Props to the people who planned these events. The perfect planning of starting the show when theres about 1 hour of sunlight out left. Just that alone is huge, you're at a day show then boom all of a sudden it's a full blown night rave with insane lighting effects. Very impressed with the planning of everything really.

@@Dreas204 A lot of people think that using only your tracks means that you rely too much on your production to make 2 different tracks transition well, because if you think about it, it´s harder having to investigate on completely different tracks from any dj or producer and mixing them together than to use the tracks you made yourself and know since forever.

@@taycordoba unfortunately, your argument is weak for me. Mixing tracks has nothing to do with an assortment and the Key it was composed in. It doesn't matter whether you mix two tracks by two different people or made by the same one. Harmony of the track and the KEY of the track. That makes the difference, also beat matching if you don't want to heavily fck it up.

@@Dreas204 Yeah totally, by no means I wanted to say that if you use your own tracks it´ll be "easy", just that maybe hs82 doesn´t use more than 1-2 of his tracks because I feel that if I was a dj I would not want people to think that I am running out of options and repeating the same tracks in every venue or set. Also I consider that using tracks from various artists gives them credit and recognition, for example I don´t know if i would have discovered guys like Traumer or N´to if ht82 didn´t use their tracks in a set. Just like you said, not hating on any1, just pointing out the difference between 2 great djs and producers

Yes Jimmy, he is a 'living legend". Yesterday i was on a small gig in Essen - Delta Park. Amazingly. These two hours wasn't from this world. Nobody stand still - they smile, dance and we felt this enery of this very old techno spirit from the 90' A flow of psychedelic dreams, passion and frindly faces. Very seldom i. this days. This set and Eric Prydz's 2013 Essential Mix are the two best sets I've ever heard and I've listened to hundreds of sets. Boris' 2022 Cercle set and Eric's 2019 Electric Zoo sets are close behind too.

