by practically declaring that God's stance on morality and salvation are not correct.

The trouble is that the false teachings do sound so much better to those with itching ears. Many are ready to accept a lovey-dovey sort of God who has no expectations of them. But they are not prepared to be set apart, pick up their crosses and follow Christ. And if you try and suggest to them that the Lord is not just loving but also righteous, that He will judge how they obey His Laws...well, you are either called a fanatic or they tell you that you do not trust God's love (A. Farley's followers). In either case, their ears will not hear and their eyes will not see. In this light, progressivism is, I think, even worse than catholicism-since it makes people feel like they deserve the "ticket" to the Heaven. One of my acquaintance's (Farley's follower) argument is that he believes in Christ therefore he's got "his ticket" to the Heaven- no matter what he does/speaks/thinks in this life. I can try and reason with him all I want but it never leads anywhere. He insists that he is so special that he seriously deserves a place at the Wedding. At least, with many Catholics you can gently navigate them- read to them Exodus 20, explain that purgatory is not biblical etc....but it's an uphill work with the progressives.

I am also working on this, I hate to hear the gospel and the Lord so blatantly misrepresented and it will lead new believers away from Christ. His mercy on me is a reminder of my own bankruptcy without the cross so it puts it in prospective to look at others as He does.

I could see Brandons face turning red from frustration of people constantly preaching to him the truth. I can also hear his frustration behind his voice. we know how his voice always sounds loving but there was also some anger there. this shows there's so many rebuking him that he's growing weary

Plus, I sometimes see comments asking rhetorically why you always react to people like Furtick and Robertson, but I think that because you are a discernment ministry, rather than just telling people what not to listen to, you are in fact doing your job better by familiarising your audience with these people's arguments by repeatedly going back to them and showing them the absurdness of their claims. So God either a) allowed anti gay bigots to shove words and an entire anti gay story in Sodom and Gomorrah in the OT and NT and never did anything to stop it or b) God is not down with homosexuals. How could we ever think a God who hates sex before marriage, says masturbation is sinful, and says if you think about a woman in a sexual way you have sinned might be against homosexuals? I know God is love right? So He floods the earth and kills everyone but 8 people because they were all just REALLY judgmental staunch rule followers and if there's anything God hates it's people who take His laws too seriously. Or what the Flood didn't happen at all? Neither did the Garden of Eden? So there's no original sin or promise not to destroy the earth with a Flood? If you believe that why chose to believe in hippie love only Jesus? You do realize almost all our depictions of Hell come from Jesus and He discusses Hell more than Heaven. Which is it?

I've never quite understood the Christian vision of the human person. It's essentially somewhat self contradictory. You’re trash, but somehow also have all this inherent worth and are infinitely loved. But can only be truly good/worthy via divine grace. Besides, I don't even think it matters whether or not we deserve hell simply because we're imperfect. It didn't matter to Jesus. He would have sacrificed himself to save us whether he thought we deserved it or not.

Does this “pastor” read the Bible in its entirety? I’m stunned he used “Many will say Lord, Lord…” as an example to support his stance. This passage of Scripture CONDEMNS people like himself who will claim to be followers of Christ but never were truly saved. The God that he worships is not the God of the Bible. The God of the Bible is a God of love but of righteousness and holiness who must condemn unrighteousness. This person is spreading absolute false teachings to the world and it’s sad that so many will follow it. Great work Colin!

We are to judge those in the faith by their fruits. And as an openly gay pastor, he’s already at odds with the Bible which puts his claim to salvation in question. He also misquotes Scripture repeatedly, another issue. So I don’t claim anything. I’m just repeating what the Bible states, if you have an issue with it, that’s on you.

@@JS-gz2nw you seem to either not read my statements or are just purposely intending to try and get a rise out of me. If you notice, I said that it puts his claim of salvation “into question”. We as believers are called to reprove, correct, teach, and rebuke using Scripture according to 2 Timothy 3:16. I am so glad you compared the Bible to a weapon…because it is. Hebrews 4:12: “For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.” The Bible states that one who is sexually immoral, including those who are homosexual, are performing degrading acts and will receive their due penalty of their error (Romans 1:26-27). Therefore, Brandan is in open rebellion against God. To add to it, the Bible is EXACTLY what Christians use to combat false teachings and beliefs. Galations 1:7-9 “…only there are some who are disturbing you and want to distort the gospel of Christ. But even if we, or an angel from heaven, should preach to you a gospel contrary to what we have preached to you, he is to be accursed! As we have said before, so I say again now, if any man is preaching to you a gospel contrary to what you have received; he is to be accursed!” 2 Thess 3:6 states to keep away from any brother who is leading an unruly life and is not following Scripture. 1 John 4:1 states “Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world”. And finally, Jude 1:3-4 states to contend for the faith, knowing sound doctrine, as many false teachers have crept in and turned the grace of God into open immorality. I am pitting what Brandan has spoken about the Bible and God against the Bible, exactly as I am called to do. And his teachings and doctrine are not lining up with the Bible. It seems you are having difficulties understanding what true discernment with the Scriptures is. The Bible does not conform to anything that happens to be progressive in this era. Period.

