thank you for the review! - Though most of us don't need 350fps for your avg. hunt, I'm sure all of us still want companies to deliver what they promise, especially when you spend $1,299 (+ tax) on their products.

Thank you for your honest reviews! The manufacturers need to start being as honest, for the prices of the flagship bows, we deserve honest numbers! And I know, I bought a flagship bow last year, and after all the add-ons, paid much more for it than any rifle/scope combo I have ever bought! We all need to hold the manufacturers accountable. Just be honest!

I like the way you present the information to the viewer. It doesn’t really matter if the chronograph is off or not as long as every bow is being tested through the same one, it shows the variance between models and deviation from published speeds. Independent testing would hold the manufacturers accountable.

One video I would be interested in that you’ve done some of with elk shape is a start to finish bow build with the details of knots used, what else you’ve seen, why you do the little things you do to build the most accurate bows you can. And then some other videos on start to finish tuning, after paper tuning what can guys do to ensure when hunting they are dead on. You’re a wealth of info and looking forward to future vids

From what I’ve read the IBO speeds testing allows for some variance in draw length, draw weight, and arrow weight. All the mfg use the most beneficial end of those variances and I bet the mfg use the fastest chrono they have as well. If the ibo would tighten the variances, it would help the consumer. Thank you for the reviews. Your testing and descriptions are spot on.

IBO at one point was tested on a 31” draw and the lightest arrow that they could fire at the heaviest weight draw. Or atleast that’s what I have been told in the past but the kicker is the mission series by Mathew’s was tested on a 29” draw to show slower speeds than their flag ship bows. Idk if anything in that is true just what I have heard before

IBO Standard: Draw weight: 80 pounds +/-2 lbs, Arrow weight: 5 grains per pound of draw weight, Draw Length: NONE !!!!! The ATA on the other hand does specify: 70# draw weight +/-.2 Arrow weight of 5 grains per pound and 30" draw + 1/4" but now below 30" What we all think of as IBO is really ATA. The bow in the video can probably do 350+ fps with an inch or so more draw length and more poundage.

Great to see that your channel has become as mature that manufacturers take your reviews seriously and reach out to you. The best acknowledgement for your hard work next to all the subscribers and followers. To have trustworthy sources of validated information is so valuable for archers (all customers). Manufacturers should make better use and collaborate more with pro shops, who actually know their customers and who offer them (specially the ones on KZread) a direct marketing channel all over the world. Specially as we all know that specs on brochures, no matter which product, are always too positive. They can make the difference. Greetings from the Netherlands 🇳🇱 and forgive me supporting my local pro shop as shipping costs from the States are sky high.

Thanks for the update ! I own two Bowtech bows , and I love them both ! I like the SR 350 , but was a little disappointed that it would not hit 350 ...a product should perform as billed !! Perhaps they should name it the SR 340 , no shame there , it is still fast ! Of course , if it isn't accurate , 400fps doesn't mean a thing ! I am looking to purchase a new bow and the SR 340 ...is still a great option for me . All my Bowtech bows deliver satisfying performance. Thanks again for your diligence.

Podium archery is the most real guy out there. He sales all these bows and gives a strait up pound for pound comparison of all bows as accurately as and fairly as he can. I agree all manufacturers stretch the numbers and we all know it. I feel like a more strict standard would be greatly beneficial to the consumer. I wouldn’t even mind if they just said how they got the numbers, for example if it weighs 4.6 bare bow just say that instead of having a bow weighing in at 5.3 on a review. If they get 347 FPS with a bare string on 72lb just say that’s how it got there. Honesty is always popular and glad MFJJ has the balls to put it all out there. Thanks man

There is so much hype in IBO speeds it's ridiculous! In almost 40 years of being in the archery game target/hunting I have yet to see a bow that will actually make the speeds listed! The closest one I seen was the old Hoyt deviator from the late 90s! Funny thing is at 70 lb 30-in draw and a 350 grain arrow it hit 328 ft per second in 1998! Today archery companies brag about getting that kind of speed from newest technology yet we really haven't progressed much more in speed stability yes, shoot ability yes, but so much in speed!

Very good. Very fair. I own a Bowtech Invasion. I've had it for a lot of years. It's a great bow. And of course, I'm well aware that every manufacturer mis states the speed of their bows. But some do it more than others. We all know this. I expect it. But what the bow companies need to realize is that when their product shoots 20 or more fps slower than they say it does, they are only hurting themselves. The archery community is not that large. We all talk. We watch videos and read reviews. When this news gets out, hunters don't buy bows and very quickly a manufacturer can be in trouble. That's exactly what happened to Obsession when they consistently lied about their performance for several years in a row. It just about put them out of business. And I agree, the industry should have an independent testing organization that could hold manufacturers to account.

Hey MFJJ I appreciate all your videos. I think the info and speed tests provide excellent apples and apples comparisons to the bows. I do think your chrono (maybe it’s the brand or type, maybe the elevation) is slow compared to any chrono I shoot through. All the times I shoot through a pro-chrono or another brands I am coming in around 5-10 faster than your speeds. It could be elevation as I am sitting at 6000ft. It also might be just the difference between brands. Anyways I appreciate the comparisons regardless!

Thanks for putting in the extra work. For as much as the bow hunting community has grown in my life it sure would be nice if there was an independent association to approve manufacturers specs. Like weight, speed, and draw weight. Just because bows are so expensive, you should have a true knowledge of what your paying for. That being said speed is one of the last things I’m concerned with in a modern bow.

While in the grand scheme of things we as a society need to be more focused on lies of more consequential impact (eg everything reported on in mainstream media), and being really happy that the archery and bow hunting industries over index in their relative concentration of made in USA products (thank you sooo much), we nevertheless should just speak truthfully about bow performance. Why not just say what the equipment does? It’s still all amazing stuff which shouldn’t suffer from marketing claims which damage credibility.

I do agree with you that there should be an independent testing for speed on bows to keep them all honest. I understand that all companies post IBO speeds at 3xx FPS with numbers that are not accurate and I don’t agree with what. So with what you are doing is what the industry needs to keep them all accountable for what they are marketing their products at. MFJJ I do thank you for what you are doing and showing us all.

You can tell by your reviews that you are advertising for your shop and self brand. Most of youtube is really just advertising for products. Editing in lifestyle influencer garbage not actual reviews. So thank you and keep it up its appreciated!

Thanks for another good video. Ideally they should all use an independent agency to rate the speed. Downside to that is it would add expense to the bow price most likely.

Keep doing what you do, really appreciate your unbiased approach and no BS reviews. Just a quick note...I recently drew back a new V3 with the weight scale and no arrow nocked...my scale blew up and my bow dry fired, luckly wasn't even half way through my draw, so string derailed but no damage detected by my bow shop. Just thought I'd pass along, those scales aren't indestructible. Any one else ever have that happen?

Thanks for the heads up. Just ordered a cheaper scale(25$) on amazon, planning on using it maybe 2-3 times so didnt really care about quality n even the cheap 0.01g ones are accurate enough so no need to spend 100+ in my case. Probably wouldnt have drawn it back without an arrow, but u never know. Now ill make sure to always put an arrow in there!

Yeah had one blow up on me before. Felt way too cheap for me to trust it so I always nock an arrow and point out my garage door towards the grass. Luckily my precautions paid off.

I Used to work in the industry for a well known manufacturer and one thing that's overlooked is speeds are determined differently. Shooting machine, no D-loop and very possibly a bare shaft. That said you do a great job of reviewing bows and keep it up.

That imo isn't very practical, bows ought to be tested in the same way they are intended for use.
