I live in the woods and see bobcats all the time. I usually see them when they are roaming around checking out their territory. My nearest human neighbours are about 10 miles away. My nearest neighbours are black bears, coyotes, foxes, deer and other wildlife. Best neighbours ever. To them I am just another animal living in their territory.

@@zekemedia1310 Hey Zeke! That's awesome. I'm lucky enough to see many of the same animals here in North Texas. We even have a small population of black bears, but I've never seen one here.

So this got me thinking, why do all bears have short stubby tails that are barely there? Why not have either a longer tail or no tail at all?

Good question. They are big animals, and although they can move quickly, they do not need a long tail because their weight helps them balance. Like bobcats, much of their prey does not traverse rocky outcrops or cliffs so much. So they don't need the extra balance to tip toe around large boulders, haha 🩰🐻

Maybe in a few hundred years they'll actually have no tail, as humans are being born without wisdom teeth
