Glad to hear you like it. My A/C guy just ordered one for me to install in the fall. Same 4-ton. I'm hoping the more complicated multi-speed blowers wont be problematic long-term.

Get a hole cutter! Just kidding, i'm still fond of cutting metal by hand even after all these years. That Bosch system looks awesome, wish i would have installed one back when I bought my house. Keep up the good work sir.

Another great video Mikey! When will the LGBosh shirts be available ?
Great job Mike. If I smell Spray 9, I am immediately feel like I am back at sea. We use a ton of Spray 9 in the Navy! Out of toothpaste...try some Spray 9....out of hot sauce, hit the american chop suey with some Spray 9.
Does the Bosch need that platform if you have a concrete slab on grade for the condenser? Does it need air below?
Another good informative video Mike. Mat I ask what if the 2.0 ids can typically use less than the 19 amps than the one in this video?
Mike, have you installed any package units yet?
Do you know how low of outdoor temperatures Bosch HP will heat ?
Hello there, I saw the unit running a 19 amps that is a lot of electricity. I was thinking the unit was running at 9 to 12 amps. Conventional 4 tons.. heat pumps I think run at 20 or more depending on the brand. How is this provides electricity savings can you elaborate ? Also I saw the back on the unit, briefly. can you install a easy start to this unit to run it on Portable generator ? Specially my area the electricity goes out frequently. Thank you.

Is the silver solder approved for installation on Bosch?
Do you have any problems installing the 3 ton on 7/8 suction line?
Hey Mike, Any problems with the nest thermostat on any bosch heat pumps you installed?
have the hybrid . maybe you can tell me why it screams like a banshee in heat pump mode and it isn't even that cold out! and for being modulating it only seems to go one speed, high.
Bosch #1 choice it's safe needs to be in every home 🏡
I love Bosch By far my favorite Hvac system! I always try to nudge my clients over to the bosch if the finances are there for them! Out here in Arizona its hard to compare other units with bosches power savings and whisper quiet functionality.
Hi- thanks for posting these videos. I have a Bosch and love it. Do you have a preferred thermostat that you pair with these systems? I have an ecobee connected with the Bosch system. Not sure if I’m getting the full benefits out my system with this thermostat.
Would love to switch over to a Bosch IDP or IDS 2.0 and remove my dual fuel package unit
I just started looking into it. 60 amp breaker. Don’t you need a 6 gauge or 4 gauge wire.
What was the sq ft on the house for a 5 ton?
Thanks -- I'm curious about the Bosch IDS 2 but have a question about sizing: Currently, I have two single stage AC very old systems, both 2 tons, with one being a furnace and the other a heat strip for heat, . I want to replace both with a Bosch IDS 2 3 ton but baffled on what size the air handler should be? Should I match the air handler to the heat pump which would make them 3 tons even though what I currently have is a 2 ton, each zone cooling and heating 900 sq? I can see being oversized helping with heat but what about being oversized for cooling and that resulting in humidity?
Hey Mikey what was that stuff you were using to clean those scuff marks off the wall?
#LOVE BOSCH
We love Bryant Extreme!! Lol
Hey Mikey, loved your video. I am in the market to buy a new heat pump system which will replace my 30 year old hvac that came with the house. I am now leaning towards Bosch 2.0 after seeing this video. How large was the home where you installed this 4-ton system ? My home is 3375 sq ft two story home in bay area , ca built in 1994 and I am considering two 4-ton Bosch system , one for each zone. My old system was 5-ton each and the installer is recommending to stick to same capacity or go no lower than 4-ton. But based on some help from an online site who do Manual-J, it seems that even 4-ton will be more than what I need. Problem is that no contractor here offers to do Manual-J. any guidance from you will be appreciated.
I just got one, not whisper quiet. Outdoor unit has quite a humm. I can hear it through the whole house
My next system will be a Bosch IDS 2.0
I like them pads. They cut too very Sharp
How expensive are these bosh systems
Mikey Liked the Bosch installation really nice. I have a question was that 16 in round return the only one that needed for the job??

4 ton, 16" flex. No comment since I am only a keyboard warrior.
Does the 18 seer unit feature the same 10 speed ecm blower motor on the outdoor unit as this 20 seer? Or is just single speed? I'm curious which outdoor unit would be quieter since Bosch lists both 18 and 20 seer at the same db rating.

Nonsense- can’t extrapolate to to places like dc and Atlanta with even Long Island. And NB Bosch gets that hi seer rating by pushing the sensible load emphasis. Don’t get me wrong - thsi is a great unit in some respects- price, quiet, flexible t stat choice etc . Bosch is arguably the best choice in places like phoenix, but also arguably eclipsed by any decent fully communicating system in places like DC Atlanta, let alone Miami and New Orleans Houston. And let’s be honest, Bosch will sell to anyone, anyone, so chose your dealer carefully. E.g. Lennox really restricts who can sell their unit, carrier and daikin to some degree, but that means for consumer they are doing some screening before you get involved. And make sure your pricing is considerably less than a fully communicating unit from carrier, Lennox trane- like at least 1,000 dollars less, or what the point>summary- Bosch is ALWASY going to be an outstanding choice for climates without disproportionate latent loads, but is NEVER going to be the best choice with large latent loads, BY DESIGN !

@johnwhite2576

You should never have to pay as much for a Bosch as you do for a fully communicating system. Bosch , a European country where humidity not an issue, til steers.their design to produce a hi seer rating to draw customers in-nothign wrong with that, just beware if you are in a climate to latent load . Daikin on the other hand, gets screwed with new seer ratings as they balance their design o ensure latent loads cna be handled well. This necessarily lowers serf rating as seer screws toward sensible loads in its rating system.

Just got one of these installed along with a new oil furnace (no gas in my area). Not sure what to think yet. It's nice to not have to use oil all the time but I cant say the house gets the nice warm feeling with the heat pump. In the 40s outside today and I tried to get the house to 72 just to see if it could do it but it took forever, never got there so I just set it to 70, and gave up.
the board tells you the amps..😂
Only units I ever seen to return noticeably lower electric bills for the customer after installation

These comments not inherently contradictory. Heat pumps are Great solutions even if you hate global warming.I. Teh right climates. Climate zones are ever changing. E0 yes ago woudl not have recommended any heat pump in mid Atlantic-now with no,off and warmer climate, they are easy recommend . Clealray would not recommend in Maine, Vermont, most New Hampshire, western mass, New York much above New York City. Mikey pipes in Long Island with a more temperate climate and getting warmer every year with global warming.probably will handle most winters . Also, if you get a Mitsubishi, ye s you cna certainly expand that climate range . And of course further south, makes little sense to do anything but a heat pump.
