I've been a Bon Jovi fan since 1984 or 1985. I didn't know he married his high school sweetheart. With his looks and being the frontman of an incredible rock band, he had his pick of so many women. The fact that he married Dorothea and remains with her is a very rare thing. God Bless them and all they do for the poor. That is so much more than being who he is on stage.

He and Dorothea broke up after a 4 years relationship bcuz he was on tour and also i think the long distance thing and she didn't wait for him too too think highly if it will ever will come better again so she moved on. Which i think he did had affairs in the period he was single but he realized he missed his ex so much and loved her so after the long tour he came back and went to her home and they talked and he said he deciced to marry her and she agreed

Exactly! I have SO much respect for them and I love how they don't just send a check in, and go about their lives...they actually donate their time by physically stacking/ lifting heavy boxes, unpacking, moving, shipping,etc...and donate their hearts by following up, making calls to make it happen and staying on top of everything to make sure it gets done. Amazing couple! And a great team together. ❤️🙂🙏

Me too, I'm 49, i was listeing to them since i was 10 Still got my Bon Jovi Album , Still Love SHOT THROUGH THE HEART and SHE DON'T KNOW ME back in the 90s i once saw Jon on an interview and he said something pretty close the following. First he went on about a topic of , When someone achieves a certain amount of financial success, then when they have bought everything they need and are taken care of then they have taken care of their freinds and family , What do you do after that , What do you do after there is no use for money anymore he said..... You help humanity and your fellow man he then said this... "If ever there is someone in need , Who is Genuinely in need" (he then cautiously pauses to make sure he chooses his words correctly and continues to say ) "If i can use my money, my popularity , my influence or celebrity to help............. I will" that always stayed with me

I remember when I was in high school Jon announced his marriage to Dorthea. So many girls in school we're pissed. Calling her ugly. I just told them they were jealous because she had him and they didn't. It cracked me up these girls actually thought they had a chance with him. They are a true success story and it's good to see he uses his celebrity to do good things with her by his side.

So sad that only little has changed since then. :-( I am roughly the same age as Jon's and Dorothea's daughter and it was the same in my school days and it is still the same today. All just jealousy and body shaming and this is considered to be normal among girls. And people ask why we still need feminism.

So do I! What a great example these two set. I can’t think of any other famous person doing what they do. They make the Kartrashians look like trash.

When you think they COULDve been lounging around in their palm beach compound or wherever they live, whatever the fabulously wealthy do... playing pool, swimming and so on... I am sure it is a fantabulous lifestyle... Instead they were setting up food bank for the east end of long island's people in need... schlepping boxes and washing dishes! It's absolutely amazing and no wonder they are together after so many years. They know what is important. They are the role models for america... not the wealthy (blankety blank) we have in the WH right now.

I lived in New York for a few years and I saw a lot of homeless people on the street, so I took it upon myself to make sandwiches at home and hand them out,. A little bit of kindness goes a long way. I do respect him that he married his Highschool sweetheart and now you know why you choose someone in life who works with you and supports you. Instead of going for the easier road they work hard for each other. Dorothea is a beautiful woman inside and out, I didn’t meet my Darlene until over 4 years ago at the age of 50 but she is the one that I choose to be with the rest of my life and I’m happy and grateful that I did.

Bon Jovi is the soundtrack for me growing up in Jersey in the 80's. Staying happily married for any amount of years is always a challenge. To see Jon and Dorothea still happily married and best friends that work together to give back to their community and to help people in need is really what life's all about, especially these days. Dorothea, would you consider writing a book about your perspective on being married to Jon and your experiences as a wife and mother from the beginning of his career? I would buy that book in a second. You are truly amazing people.

You could always tell Jon had a big heart. He obviously didn’t go for a good looking wife at all. They truly care for each other and for others. Nice couple.

As a true Jersey girl I love Jon Bon Jovi and have been a fan of his music since the very beginning. But what I love most about him is that he hasn’t allowed the fame and money to change him. Love that him and his wife have kept their marriage strong.

Jon has been helping the less fortunate since before he was a superstar. He gave out concert tickets to a child with physical disabilities because he bumped into him on a flight to Denver. He's always thinking of others. He doesn't take his successful lifestyle for granted...he's always sharing with others everywhere he goes. This is a man whose "a gift" from God to the world. 🙏

What is even more impressive than Jon Bon Jovi's music is how he ( and Dorothea ) have given back and are really trying to improve the world. Although Cuomo is corrupt/criminal, Jon knows what is needed to get things done. His idea of people learning and working in order to eat is just brilliant. It teaches those in need a skill and they acquire real experience. It's not just a hand out. Very few celebrities actually get this involved with their philanthropy. They both deserve metals. IMO

I've been to the first JBJ Soul Kitchen in Red Bank, NJ twice and loved the food and and pay it forward idea. Love the idea and met some wonderful people that they've really helped feed and give a chance to learn another skill and that their are definitely people out there that care and very willing to "pay it forward". What a committed and wonderful couple they are!!💜💜

Yep, the pay forward idea is very cool. It encourages everyone to contribute in some way. That is how everything should be, actually. Those who have more share a little extra to help out someone with less.

