Bon Odori Malaysia 2022 [50,000 People!?] | Japan Festival

Bon Odori, Japan festival in Malaysia 2022
Hello! So today is my first time attending a Japanese festival in Malaysia! (Bon Odori). To my surprised, it was a lot better than Japan's and much much bigger as well!
I heard there was around 50,000 people that showed up for this year's Bon Odori festival! The crowed was insane, it felt like I was attending a live concert.
Malaysians were dress in beautiful Yukata/Kimono and so many took part in dancing as well. Overall, it was so enjoyable and fun to watch!
Hope You Enjoyed The Video ♡

In 2019, it was only around 30000 people that came to Bon Odori. But since the festival went viral this year due to controversy following a minister’s advice for Muslims to avoid coming. The number of visitors flocking to the stadium were increasing instead of decreasing 😂. Lmao 50000!! I also went there and it was so damn hot 🥵. Found nothing that can relate to religion affairs tho

I was there too, but you can really see the huge ratio gap between the Muslim attendees and the Non-Muslims as well if yesteryear Bon Odoris were to be used as indicators. So in a way, many Muslims decided to heed to not only the Minister but also to other states; Muftis like Penang, Fed Territories, Pahang and Perlis. I was very surprised to see a lot of local first timers in this year Bon Odori particularly from the Non-Muslim community. Glad the Minister and Muftis did their job to remind the Muslims and did not issue a ban for the Non-Muslims from attending the Bon Odori.
