😂 people feel the need to complain no matter what I do. Either they complain that I'm helping too much and it's "unfair to the muskrat". Or they complain that I'm not helping enough, and say I should just shoot it, net it, or use a dog. It's pretty clear that no matter WHAT I do, someone is going to complain about it and tell me how I could do it "better" 😂

Then they should post videos of how to properly hunt muskrats with a mink or shut their pie holes you do you and ignore the static

I wasn't complaining. I understand that part of a hunters job if using animals to hunt with, is to help direct that hunting animal to the prey. In a wild one on one scenario that muskrat might have gotten away to live another day, and that was mostly what I was trying to imply. If I insulted you, I apologize, no insult was meant, and I feel bad if it was taken that way. The amount of time, effort, love, and training you put into your hunting animals is remarkable, and the results are easy to see with every video you make. You and Boon are a great team, and I understand that training a little furry ball of death to override its natural instincts is no small feat, but you make it look easy. I enjoy your videos because of the teamwork between you and your animals. You're the only one I know of that uses mink to hunt with, which makes you unique in the hunting world. As far as doing it better, I don't know that you could, it's hard to do something better when your the best at what you do already. I think people that complain about you helping Boon, are missing the whole point of hunting. You're the hunter and Boon is an extention of you. Boon is the weapon instead of a gun but the end result is still the same. I suppose if you really wanted to prove how exceptional you are at hunting with animals, you could always try training a boat load of frogs to hunt rats. The look of confusion and terror on the rats and mice faces while they are being curb stomped by a hoarde of Pac Man frogs would be a sight worth seeing, and honestly, I don't doubt that you could pull it off. The fact that you were able to train Raptor to override her natural instincts was remarkable and proves, at least to me, that you could train any animal to hunt with. Again, I apologize if my previous post insulted you, it was certainly never meant that way. You are one of my favorite KZreadrs and I always look forward to your videos, and it makes me feel bad that I posted something that upset you. You are a remarkable man, a great family man, an exceptional animal trainer, and a fantastic hunter. Keep up the great work.

What you do works perfectly fine a lot of people nowadays are too uptight
Curious to see Boon going against the old one. Most wild animals don't reach old age and that one seemed to be in top shape so I imagine the survival instincts/strength on it must be quite formidable even for a mink to take on.

That will be the next video actually
Great video. What is so special about boon is how he takes direction from you. When you call him he comes right away. When you throw rocks to point out where the muskrat is he goes directly to that area. I remembered you said you wanted a mink that could do exactly this. You've got him. Great job.
Another brilliant hunt from Boon , he's your best so far, but that's not just him , he's the product of your years of experience and together you make the Best team, great video as always , keep up the Excellent work everyone.
I'm at work right now, no client flow. Me and my coworker enjoy this hunt, thanks for the up load
Almost like watching shark week how boon can catch in water like that.

I knew Boon would have trouble in the deep water in that tunnel, but he sure came close. He's a fantastic little hunter, and your family is a lovely team. :-)

I always imagine Maggie following, tracking the 'scrats w the camera. Joe's a lucky guy.
Joseph have you thought about putting a tiny camera on boon to show what he sees and what it looks like from his viewpoint???? That would be such killer content.
@BigStrap

It would be sick- but a camera might also get caught on things, especially underground or underwater.
I love ‘em too… ferrets, weasels, etc. Love that family! Thanks for your part in helping these little scamps! ♥️🥰☮️😘‼️🕉
It is you that has let us see a mink catch a muskrat and I mow addicted 😁😁 thank you.
I appreciate everything you upload. Watching Boon hunt never gets boring.
1st view after NYT article. Love this type of ecosystem pest control. So great! Congrats from an EPA retiree who wants clean pest management!
Boon had the benefit of growing up with MinkLand. And that early and consistent exposure to swimming likely played a role in his development and his affinity for swimming. It seems to work out for the best, that Boon likes to hunt them in the open water, rather than chase them down holes, since he had some trouble cashing, early on. You don't have to worry about him staying down a hole and maybe having to dig him out, if he catches them out in the open. Boon seems to have found what works best for both him and you.

@@bettyvanderhooven-schmaasc4235 These hunting mink took much skill ,effort and breeding. It was shown how it's harder for the mink to take out a muskrat in deep water, how some mink are more aggressive than others and how some learn from other mink. Even the weight of the mink figured in to how aggressive their hunt was/is. It was fascinating to follow how semi-aquatic was turned into aquatic hunting.

@@bettyvanderhooven-schmaasc4235 Joseph often speaks about how confidence plays a factor in performance. Being familiar with (and even enjoying) the water and feeling confident in swimming ability (thanks to plenty of swimming in the yard) could lead to more aggressive behaviour in that water. As apposed to previous mink who only had the aquarium to practice in. The same can be seen in people who grew up swimming in lakes or the ocean versus people who haven't. There is more confidence to be had with the familiar. I think this shows in Boon's attitude.
You are mistaken. We love to see the mink hunting. It’s never the same chase or fight!
so interesting to see them dive. before i had issues comprehending how fast they move once they disappear into the mud.
1.28 Million followers!!?? You got one more! i really enjoyed this video.
Yes we do appreciate it, especially over here in England were people don't work mink
Boon was probably pissed at that last one 😁 What a beast. Good work 👍🏼
Joseph you do great brother..obviously they don't know the time and effort you put into training and teaching the minks and other animals you use to do your work..many of us who appreciate your work and know how hard it is to train boon and the rest ..much appreciated and thanks for your uploads..you do so well with the mink.train and retrieve great work and well done
Excellent work your Minks do 👍
I seen boon finally get close enough along side for a good neck bite and boom! There it was..one day he's gonna climb right up and want you to throw him instead of a rock, it'll be a Boon Grenade hahaha 😆
That was one big muskrat! And tough! Good job Boon!
This is incredible. GPS tracker and all the gear. This is humane and natural hunting at its best. Bravo!
7:27 LOL! I thought the muskrat just flew to the sky X))
Boon is a monster!! He does not stop until it's 100% done for. Awesome instinct.
Yes he is! Oh, he'll no, I appreciate everything he does, every time.
I appreciated it! I've never seen anything like that-how cool!
I'm still partial to Fang. I have seen all of the mink you have had throughout the years and Fang wasn't the biggest or fastest but she was the most skilled and trained out of all the mink.