I've been a Bon Jovi fan for decades! But when I see positive uplifting stories like this, it just makes me admire him and his family as kind human beings, not celebrities. He and his wife are "walking the walk", using their super powers for good! It's inspiring that they aren't topping, they just keep doing more and they are affecting real change in their own "backyard". Sure, it's great when celebrities give to causes in other countries, but there are SO MANY communities in need right here in this country. It's so sad to think of children going to school hungry or our seniors that live below the poverty line and add in the pandemic and it impacts things even more these days. We're the United States of America, one of the most prosperous nations in the world, we should always strive to do better, be better. Like Jon said, it doesn't matter who you are, where you come from, what side of the aisle you're on, everyone should have access to the basic needs to function in day to day life: food, water, shelter, clothing. A little human kindness goes a long way. I wish there was a way to do what he and his wife have done in their community, in more communities across the country.

My first concert...16 years old. I've loved him forever...and admire him even more that he's still with his high school sweetheart. 🥰

I just finished watching Bon Jovi's documentary and had no idea Jon was such a dedicated, hardworking & focused man he was about his music & family. He didn't falter into the trappings of the industry he chose, which most musicians get lured into the bad habits & addictions -- the main culprit to their demise. I found a full found respect for Jon Bon Jovi after watching his documentary.

More rich celebrities should do the same.

There is.a lot of celeb work and a lot of wealthy people work going on out there! It is time for everyone to pitch in and contribute. Love their model - pay for a meal or contribute your time for a meal. Hopefully this catches on and entitlement ends.

Agreed. In France it is the law now. Supermarkets HAVE to give surplus food to food banks.

When I see celebrities after a certain point in their lives and with money, this is what I would hope they would do. Jon & Dorothea are making a difference and that is all you can ask for from a human being, is to at least try to be and do better. Thank God for people like them! 🙏🏽😇😇

I "take my hat off" in front of them. Jon Bon Jovi and wife made good use of his money, earned as a musician over the years. Excellent energy, helping others in need, I admire this couple and wish them good luck and let's hope other celebrities will follow their example or pair up with them.

I happen to like the Kardashians ( jus like all you narcs happen to like and act like molly . Maybe I am off base but jus feel like something up and trust went out the window when I was scolded the other day .I wouldn't mind being told things if o had fam they didnt ignore but well you will never understand the hurt .but jus enjoy social media where changing names is the loving thing to do .gn .

At least Kim and Kris Kardashian I know are very giving and kind hearted women. JBJ and his wife are amazing though yes. This is about them. Not the Kardashian's.

Actually the Kardashian provide jobs for thousands and donate millions, quietly, as well as many volunteer hours every year so that's a pretty ignorant comment. Whne someone talks like that, it shows they just act nasty grasping at any social media or tabloid crap rather than being of substance and only speaking from educated knowledge, especially when of others. Do you do the same to those in your life and community, just bashing because you don't like them, passing on any untruths you hear? Be a better human. How much do you donate and volunteer? If not as much as those you bash, do better or sit down.

This is why he has been loved in all over the world as a Super star for such a long time!! I love him😍😍😍😍

I love the way they want to help people. They are a beautiful couple and I’ll always be a bonjovi fan.

I have always had so much respect for this man's talents, his lyrics are beautiful and moving and his voice is outstanding. Now I just have more reasons to admire both him and his wife for being true heroes.

Jon Bon Jovi was (and still is) one of the most gorgeous hard rock stars ever and he could have had all the girls in the world, but he chose HER and the fact that they are still together after all these years having such a strong bound is admirable ❤

I have been a Bon Jovi fan since I was 13 and Livin' On a Prayer was on the radio. Whenever I hear Who Says You Can't Go Home I start welling up bc I think of JBJ's philanthropic efforts against homelessness.

What a great model of human kindness and caring .

For real. Americans need to hold Congress and our local/State/Federal governments accountable. It does say in the US Constitution that one of the purposes of Congress is to "provide for the general welfare." One way we can hold them all accountable is for American citizens to do official performance reviews every year about whether our elected representatives are keeping their promises and helping to provide for the general welfare (for American citizens - not corporations). We all get yearly performance reviews at our jobs, and they should too. If they are not doing the job we elected them to do, they shouldn't be able to continue their term. We have been too accommodating for some of these people and if they knew they had only 1 year to get things accomplished, they would be more likely to get things done. If they do a good job, they can continue on to next year. It is disappointing that We the People may need to take this approach with our elected representatives, but blind trust that they will do what they promise pre-election hasn't worked out so well.

Where can we find more them????? Where?!?! They are so generous and kind and just want to help others and they don't want a ton of accolades for it. Thank you, Jon and Dorothea!!! Much love to you and your family, friends and fans!

I had the honor of hanging out with Bon Jovi when he was younger and she wasn't there but he talked about her and this was early in his career and I can say I truly believe he is a good hearted man and she is very good for him. I love working in my community as well and I wish them such good luck.