I mean 1 Timothy 4:16 speaks about doctrine and good theology as well. "Watch your life and doctrine closely. Persevere in them, because if you do, you will save both yourself and your hearers." Good theology most certainly matters

God holds people to a higher standard if they speak on his behalf, so they better make sure they get it right

Kenji, Sammy Darko is not claiming Christians are to “determine” God’s presence and knowledge. The verse referenced simply confirms He is light, in Him there is no darkness. Thus He sees the good and the evil. He is the righteous Judge. You may be thinking of His Providence in which case, all that means when He opens our hearts to Him we see His work in our lives, and in creation. It is both convicting of sin and a humbling blessing resulting in pure joy and praise. At least that is how I interpreted his comments/verse selection. This we can all agree: God is not one dimensional and there is only one agenda: His. ❤️

Even if we assume that those Christ calls "workers of lawlessness" did in fact have correct theology, too many Scriptures indicate that mere intellectual assent is insufficient for salvation. After all, even the devils believe... and tremble.

I agree. I wrote this in another post, but I think the older generations twisted the meanings of scriptures so that they could ‘make provision for their flesh’ instead of obeying, and now we are seeing all of the fruit from their lies/seeds. I’m sure most of the people who call themselves ‘Christian’ will disagree with me, but the popular “mainstream” versions of what has been called Christianity in America for the last 80-100 years have been a complete lie and are getting worse. This current, overall ‘Christian’ message is merely a cleverly formed, deceiving, false ‘christian’ spin on living out the “American Dream”… The belief system that has the founder (Jesus Christ) say to do and obey a certain way of life, along with the rest of the New Testament also continue to say to live out that certain way, warning of the negative outcome throughout the New Testament if you don’t live out that way of life, then ‘miraculously’ in the early to mid 20th century, in the most self-indulgent nation on the earth (Babylon), the ‘priests and ministers’ realize ‘the truth’ and begin to say “No. No. Jesus did it for you on the Cross. You don’t have to live that way. He knew you couldn’t do it. You don’t have to love God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, or love your neighbor as yourself. You don’t have to do what Jesus or the disciples said you have to do. You can do what you want. It’s about you and your best life on the earth. You can continue to live a selfish, self-indulgent life and be accepted by God. Be sure to buy my book, oh and tithe and give liberally, God loves you….” is a complete lie of the antichrist spirit. The Bible says everyone will be held accountable for every idle word they say that doesn’t lead to loving the Father along with the ways they lived their lives that lead people away from God. We will all be judged according to what we do during our life on the earth. Jesus, the Christ, came to liberate us from sinning. Most people have been lied to for the last 80-100 years. Even Thayer’s Greek-English lexicon, which is in the back of most study bibles, says it clearly. Read 1 John 3:3-10 and then look up the Greek word airō in 1 John 3:5. It was translated saying ‘you know He (Jesus) came to “take away” our sins…’ yet “take away” is that word airō which really means that we are to stop sinning. Thayer’s lexicon says clearly that in 1 John 3:5 τὰς ἁμαρτίας ἡμῶν αἴρειν means Jesus came to cause our sins to cease (we no longer sin/miss the mark) while we enter fellowship with Christ and abide in that fellowship with Christ. Each human should examine their current lifestyle and thoughts and then think of James 3:16 “For where envy and self-seeking exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.” Envy and self-seeking are the root of “mainstream” Christianity. ‭ Look them up before denying the truth…we will be held accountable to the truth. We in America have been living in a society that denies the truth outright and celebrates lying/acting/presenting yourself to be what you’re not/hypocrisy. Christianity is about loving and truly worshiping the only God and true Father of life, while also honoring the Christ by loving ‘our neighbor’ as ourselves, in spirit and in truth. We are all human and none of us had a choice in our genetics or environment we were raised in. Christianity is not about us, the creations. It is not about us feeling good, or simply getting into heaven, or seeing a past relative. Christian only applies if you are a true worshiper, who truly loves God in spirit and in truth. Everything else is a lie to make a human not feel the anxiety from the knowledge of any impending, negative, ‘final’ judgement. Christianity is not; love the image of yourself and make up a belief system and false idea of a God that accepts you no matter how sinful and evil spirited you remain, while maybe doing a few charitable deeds here and there to quiet your conscience. Many, if not almost all, have it backwards in America. I think repent means repent, and of course, the end is near…

If God didn’t judge he wouldn’t be very loving.

It’s edgy and goes against the evangelical grain, so of course it will get him attention. He’s appealing to the world when that’s not what we are called to do. “The world will hate you” Brandon’s message isn’t one that will cause the world to hate him, it’s exactly the opposite.

Is that all we need to do? If God calls him, wether we pray for him or not, He will be saved with all the other accoutrements of the soteriological parameters, ergo. Justified, Sanctified and then Glorified. No one can be justified if not called according to his purpose.

We should pray but that is not all we should do. 1 Timothy 5:20 Them that sin rebuke before all, that others also may fear. The context speaks of rebuking church leaders who sin publicly.

I think a big issue is that sexual preference has been turned into an identity rather than a temptation for sin. Many may be tempted to be unfaithful, but they don’t then make this their identity.

Pray for Branden. We should pray he is convicted and turned away from the dangerous path he is on.

As a former gay im sad his lust is more important than accepting the bible and having repentance. I pray he feels the holy spirit and washes the feet of Jesus with his tears like I did.

On Galatians 1:8-9 The Apostle Paul said that those who preach another gospel that what we have received, let him be accursed. The goes on to say in the 10th verse that those who seek to please men are not the servants of God. You can read it yourself.
