I think winning the Nobel Prize for Literature is all you need to say, except that he kicked the door in for the rebellious songs of the 60's and his poetry is taught in many universities.

So much to say about this living legend, but I'll keep it short! Dylan is known as one of the greatest songwriters/poets of all time -- a gifted wordsmith and storyteller, with a political conscience. He started out as an American folk singer of the 60s, then turned more to the rock side, inspiring such bands as the Beatles and bringing folk-rock more into the mainstream. A few of his early well-known songs are: "Blowin' In The Wind", "The Times They Are A-changin'", "Like A Rolling Stone", "Hey Mr. Tambourine Man", and so many more. Thanks for another great reaction, guys! ✌💙✌

There's Bob Dylan, then there's all the rest. He's unique, a one off, irreplaceable, the likes of whom we will never see again. His canon of work is unsurmountable, no one equals his output, content, genre of work, live performances, once you're hooked, there's no going back...

Dylan is my favorite artist. You see the comments from others extolling his virtues and achievements and it’s all true. His songs, The Times They Are A-changing, It’s Alright Ma, Like A Rolling Stone, Subterranean Homesick Blues, Tangled Up In Blue and Masters of War are worthy. Really, you can’t go wrong with any Dylan song. Deep rabbit hole. Most importantly, listen to the lyrics.

Bob Dylan was raised within less than an hour from me in Minnesota. I attended one of his open air concerts in the harbor city of Duluth right on the shore of big Lake Superior. What a concert underneath the stars on a warm summer's night! Bob's awards are many, he was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize for Literature; several Grammy awards and so much more! *One of Dylan's finest work is his recording of "Hurricane", a true biographical account of a black professional boxer named Reuben Carter, who was falsely accused and tried for murder.

He is our singer songwriter poet laureate who’s been also covered hundreds of times. Another great live video is “ Hurricane” which is about the prize fighter, Ruben “ Hurricane” Carter , who was falsely imprisoned for murder. Bob’s song helped to get him out of jail. He sang at MLK’s March on Washington at age 21- by invitation. ❤❤❤❤ And don’t forget Jimi Hendrix’s biggest record - “ All Along the Watchtower” - written by Bob!

Bob Dylan wrote the music for the soundtrack of the western film Pat Garrett & Billy The Kid, directed by the great film director Sam Pekinpah (who also directed the fantastic western The Wild Bunch). Knocking on Heaven's Door is a song from that soundtrack where one of the men (Slim Pickens) hunting Billy is shot in the stomach, and while not already dead, knows that there is no hope of him surviving the wound.

Another very popular song is "Subterranean Homesick Blues". It's known for interesting wordplay (you have to see the Official video with Bob holding signs) & it also references the Civil Rights Movement. Bob was very much a social activist. Check out The Times They are a Changing, only a Pawn in Their Game, All Along the Watch Tower, Just Like a Woman, Every Grain of Sand, Mr. Tambourine Man, Blowing in the Wind, Hurricane, Desolation Row, Like a Rolling Stone, It’s Alright Ma I’m Only Bleeding and The Lonesome Death of Hattie Carroll to get a glimpse of why he’s widely considered the greatest songwriter/poet of the past 60 years. My great grandfather knew Billy the Kid and Pat Garrett, After being aTexas Ranger in the 1870s he retired to New Mexico. When he was 8 yrs old, a rogue group of confederates killed his grandfather, father and teenage brother in Texas because they refused to join the confederate cause. And even after witnessing this horror, he remained a good man for the rest of his long life so I always think of him when I hear this song about a lawman of the west saying goodbye
