Backyard Bows Bowtech SR 350 Review

www.avantlink.com/click.php?t...
This weeks bow is from Bowtech, SR 350 is a well equipped speed bow that suits all the hunters needs. Where will they go from here, I'm excited to see what Bowtech has in store for the future.
Correct Mods? So after messing around with the original mods (22f) and what they are calling the correct mod(22f2) here is my conclusion. Speed test with my 500g arrow went from max 282 (22f) to 286(22f2) so 4 fps faster, draw cycle is very similar, and I have to say the new mod (22f2) wants to jump a little on you while holding. Seems to me Bowtech put the best mod for the SR350 on the bow originally got some kick back from the first hands on consumers about the bows speed and why is it called the SR350 when it should be the SR345, so they said ohh it actually has the wrong mod. So I plan to keep the original mods on the bow and in the comfort setting for hunting this fall. I choose comfort over speed any day, especially when it comes to hold. Original mods (22f) on comfort setting with my specs and 500g arrow max was 274fps which is plenty fast for me. Also I feel that the original mods draw cycle is a hair smoother.

I recently went to a bow shop and shot several different bows. I purchased my first Bowtech bow, the SR350. I'm really loving it so far. The draw cycle is fantastic and it is dead in the hand with each shot. I'm keeping mine in the comfort setting, it is plenty fast for me. Thanks for the awesome review, new subscriber!

Great review as always, I shot this bow today. Loved the draw cycle loads up a bit towards the end before a slight dump into the valley, dead in the hand...I ended up buying the SS34, for the comfort feel, and stability, but man it was a tough decision.

I wanna try the sr350 and ss34 mostly because a leftover new 350 can be had for like $600. Was the ss34 that much smoother than the sr350 to warrant the price difference? Thanks man.

To quote the best pistol shooter of all time, "If it's comfortable (form), you're doing it wrong." -Jerry Miculek It made me think of that when you basically said the grip isn't comfortable, but then said you shoot it really well. Comfort, to me is a byproduct of performance. Doesn't matter if it's comfortable if you don't shoot it really well. I've shot bows that the grip felt amazing in the hand, but too much contact made it much more difficult to shoot consistently. Not to say comfort isn't notable, but in my eyes comfort doesn't matter when rating performace. Appreciate all the work you put in your videos. Awesome job!

  • @BackyardBows

I seem to very my draw length a little with different bows, some 29.5 some 29. Since we have been shooting so many, I’ve realized more and more it changes a little with the axle to axle length. I may have needed that half inch with the sr350.

I loved the draw of this bow on comfort but I was absolutely turned off by the bow on performance. The massive increase in draw weight/hump in the last couple inches of draw was enough for me to walk away. Then again I compared this draw cycle to the omnia which is not fair IMO as the omnia draw is pretty damn good. And the omnia shot 300fps when you reviewed it so better draw and 20fps faster is a no brainer to me. Compared to the rx4 turbo the rx4 turbo has a better draw cycle than the sr350 hands down but the valley on the rx4 is kinda 2016 as its the same as the carbon defiant turbo and I would choose the sr350 over the rx4 turbo. It comes down to personal preference but I can shoot my omnia at 72# all day and my rx4 turbo kicked my ass at 71# so I turned it down to 66#. Although I prefer the draw cycle of the rx4 turbo vs the sr350 I would daily shoot the sr350 before the rx4 turbo but I would choose the omnia hands down before the rx4 turbo or sr350. So omnia>sr350>rx4 turbo. Stepping into the hoyt twin turbo it would be omnia>twin turbo>sr350>rx4 turbo but honestly unless you get a good deal on a hoyt second hand I don't feel hoyt is applicable to your average archer. Hoyt has done nothing to wow me into paying 500+$ more than your other flagship bows. Hoyt has literally priced themselves into decline IMO. FYI I would consider the ERA before the RX7 as well.

Hey I have a Xpedition Smoke. You have Omen and SR350 94 and Smoke 92. Is that because it’s so jumpy? Because my Smoke draws buttery smooth. It is Jumpy but I fixed that by adjusting the limb stops. To me, my Smoke is the smoothest drawing bow I’ve ever shot. Just gotta tinker with it where it doesn’t wanna take off. Enjoy the reviews man!!

So out of the almost ten or so flagship bows we’ve done they have ranged from 86-94, and most of the budget bows fall in the 72-85 range. We will keep releasing a bow a week but there will be a wide range of grades.

    Жыл бұрын

No offense taken I think at the beginning we were setting each bow up the same 29.5, after so many we realized not every bow set up to the same draw length is actually the same, example the elite omnia from last week I was almost at 30.5 inches, so each bow I tinker with the draw length a little more now but I agree I could have used a half inch more, I also like a slight bend in my arm guess that’s just preference

@@BackyardBows just throwing out my 2 cents on the DL. You are bending the bow arm to maintain an anchor point position. The nock is past your eye. If you straightened your bow arm and re-adjusted the anchor the nock of the arrow would move forward or more under your eye. You were shooting good so that's ok too. :)

Very Well Done !! Comprehensive Review. The 'Form Letter Review' 6-10 arrows -- 90% through the Chrony, DONE !! Doesn't match IBO (Shocking !!)... move to the next. smfh I wanna know how it feels to shoot 200 ARROWS in an afternoon !!! What's the shooting experience ?? What's the the draw curve ? How does it hold/balance ? How does the shot feel ? Is it forgiving ? Am I consistent downrange ? I picked up my first compound bow (58 years old) 8 months ago -- It's never too late; IMHO, if you're not asking and evaluating these questions, then I'm sorry for your loss. I shot the SR 350 (bare bow) in the shop 2 weeks ago for about an hour on Comfort with the New Mods (I currently own a Solution SS -- no bow on earth shoots as smooth as this bow !! and #2 isn't close), I felt a Tiny Vibration and not as Smooth as the SS (Shocking !!) but Plenty Smooth enough; but 'THE SHOT' was SUBLIME - the shop tech hadn't shot it either -- I handed it to him and said tell me what you think ?? Wish I had a picture of the look on his face, Lols. If I would purchase this bow, it would solely be for 3D; I DON'T SHOOT BAMBI'S !!! A little 'PRICEY' but I'll be searching around for the SR 344 !!! -- will update if anything happens. Thanks Again !! John
