    Most of my customers can't afford to be efficient. I install single stage HPs, something that can probably be easily fixed at midnight with parts on my van and something I don't have to study during a blizzard.

    Interesting. These appear to be a clone of a Midea unit. Pioneer makes this one too. Kinda funny that a German brand is ok with putting their name on it. So did Carrier, who switched from Gree to Midea in the past couple of years.

    That Bosch system is old school technology from over 35 years ago in Japan nothing new. In many of the minisplits for the past few decades some of the big manufactures have always used one larger compressor and then through software in the inverter control the output to make it a 3 ton or 4 ton 6ton or 8 ton. it’s nice not having to use gauges just turn on your wireless Bluetooth everything to your computer laptop screen and you have more information than even a I Manifold or I Connect. What’s also nice is the air handler’s can be 2 to 3 different sizes in one package for example. When I install my air handlers I have a certain package size and just by changing EEPROM chip it could be a 3 ton a 4 or a 5 ton out of the same air handler. I have some manufactures you just plug in with your laptop and using software you change the tonnage of the air handler. Some of the systems can also have 200 percent of tonnage capacity of air handlers installed on the outdoor condenser. In my home in Shanghai with my wife and all her family members home The systems have been installed and running flawlessly for more than 20 years on the homes that I’ve been in including solar water heating high-efficiency gas stove ranges and high-efficiency tankless water heater‘s all that technology is been big over there 30 years ago, America is always the last to catch up in this area of technology. Also for more than 30 years now as you call the house you run the waste gas to heat exchanger to heat your hot water for your house with no extra money spent heating water because it’s a waste product from air-conditioning.

    So do you think it takes the outdoor unit that long to ramp up every time, or is only after powers been lost?? Is there a special startup procedure?

  • @tyracz

    @tyracz

    Жыл бұрын

    So when you first install it, you press FORCE, it will ramp up to 71Hz....YES, 71HZ.... :) it will run in cooling so you can dial in your charge and confirm everything is good. After that you press FORCE again and it goes back to normal. Unit in cooling is looking at 42F evap coil temp, if you need to drop your evap temp to cool better OR if you have house with humidity control issues - i had customer that complaing that house is at 61% RH, when i switched toggle SW4 to ON - that drtops evap temp to 35F, house RH dropped to 48%. Inverter is controlling condenser speed as needed, it ramps up right away but only to speed that is needed, which corresponds to evap temp. Unit on the video is IDS 1.0 , there is also IDS 2.0 which color is more silver. Paired with IDS 2.0 Aira Handler , you can get SEER 20 system. I install bunch of those here in PA with 15kW emergency heat for those days that are brutal, but until now, only 2 customers had to use it, and it was 73F in their house. I did not have any boards failed yet or any other components.

  • @billbuckman

    @billbuckman

    2 жыл бұрын

    You can put gauges on it if you want it there is no stipulation saying do not Hook age is the system this is just showing you an easy way to check to the pressures of the system without gauges but it's always a good idea to connect your cages to make sure that the transducers are reading correctly in the digital panel display just cuz it says it's 140 or 110 suction pressure does not mean that's actually what it's reading what you connect your gauges cuz the transducers it could be off calibration some so to answer the question does not hurt to attach gauges to verify the digital reading matches your gauge pressures

    Ajax2341 not 100% sure about compressor I know that it is a 3-phase variable speed compressor that has a big box rectifier right next to it to take it from ac voltage to DC voltage because the compressor will speed up and slow down just like mini-split compressors but I'm pretty sure it's a scroll thanks for commenting

    I would hate to pay the repair bill on the monstrosity. $1500 circuit board? might as well change the entire machine. inverter tech is great for heatpumps in cold climates, but to be viable they have to get the cost down. the other problem is that the components come from asia even if the machine is made in us or canada; kill the manufacturing jobs and with the ripple effects there won't be too many people who can afford to buy these machines.
