Haha enjoyed the video! Good stuff man! We've been installing these bosch heat pump inverters and they are amazing! Keep up the good content!
Great work man. You really made that look easy.
NIce work Zack. Good Job on that ductwork static. Love the open layout!

Installing HVAC ductwork in unconditioned air space. You can throw 20% efficiency out the window. Great unit and install though
good work, I am considering putting the same unit in my house

I would only do it in a drier climate, it does not do well with humid conditions

@@HVACShopTalk Thanks. I am in North Carolina also. Does the blower speed and outdoor unit just not modulate enough?
good tech tip NEVER use ink pins when laying out registers on painted walls or walls that will be painted. the ink will bleed though the paint if you ever make a mistake
question, how did you figure out the proper tap 2 speed? Also, what filter size are you using (ACTUAL)? I can't be sure if bosch's manual size is for actual or nominal. We have a 5 ton and it says 20x22. We got one with that size NOMINAL, and the actual is a bit smaller and kind of seems to be too small for the air handler. Curious on your take? Thank you.
Sweet unit

It has issues with dehumidifying the home down here unfortunately, but I hope to get it tuned in eventually.

Thought the Bosch IDS has the dip switch to lower coil temp for humidity control.
Late hello here! I am looking to have this installed in my modular home, which has flex cross over ducting in the crawlspace to connect my two mainline metal duct runs. Is there any restriction on this from Bosch? Or advisory against it? I'm waiting on installers to come to a consensus before I feel confident purchasing.
I have the 3 ton 1.0 version; with 333 to 338 psi on the high side and 125 on the low side; sub cooling 10 right on target but the superheat is 11.5 to 12 (manual says it has to be bigger than 12 and lower than 18) Also its about $100 in electric bill per month at 20c/watt including tax; I am trying to figure out if the system is charged properly or if its something wrong with it. Can you give me some insight? as a point of reference? also my condenser outside exhaust temp is about 15-20 degree difference
Are you still fighting humidity issues or have you worked it out?
Are these systems just plug n play. I have an old ac until with a heat pump and it's time to make a change... I want to make sure there won't be any compatibility issues
Yikes, at 1:23.. I see a sizable crack above the bathroom doorway. Hope that wasn't a structural issue. I've flipped too many houses recently and know those cracks all too well
Do you know how many cycles per hour you are getting? Any idea what is causing unit to not dehumidify well?

My assumption is the latent capacity of the machine is very low. Conversations with friends that have installed these supports this assumption.
I have the 1.0 18 seer model 3 ton. I have a Honeywell t-10 2 stage thermostat. I ran t2 from the stat to the 4th tap on x13 and runs 2nd tap on first stage from the board! Amazing comfort and energy savings here in Phoenix AZ! Your gonna love it!

I have some issues with this machine dehumidifying, but I bet it is perfectly suited for your climate. The 2.0 has a two stage blower standard, so you kind of turned yours into a 2.0 with that mod. Sounds like something I would do!

@@nhfdtb I am having humidity issues in NC and I am trying to keep it at least 40-45 and mine can get up to 65-70% humidity have an ecobee premium T-Stat even with the Bosch TStat I was getting the same issue.😥😥😥

@@chrishaunbaldwin5013 if everything is set up correctly it will still be around 50 to 55 prevent. The question is witch system do you have, if the air flow is set for the tonnage the lode requires, and the duct work is the correct size for the tonnage. Also is the duct seal, is the in door unit in a attic or crawl space. If the system has high humidity I would look for a Bosch Accredited Dealer to check the system out. I service the Durham area.
Hi, if you could make a video on how much cfm we need for a room, I was told that 1 cfm for 1 square foot but what it has high ceilings
@HVACShopTalk
3 жыл бұрын
CFM per room depends on the results of a complete manual J load calculation
What thermostat?
good install but should show more of the install
Hi, can you share how many BTU's and the price of the unit? thanks.
@HVACShopTalk
3 жыл бұрын
I won't share cost, but it is a nominal 36,000 BTUs.
Luckily a 1/4 fits but they're metric...haha. Also you can run that as low as 350 CFM for dehumidification
@HVACShopTalk
3 жыл бұрын
Its run down below 300 CFM/ton right now believe it or not.
Nice looking install Zack! That Bosch outdoor unit looks really nice but as much as I hate to say it that air handler reminds me of an Ameristar. Maybe I’m wrong but the way the cabinet and evaporator coil looks that’s what it reminds me of. At least the Bosch will have an expansion valve unlike the pistons the Ameristars have. My boss sometimes sells Ameristar on low budget jobs and I hate them. It’s the cheapest crap I’ve ever installed. I guess Oxbox has taken it’s place now and I’ve installed several of those as well. I’ve also installed a few Run Tru splits too. The air handler looks just like a Trane tem without the paint job but the condensing unit looks like trash. I’d rather stick to Trane or maybe Carrier but I don’t get to pick what I put in.
@HVACShopTalk

These Bosch systems have a very close physical resemblance to Ameristar. I am not sure how many components actually are the same (like coils) but the chassis design seems to be the same.
Should’ve used bar type registers. Allow more airflow and look better

Looking at R407D while charging R410A. Not a single word about it. :)
And weigh in the charge for what’s needed beyond the 15ft and no need to force into 100%.

Lonnie is right, I had to push it to 100% for charging and confirmation of proper charge.

You can do it both ways, the install manual gives you pressures to go by, most inverters dont, strictly weight
Media filter? It will pay for itself with the 3 returns..
@HVACShopTalk

Maybe I will do that at some point. We were stretched thin during this build so I couldn't add all the stuff I wanted to add to this system.
Hopefully the heat is working well. I am sure this video will sell a handful for Bosch's Chinese factory.

Not a fan of the Bosch units? How come? I haven't seen any yet. I'm curious if they are any good.
@HVACShopTalk

I will elaborate. This system is having significant trouble dehumidifying my house. I have seen RH% well into the seventies. To combat this I have lowered the blower speed to tap one (most likely 800-900 CFM) and disabled the machine from staging up from the thermostat. It should be noted I live in coastal NC, where it is quite humid.

HVAC Shop Talk I’m sure you’ve already thought about this or tried it but have you jumped yI and y2 at the condenser but kept the blower at the lowest setting possible?
@DavidMay2nd
3 жыл бұрын
Tstat on the Bosch should only be on off switch. Remove all intelligence features from tstat because the unit haz intenigence built into control board. And there is a dip switch setting to lower coil temp to combat dehumidification issues.
You have all this nice stuff and your line set looks horrible
