I’ve noticed the cable wear myself on the ss cables. Starting to get slight serving separation at the cam. Seems to be common on pretty much all the dead lock models. The last 3-4 years. No big deal…. I usually only run stock strings and cables one season and go custom after that. The guy who makes strings for me , does an excellent job and I’ve never had any short term issues out of his strings .

@James Bowtech fanboy here. I've owned and loved many Bowtech's through the years, but haven't bought anything newer than 2018. I have a question. I appreciate your honesty and would like to know more about the cables dying early (I shoot allot too), and what year models to avoid. *you said it started a few years back but that's ok because, there are still several older models I would love to own* Even though I can work on my own bows, I just don't want the cable hassle or cost of having them replaced. If you see this, thanks for your review and your time, Greg.

I too own both the Revolt X and the SR350, they have been my first two flagship bow purchases and I have been happy with both so far. I am not a brand guy, I just prefer to tinker and maintain my bows myself and Bowtech arguably has the best tech and innovation for just that. As for the speed, this bow is very efficient and does seem to like heavier arrows. Didn't chrono mine, but at 69# and 28" draw (performance mod), my 505g arrows landed me a 280fps sight tape that is accurate out to about 80yds. I have seen a Ohio Premier Archery get 348fps at IBO spec and 258fps at 70# and 28.5" draw from a 597g arrow, which is cookin' for a heavy setup. As for the cable situation, I have gotten my custom strings to last me now 2k plus shots in the past 3 months with it in the elements hunting, all on the performance mod. I am fortunate that my father-in-law makes strings, so it was trial and error, but we got this 3rd set down. That performance mod is harsh on the cables for sure, but it ultimately comes down to the string and string maker as well. At 28", I got used to the performance draw cycle quick, and I like the dead back wall that I have to physically push out of to let down. I would recommend this bow to anyone who wants efficiency with heavier setups and who prefers to tune and tinker on their own. A lot of great bows out there and this is definitely one.

After narrowing my choices down to the SR 350 and the Hoyt XR7, I went for the SR 350. I had a hard time believing that a "speed bow" could feel as smooth as the SR 350.
