He and his wife met in high school and obviously have a relationship that withstood “rock star dalliances” when the band exploded in his early 20’s. Both he and his wife are good people who have given back to their community and have given their time and money to several charities. I don’t think he should be faulted for stupid stuff he did back then. And let’s face it, who hasn’t done things they regret when they were young? Considering all the temptations he undoubtedly had as a gorgeous, young touring rock star, the fact that he and his wife are still going strong is a testimony to their enduring relationship. We all should be so lucky.

There is just so much wrong here: "happily" married for the majority of his career, not being faithful to his wife because it is just part of the job, "never" fell for the trappings of what celebrity can do, the secret to a successful marriage is "honesty", and having mutual respect, writing a song about your affair from the point of view of a musician cheating on his partner with his mistress. Poor woman.

In some peoples eye me not forgiving was worse than her cheating. Sorry but it was great to see one of my harshest critics having to walk in my shoes. Taste bad, don’t it.

I was invited to a concert bc I was staying at the same Hotel and he dedicated Bed of Roses to his daughter Steph, which I didn't know he had. But he saw me and my friend I flew over and the promoter and help pulled us aside as Jon saw us from the stage and told us about a after party. We didn't go, but we went to a commotion at a conference room in the hotel and it was about 500 ppl waiting for the band, radio winners, etc. A journo lady doing a piece on the band kept trying to ask me questions, which I ignored but after half hr I wanted to leave but my friend said no let's wait, at least have a drink. It was Australia so at 18 we could. While she went to get it, the band came down a set of stairs, and scanned the room. Jon made eye contact with me and walked right over. Asked my name, if I was enjoying the night and asked if I wanted to go to a more quiet party bc ppl were trying to interrupt and calling him..Jon sign this, Jon that..I said sure but my friend went to get a drink, can she come too.. he said that's OK and tool my hand and led me with my friend following up the stairs. Everyone was deflated bc he stayed not 10-15 min and saw him lead me out. I was 18 and he was 40 so I don't regret a thing. The journo wrote about us in the magazine piece too but we were warned not to talk to her the rest of the week, and anyway I wouldn't have. But it's great memories for me. I wish I'd given him my silver pendant he kept admiring all night, I just didn't think. He's gorgeous back at 40 so it's one of my fav moments.❤

LOLOLOLOL.....Dude was one of the Biggest Rock Stars in the world and had the most beautiful women in the world crawling all over him.. No way this is a surprise to her or anyone else...

Ok so, I’m a huge Bon Jovi fan and he never exactly explained when he cheated. But I don’t think he cheated during marriage. This is my speculation. I think he cheated while they were dating since he was so into his fame at the time and so young and didn’t know better. He would probably cheat at the strip clubs he would go to with the band. He then confessed everything to her and they worked it out (while they were dating). In the documentary, it said that Jon matured I think after the Slippery When Wet album and stopped drinking and stuff so he probably stopped cheating and felt bad. I don’t think he ever cheated again after that, and I highly doubt he cheats during his marriage since he has kids and obviously loves his wife. I’m pretty sure about him talking about how he wasn’t a saint, meant in their early relationship before marriage. This is my guess and I’m pretty sure it’s true. But even if I’m wrong at the end of the day Jon and Dorothea are a happy couple and always talk things out and forgive each other.

As far as I'm concerned, if his wife can forgive him, who the hell am I or anyone else to judge. Either way, I'll get up tomorrow and my life will not be affected one bit. Some people get so emotional about celebrity behavior, who cares?

Exactly! It’s not enough that he cheated, it’s that he actually brags about it in every single interview he does, when they ask him about his marriage. He seems almost offended and rolls his eyes, if the journalist makes a comment that presumes he’s been faithful. He’s made so many comments about how he would never trade her in for a trophy wife. Why would he need to leave her when he can cheat on her anytime he wants to? He’s had the best of both worlds. He’s been able to have a wife at home, to raise his children and give him emotional support and a good reputation, and he’s been able to travel all over the world pursuing HIS dreams, and sleeping with beautiful women. It’s nice that they are still together, and I do think he loves her (now that he’s getting old, and his voice is gone, he probably leans on her support more than ever) but he doesn’t deserve a trophy for having his cake and eating it too. I’m his most recent interview, he was asked what he loves so much about her, and he said that he loves how much she loves HIM.

The problem is that celebrities talk about their marriage and some make it sound like they’re having an idyllic life. You can always say to the press “no personal questions” but wanting popularity overshadows that so you go on chat shows etc. and make other people envy your life. Its abit rich then to say that their marriage is personal. Its showbiz. I adore artist for their talent. The public though adores them for their private life too because celebs share this. Its an echo chamber of one feeding the other. Artists should just make art leave the regaling of your wonderful marriage at home.

My friend and I joke in chats that he comes home and calls the dog and it looks at him funny and runs over and bites him. When Dorothea comes into the room he's like 'Honey, what happened? I called the dog and it bit me. Dorothea laughs and says, "Uh, hon, you've been gone for almost 2 years. That one died a year ago and this is a different dog. It doesn't know you."

On the one hand Jon was young and reckless with all the trappings at his fingertips. On the other hand, none of that excuses being unfaithful. At the end of the day, it's none of our business and if his wife forgave him then that's her call.

I use to have so much respect for him as a husband and family man, but now not so much?
