Hi 🙂 Thank you for the info, This is the second time I had to Repair my Bosh Dishwasher, The first time I thought the water valve was bad, Everything pointed to a bad Water valve, I replaced the valve to no Avail, Found out that the electrical connector was corroded inside the plastic connector, I cut out the connector and used wire butt connectors, Fixed 😋 This second time was not the magnet on the door lock but the reed switch was stuck, i tapped the door where the reed switch was at with the plastic handle on a screwdriver, That fixed it, it starts now 🥰 you pointed me in the right Direction, Thank You very much, Chellie, I am a 68 year young, Retired Female Industrial Operating Engineer ,but I still look 35 I thank the Lord For that 🥰

My 500 series Bosch wouldn't run this morning after having had no previous issues since installing about 11 months ago. I pulled it apart and tried to reposition the magnet within the plastic housing with no results. I then cut off the portion of housing that held the magnet, set the magnet back into the small depression and it started working again! Really appreciate your video. It saved me from a dreaded service call.

Your solution wasn't the fix for my problem but got me thinking when you mentioned the door closing. I did notice a bit of pressure required to close it. So I looked at how the dishes were stacked. That's when I saw that a dish protruded from the basket in the back. Once rearranged, the dishwasher worked just fine. Thank you!

We have a Bosch dishwasher. Only the auto wash & power lights are flashing, & when I push other buttons, nothing happens & it won’t turn on even I try to use auto. Also it did not completely drain. Our property was hit by lightening the same day causing damage to well, water pressure tank, toilets & faucets so unsure if dishwasher was damaged. We shut breaker off For 30 min then tried again but nothing changed. Any ideas

The lightning may have damaged the dishwasher controller. Can you press start for 5 seconds to see if it will reset ?

Thank you! This fixed my problem. I did need to move my magnet further to the back of the recess to get the system to acknowledge it. This took another few minutes to figure out, but still resulted in the dishwasher functioning again.

Thank you, for the suggestion of the door latch. My door lost one of its springs so it fell hard towards floor which affected the latching mechanism. I have fixed the springs before and fortunately I've gotten about 10 years of good service out of it so far. I was worried when I saw the lights come on but would not start. Once I fixed the latch, per your suggestion, she started up like a champ. No, I won't get dishpan hands. Thanks!

Great video and although it didnt fix my problem specifically it lead me to the answer. PS this can also be caused by someone replacing the large utensils racks on the top shelf slightly forward of their normal position. The gray add-on pieces for the top rack on both sides can be out of position preventing door from closing.

Very helpful, thank you. I was able to push mine more tightly and it started. I suspect that the magnet fix will have to be done in the future. I was wondering if I couldn’t just add a second magnet, without removing the housing. A slim, strong magnet might do the trick.

My Bosch dishwasher wouldn't start. Lights were on... pushed reset... No go. Pulled out plug under sink, and waited a minute or so. Inserted plug again...BINGO!!! Washer started. I'm a hero...🙂

I thought there was a problem with the door shutting when I first had this problem. I've since found that I have to hard reset the dishwasher in order to get it to start; there is nothing wrong with the door latch. The problem started within 60 days of buying it.

That’s odd. I know that if you pour in a cup of water to the filter area when it won’t start, that it should start after that.

Step 1 - Make sure none of the dishes are keeping the wash baskets from going all the way in. I had a pan on the middle shelf. Its handle was sticking out the back by about 3/4". It was just enough to keep the shelf from going all the way in. I moved the pan, and viola, it worked fine.

Hello from Sweden. Thank you for your troubles. I've had starting problems on our Bosch Ultra Silence 2015 model, which seemed to be latch related. I first tried by adding an extra magnet, crossed my fingers - and it worked. Or so I thought - it didn't the next time (probably the extra magnet was too weak, you may need another super magnet?). I freed the original magnet from latch case as you recommended here, and I think I do not have a door/latch problem any more. But I have some other problem with the Start button that is VERY intermittent. I press it time and time again, press other buttons, press start again, nothing happens, and then all off a sudden, it starts up. It does not correlate with anything I do, just by chance. Some kind of glitch fault, is all I can think of.

The new ones, or the front panel ones, have a plastic frame so the magnet trick won't work. I tried adding some additional magnets, but no go.

Yep, that was it. I had to really push the door closed hard and hold it to get it to work. That is not a very good design, but I will remedy that tomorrow.

