for the love of God do NOT microwave or put anything plastic in a microwave. I don't care if they say its microwave safe. The plastic will leach into your food exposing you to chemicals. Use glass containers instead. Excellent!

I just installed my brand new Bosch Ascenta and it lit up but would not start. Like FishercatProductions stated below it turned out the door was hitting the screw head that was securing the machine to the counter and it was not letting the magnet make connection. I put in a flat head screw and it worked fine.

Thanks so much! I reset the child lock and then reset the machine and it worked.

Most common problem with Bosch "blinking red light--no start" is magnet under the latch is not activating the reed switch in the door.

I was totally lost after installing my brand new Bosch and finding out it wouldn't start. I checked the magnet switch and realized the door was just bumping the screw securing the machine to the above cabinet. I changed the screw to a flat head screw and when I hit start it started. Thanks so much cause I was definitely POd
