That’s the thing with Bobby. I actually don’t like his whole “I’m a mess” shtick anymore. I can’t watch Bad Friends or TigerBelly cos it just grates on me - he doesn’t need to lean into his drug stories or whatever to be funny. All that’s the least interesting parts of him imo. He is really clever and witty, it must just be difficult to be that way when you’re surrounded by people intent on reminding you how much of a fuck up you’re supposed to be :/

For those of us who have seen every TigerBelly and Bad Friends episode, it is refreshing any time someone can steer Bobby away from talking about dicks, shitting and serial killers for an entire show. Bobby surely has so many stories to tell, but unfortunately just like his comedy he just keeps going back to the same notes over and over and over again.

Great interview. I think this is the first time I've seen authentic Bobby Lee. He's thoughtful and intelligent, which can get overshadowed by his manic character he plays. Also he says he's bad looking but he isn't. It's just style. Proper haircut and shave, decent fitting clothes, and he's good to go.

Bobby is the best. I was the sound guy at the Houston Improv. Bobby was the only comic to ever come thank me after. there is a part where he dances and you have to time the music just right. I tried to get it perfectly timed think I did well. Bobby coming and saying so meant soo much. He then did a podcast with the local comics just for fun. Hes a genuinely good dude.

Its as Bobby said. He's stupid loyal. Sometimes jumping ship to other agencies helps you leverage deals. Similarly tech people jump from MSFT to Google to Apple every 4 years to leverage new deals. Sometimes you get a "king maker" if you stick with one but that's another route that comes down to timing and luck.
