Bob Dylan - You're Gonna Make Me Lonesome When You Go (Live 1976) [WITH RARE STAGE FOOTAGE]

Музыка

Who's excited for the Rolling Thunder Revue film being released on Netflix on June 12?! I thought I'd upload this in anticipation for the film. I will be posting more footage from the tour in the weeks to come. The audio was recorded in Fort Worth, TX. on May 16, 1976.
I ripped this losslessly from a rare DVD of "Renaldo and Clara," which made a short run in theaters until it was discontinued because of negative reviews. The film as a whole is quite boring if you aren't a Dylan nut, and even if you are, much of the "storyline" is very abstract and hard to follow. It has its moments though. There's footage of Dylan driving a mobile home down a highway, hiking through the snow on a farm, extensive backstage footage with Joan Baez and his then-wife Sara, him visiting Kerouac's grave with Allen Ginsberg, playing at the Cafe Wha with Jack Elliot and Phil Ochs, and much more. Stay tuned!

This is just incredible, magnificent, pick the superlative. I was at the Tarrant County Convention Center in Fort Worth, where the audio is from on this video. F’n amazing show with an unannounced, surprise visit by Joni Mitchell who was passing through and “heard the circus was in town.” To this day one of the top five shows I’ve been to. The ‘74 Dylan/Band show from the same venue makes the cut as well. The OKC Rolling Thunder Revue a couple of days later was excellent. Thanks isn’t enough, but thanks!

@Mike Thompson, U can't imagine how many fans wish we could have been there with you !! I always read that tickets weren't selling well, especially in small venues. What were people thinking?! They WEREN'T thinking. If a household name like Dylan did a tour like this, tickets would sell out. But then, there aren't legendary, culture-changing, iconic artists like Bob around these days. Sorry for rambling, I have a few free hours to spend on Bob. 😎 Btw, if U want to share anything about the concert, I'm sure I wouldn't be the only one reading & enjoying it !!

Her article on her time touring with Bob & the time they spent together is lovely. Don't know if it's still online. Mavis could have posted pics, but she respects her old friends need for privacy. She wrote of some sweet moments with Bob, he said 'You should have married me when I asked you). I will share when I find it. I will stop rambling now...😎 can't help myself at times.

thanks for this one, SP ! Re: your comments about Reynaldo and Clara, i love Renaldo and Clara, i never saw it when it was out and about 5 years ago, i craved it and i found it on eBay, some bootleg discs somebody recorded, inexpensive. either it wasn't available commercially or it was priced beyond my reach, several hundred dollars or more. what i got was more than one DVD, 4 i think, and it was about 4 hours long at least, i loved the pace of it. it was like being with those people, hanging out, watching them interact and create the experience. i didn't know what to expect so it just unfolded, and i listened to it at night, i looked forward to it at night and when it was over at the end, it left me feeling wistful, i wished it would go on and on, i could do that every night, lol. based on the bad reviews i guess it's not for everybody. but dylan and his art has never been for everybody.

That’s pretty informative (not). On the basis of my conversation with her am realising a book next year called What Rock Stars Like To Eat. You heard it here first folks. I would pay a day of my life - besser one hour- to know what Scarlett Rivera says to Bob when she is reading his hand . I can imagine that nothing good in sight that ''the gypsy'' Scarlett never played with Dylan again . By the way , what is Allen Ginsberg doing ? Is he putting incense sticks in the mirror ? Hmmm , I suspect someone is smoking a lot of grass .

Nicolas Garcia Gonzalez Hahaha. As Bob said in the interview with Les Crane, “Allen’s a little funny sometimes...”

@Nicholas Garcia Gonzalez, Have U seen the vid of Bob, Scarlet & Rob Stoner performing at a Tribute to John Hammond ? They did Hurricane, Oh Sister & Simple Twist of Fate. Scarlet played in a Dylan tribute band with Winston Watson, a drummer of Bob's from the 90s called Highway 61. Not sure if the band still performs. Winston said he loves it 'cause they can play Bob's songs "the way we first heard & loved them etc". Winston made an entertaining doc highlighting his time with Bob called "Never Ending Tour Documentary" with Bob Dylan." Swingin' Pig, I apologise for promoting other material on your channel. I'm sure U would enjoy it if U haven't seen it (U are such a fan, U probably know of everything Dylan) ♡♡♡ Winston Watson seems like a really cool, good dude ♡
