@@cowboylike_zoeRadio 2 released a CD in 2015 of some of the best from Dermot O’ Leary’s Saturday sessions and it’s one of my fav CDs. Rae Morris has a cover of Moonage Daydream on it and it’s sublime.
Lucy holds every single harmony together so effortlessly. This cover really cemented for me how needed she is as a backing vocalist in this trio. Julien & her together especially make such beautiful harmonies. Also, Julien closing it off is perfect. They know just how to fit together. In love forever & grateful to be a lesbian in the era of Boygenius.

i always say that lucy is underrated for how much she holds it all together - this is weird? but it feel like she's hugging the song and the other boys to give them all space and support? she's going to be there steady and strong no matter what happens.

Why does it seem lesser to just say "Lucy's voice is butter/honey/silk," without having to misuse "literally"? The power of your comment lies in the metaphor, aka figure of speech -- a "literary device," the opposite of "literal." If you care about culture enough to praise vocal quality, the why eviscerate a term that helps us discuss culture more precisely?

is she playing the bass notes? They sound really low, I thought it was an actual bass guitar at first, but I know she tunes down to d flat sometimes. Edit: looks like it's the same guitar from the Not Strong Enough BBC session which is definitely tuned down to d-flat. I guess it's how it's recorded, there's a lot of rich bass tone on it.
their little glances at each other… my heart can’t take this omg
I’m constantly in awe of Lucy Dacus
Lucy's lil nod cos she knows they killed it
Fits Lucy's voice really well
Julien Baker singing "look how far we've come, my baby" has given me enough serotonin and self-esteem to drag myself out of bed for anything between the next 6 days or 6 years.
The girl in the back is secretly a friken master guitar player. Cuz that picking she was doing was friken crazy

Man, boygenius really nails these acoustic country covers. These are songs that I think of very fondly, this is the music my mom listened to as a kid, as I'm sure their parents did. To see it covered with such beauty and respect for the craft is so refreshing. Thank you boygenius ❤
