When I visited Chateau Latour tasting the 1982 I spotted stainless steel fermentation tanks and asked the assistant winemaker about them he commented the other Chateaux use them but keep them hidden. I noticed that many of the Chais were much cleaner then I remembered. 1982 introduced more modern winemaking and the hygiene was much improved.

How does the 1994 Montrose taste?

Not one of my favorites and I love Montrose but the 1994 lacks roundness and mouth feel and the wine is short in the finish. One of the 94’s that’s never shown well to me. If you want some I have a case of 750’s and 1.5L. If you want to discuss further, feel free.

Thank you for your insight. The reason I asked is I was born in 1994 and I have bought a bottle of 1994 Montrose to open for my 30th in september. I'm looking to buy a few other special bottles as well to celebrate. My small cellar consists of very young left banks and super tuscan that are way too early to enjoy yet. thank you again. @@winemoneysong