- also in English below - 😉 Chère équipe du Cercle et du Grand Palais, Cher Boris, tout d'abord un grand merci à vous tous ; ayant regardé ce documentaire de cet événement et concert génial pour la première fois seulement en 2024. A mon avis, c'est un chef d'œuvre qui doit être considéré comme intemporel - je suis convaincu que les gens apprécieront même en le regardant des dizaines d'années plus tard. J'aime beaucoup la combinaison de l'emplacement, le lien avec le 50e anniversaire du premier homme à poser ses pieds sur la Lune, et le pont entre les éléments classiques et avant-gardistes. Pour moi, le Grand Palais a été un excellent choix avec son architecture, combinant des éléments classiques et un plan d'étage avec la construction de la verrière qui était à la pointe de la technologie à l'époque. Très beau quand on passe du coucher de soleil au ciel nocturne, certains reflets de l'éclairage apparaissaient même comme des étoiles. L'ambiance était également parfaite, permettant un spectacle de lumières et de visuels ; j'ai beaucoup apprécié qu'ils ne soient pas trop exagérés. La technologie de construction jette un pont vers la "techno" en tant que genre musical, mais aussi l'équipement utilisé, les synthétiseurs et les boîtes à rythmes étant les principaux instruments vraiment "techniques" ici. Il est fascinant de voir comment les artistes utilisent cette technologie pour créer des œuvres d'art qui touchent profondément les émotions. Puisque nous sommes en 1969, permettez-moi de partager un lien vers cette chanson instrumentale "Popcorn" de Gershon Kingsley, qui est plus ou moins à l'origine de tout genre de musique électronique "moderne". C'était vraiment visionnaire à l'époque, étant donné que le synthétiseur était encore nouveau (pensez au célèbre Moog 55 ` armoire de raccordement téléphonique '). Pour te divertir, voici un joli clip de la version de 1969 (!) de l'émission britannique "Top of the Pops" (j'aime la façon dont le motif passe à un style déjà "technoïde" vers la fin, comparé à la version de 1972 "Hot Butter"): kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYeGpcemlpWweMY.html Ce qui m'amène à un autre aspect : Le Grand Palais a aussi l'aspect d'une place de marché, avec des échanges entre les gens et des influences de nombreuses cultures différentes. Le fait qu'il s'agisse d'un gars de l'Allemagne `technique´ (et de la folie du contrôle) qui allume même le feu latin (à en juger par son succès en Amérique du Sud ; bien qu'il s'agisse de rythmes machinaux à `4 sur le sol´ et pas de salsa) a une certaine ironie. J'apprécie énormément que nos amis français qui organisent cet événement lui aient donné l'opportunité de jouer là-bas, c'est vraiment l'esprit européen et mondial! En fin de compte, garder un tel niveau d'énergie pendant 2 heures à une vitesse de croisière (c'est-à-dire moins que Psy-Trance) avec une musique entièrement créée par lui-même et avec des sons variés, mais pas surchargés, est absolument stupéfiant. L'écouter m'aide à me concentrer tout en faisant d'autres tâches. Ou, ce qui est mieux, à faire une séance d'entraînement de `power dance´. Meilleures salutations d'Allemagne à nos amis en France, à travers toute l'Europe et autour du Globe! Dear Cercle and Grand Palais team, Dear Boris, first of all a late Thank you so much to all of You; having watched this documentary of that awesome event & concert for the first time only in 2024. To my mind, it is a masterpiece which needs to be considered timeless - I’m convinced people will enjoy even when watching it decades later. I really like the combination of location, link to 50th anniversary of 1st man putting his feet on the Moon, and the bridge between classic and avantgarde elements. Grand Palais to me was excellent choice with its architecture, combining classic elements and floorplan with the construction of the glass roof which was state of the art back then. Very nice when turning from sunset to night sky, some reflections of lighting even appeared like stars. The ambience was also perfect fit, allowing for light-show & visuals; highly appreciate those didn’t go over the top, too. Construction technology builds the bridge towards `Techno´ as musical genre, but also the equipment used, with synthesizers and drum machines being major, truly `technical´ instruments here. It’s fascinating how artists make use of such technology to create artworks deeply touching emotions. Since it fits to 1969, allow me to share a link to this instrumental song “Popcorn” from Gershon Kingsley which is more are less the seed of any `modern´ genre of electronic music. It really was visionary back at that time, considering the synthesizer was still new (think of the famous Moog 55 `telephone patch-bay cabinet´). For some entertainment, here’s nice clip with the 1969 (!) version from UK `Top of the Pops´ (I like how the motif changes to already `technoid´ style towards the end compared to the 1972 `hot butter´ version): kzread.info/dash/bejne/gYeGpcemlpWweMY.html Which brings me to another aspect: Grand Palais also has some appearance of market place, with exchange between people and influences from many various cultures. It’s so nice seeing & reading that people across the globe put their partly euphoric comments to the show & performance like this brilliant one from Boris here. It has some tongue in cheek appeal that it’s a guy from technical Germany (and over-boarding control mania) rocks and even lights up Latin fire (judging from his success in South America; though machine-like 4 on the floor beats and no salsa). Highly appreciate our friends in France hosting this event have given him the opportunity to play there, this is truly European & global spirit! Ultimately, keeping such an energy level over 2 hours at cruising speed (i.e. lower than Psy-Trance) with music entirely created by his own and with variety of, yet not overloaded sounds is absolutely stunning. Listening to it helps me focusing while doing other work. Or, which is better, going for a power dance workout. Best regards from Germany to our friends in France, across all Europe & around the Globe!

I hear you. I'm 70 y.o and my hubbie is 66 y.o. We fly into Los Angeles once a year for a BIG rave, from our home in Ft. Worth. We can't go back to listening to old foggie music. Went to an Underworld and Chemical Bros. concert in SFO, back in '97, my first experience in EDM. Blown away how great the experience is. Boris is our current favorite DJ. So listenable. My daughter exposed us to this music 25 years ago...we would never know this was out there.