I love these little predators thanks to you buddy :)
I would appreciate Boon if I watched a video of him doing that a 100 times. He is amazing and you've done such a good job training him.
It’s been a while since I’ve watched one of your Vids. This was great!
Another great video. Thank you and your family for sharing with us.
IDC where boon slays them It's all exciting for me and I cant wait til the next episode. Thanks for all you do.
Ur right a lot of ppl don’t see how rare it is to catch on in the water but u 2 are such a good team but I appreciate seeing him hunt anything bc even tho I’ve watched u for years it’s something I never anywhere else will see
what a great job you guys do. Its impressive the skillful this animals have and love and such Joseph dedication in training these spectacular minks
Years ago (1980's) in Montana there was a lake known for good fishing called Rat Lake (named for so many Muskrats). I was told not to take my dog because the muskrats would drown her. After a day of fishing my Siberian Husky had a pile of muskrats
The best camera-person.
I still appreciate it i love watching the minks hunt I never get tired of it
"you guys probably are getting tired of Boon huntin in the water" ????? Joe, that's what we are subscribed for! No 2 hunts are the same, no 2 rats are the same... Whether it be on land or in the water, we want to see the mink hunt! (with or without dog support) Love your channel, keep up doing what you do, and don't change the video format!!!
Blessings to your family ✌🏻🙏🏻
Awesome work, training everyone and everything
Great video joe i just love what u do .
Damn the determination of boon is awesome, I can definitely see why you chose to work with these cool animals.
I love watching your videos its beautiful to see you work with the minks in partnership its a much more natural way of pest control
nice job guys, neat to see he was able to pick up either the scent or the movement as he went after that last one.
Glad to see you still at it Joseph!
Another excellent video thank
I'll never get used to or be bored watching Boon get the 'scrats! Go Boon!

Awesome video as always! 💪🏿💪🏿
Poor duck was sure it was on the menu! Lol
I never get tired of seeing any of your mink or your dogs catching rats or muskrats for that matter it's good to see that they're doing good and you and your family so I guess the last thing I'll say is keep at it
Very kool. Thank you
Boon is so fun to watch! Very impressive.
Your a modern-day Steve Irwin with minks nice job 👏
Dude I had no idea you could train a mink like that. It listens like a dog and it is absolutely trained on those muskrats
Wow that was hardcore but the wee guy never gave up! Brilliant 👍
The best videos are where you discuss the mink and dogs in a way that makes their personalities the focus. Gives us an emotional investment in them.
Watching boon hunt very interesting. ❤️❤️❤️
That was an intense pursuiit and battle!! awesome job Boon!!!
Nice job joe lovely work
Great vid Joseph !
I love Boon!!!
Good job.
We appreciate it Joe :)
I was kind of cheering for the muskrat. The fact that he was an old one showed he had some serious escape skills to live as long as he had. If you hadn't been helping, I think the muskrat would have gotten away. Boon is still great though, lots of stamina and prey drive.

I don’t think he would want to let it go after investing so much time and resources into the hunt, especially since quite a few do genuinely manage to elude both him and his mink. Part of the way he makes his living is from selling the meat and pelts from his kills, but I imagine he respects the animal’s abilities even more when he sees the full fight it puts up. If he were to let it go, he wouldn’t be able to see what else it’s capable of.
boon played the Looooooong Game 😆😆😆😆😆👁👁great vid as always
That was sxciting Joseph thanks for the video
They good swimmers. Comes when you call name.
Way to go Boon! He is one adorable determined killing machine. That muskrat gave all of you some exercise, chasing it up and down the canal. I don't think I've ever seen a canal that green with algae in your videos before. I caused a stir in my social circle by catching three mice in the basement with the combination of a big wooden dowel for smacking/pinning and my bare hands for grabbing. Couldn't bring myself to finish them off, so they'll probably come right back in again, with the exception of the one I threw far enough for it to land in the river. The spring current will put it in someone else's neighborhood down stream if it didn't drown. I don't think I'm ready to go on a ratting expedition with you guys yet but I'll keep practicing on the mice lol.
Fun little video
I grew up on a large lake and when a teen we would get $100 a pop for beavers. A lot of money in the 80s. $$ people's docks were being sunk when the beavers chewed away the flotation and wood for dams/ places to live.
Hunting videos with Boon are exciting as always, but do you plan to do an update on Minkland? A fishing training video in the Aquascape pond for example, or showing the mink that you own atm in their cages, maybe some insights on the ones that you plan to breed. Just throwing some thoughts out there
Rip boon. Brought happiness to the world