Question my Bosch says add salt and rinse agent...i have no place to add salt. I added rinse agent but it still blinks add salt and agent. It still will not turn on at all.

Hi I have a Bosch SMU50E55AU/55 and there is no power at all it just doesn’t power up it’s stopped for No apparent reason. I can’t see anywhere how to diagnose the issue? any chance you can help me on that?

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel There is NO POWER beyond the power cord going into the washer. I used a power test on the cord and looked at the power schematic but didn't find a fuse, nor any charred cables under the machine or in the door.

I have moved the magnet and now I'm able to get the door closed properly and panel to turn on. However when I hit start it just blinks the time. I hear nothing start. Any ideas? I can change fuctions after a reset but after I hit start does nothing but blinks time?

Hi Jack, Try unplugging it for five hours and then plug it back in to see if it will reset. You might also try pressing two of the buttons on the control panel at the same time that show underneath and small letters cancel/strain to help reset the computer

Hi. I use quick wash cycle (of 29 minutes) everyday. In my machine after 15 minutes the timer goes back to 19 instead of 14 minutes and then at the end of cycle after 0:03 minutes it directly becomes 0:00 skipping 0:02 and 0:01 minute. Is this normal?

Those missing minutes are when you lapse into a vegetative state. Glitches in the matrix.

My Bosch dishwasher was going into E15 mode. After emptying water few times I realized that water is spraying from the water inlet valve. I replaced the water inlet valve but now doesn't turn on. Completely dead, no lights no noting. Power is coming to the machine.

Could be using the solid tablets instead of the liquid.

My bosch dishwasher simply wont start today and there is no red light on the floor, even when I hold the door pressed hard shut. Power lights all on. What could it be?

Our 300 series Bosch DW quit working last week with no warning-- unless you consider the burnt wiring smell a warning! I was shocked to find the wiring terminal block completely melted and the wire sheaths melted to the inside of the terminal box. Bosch said it was NOT a recall unit from several years ago and sent me to a pay site to ask questions. Idiots! And my wife wants another Bosch. I said Do you want a BBQ, I"ll light the grill instead!

I think you’ll be able to strip away the burnt wire and redo the connectors with new wire nuts and get them really tight👍

New Subscriber now! I have taken the terminal box off now and unplugged the wiring harness from the back. The plug in looks fine just one black mark on the hot terminal. I'm going to order the replacement box for $30 and try that first. More than enough Romex to strip fresh wire and reconnect. Thank You for the suggestion! (In Kentucky)

Scott, I have a different problem I hoping that you might be able to help with on a Bosch Dishwasher mod# SHX68T55UC/09 , the error code E-19 came on ,I changed out the dispenser with a new Bosch part# 12008380 , worked perfectly for going on around a month and 1/2 , then on Friday July 3rd the dishwasher wouldn't come on and trying to reset it to run it has same E-19 code, Is it normal for a Bosch dispenser to go bad only after a month or two? before changing out the part is there anything you would suggest trying to see if i could reset computer on unit? any help will be well appreciated.

@@ScottTheFixItGuyChannel my wife uses the tablets that Bosch recommends and the rise agent too.Purchased the dish washer new and it's around 4 yrs and then all of a sudden give the error code. It's crazy warranty went out just a couple months ago the E-19 came on i changed the dispenser and it worked perfectly for a little over a month and half, then error code E-19 pops up again,so I have another dispenser on the way to change it out again, according to Bosch the E-19 is the code for bad dispenser.Any way I appreciate you getting back to me like you did.

I actually did this and I didn’t even have to remove the dishwasher to accomplish this. I found a small, rectangular magnet about 1/4” x 1/2”… took my finger and hooked it over the middle of the aluminum dishwasher assembly and felt it drop onto the plastic latch assembly. Slid the magnet over to the left and felt it drop and snap into place beside the latch assembly magnet. Done. Works. Quickest “repair” in my entire life. I see this as a ridiculous design defect on one of the most expensive washers on the market. Inexcusable. But thanks to your detailed video, this was a cinch repair.

Hi Patrick, Behind the kick panel below the door is a silver metal box on your right. After you unplug your Bosch, you can remove the cover and redo the wire nuts bringing power to your Bosch. I think one of the wire nuts melted.

my Bosh closed and the light flashes and it does not start the cycle.
