BOAT RAGE IN THE CANAL! The Point Pleasant Canal Madness Begins | Memorial Day Weekend

Ойын-сауық

BOAT RAGE IN THE CANAL! Memorial Day Weekend in the Point Pleasant Canal - Jersey Rapids madness
If you are familiar with this area and boating, you probably know how nasty the canal can get on the weekends. Between the ripping tide and heavy boat traffic, there will be madness.
This boat probably needed a litttttle more speed!
I hope you enjoy the video! Please like, comment, and subscribe for more.

    Great video! Thank you for emphasizing what a great place this is not! It seems that every boater here needs to take a class in what "NO-WAKE" really means. It just goes to show once again that just because you can afford to buy it doesn't mean that you're smart enough to operate it!

    @Shore Boats you know this area. Is this a no wake zone like the Miami River. Cause I find this insanely dangerous allowing boat to create these manufactured wakes caused by speed. Common sense is if every boat did idle these dangers wouldn't be present. The moment 1 asshole hauls ass now every other person going through it has to do the same to avoid being sank

    Good Morning Fellow Boating Enthusiasts, Friends, And Supporters Of The World Famous Shore Boating Channel: Thank you gentlemen for answering my request for some Point Pleasant Cannal Action. You video clearly captures the ever changing water and vessel traffic conditions in real time. Your video clearly denotes the attitudes of vessels how they can handle some of these rough water conditions minius the human load factor. Didn't see too much inforcement by the NJSP. I guess they met their monthly quota for written infractions as well as their harassment criteria. Guys another wonderful Action packed video that in my eyes didn't disappoint. If the tide was running 5kts that means I was going 10kts just to maintain some control. Those Bertrams have what they call high speed rudders (small). A Captain’s first obligation is to maintain control of his boat.

Even better, that’s there headquarters that appears in some of these videos right next to the bridge. 100% of these outrageous waves are boat generated and not caused by tides or currents as proven by how calm the canal is when no boats are present.

    The 5 ABSOLUTE rules for traversing the Point Canal from a Master Captain: 1) ONLY go thru the canal during slack tide. The window is an hour before or after dead high or low tide. 2) Trim your engines up if possible. 3) NO PASSENGERS forward of midship either in bow seating or foredeck. ESPECIALLY children. 4) DO NOT PASS vessel ahead of you 5) KEEP to the RIGHT side of the canal.

  • @johnturner2175

    @johnturner2175

    This “MASTER CAPTAIN” is questionable at best. The most important thing and one this captain didn’t say was put life jackets on the kids and the adults that you expect will go overboard to save any children that go overboard. If you are a captain you will be in the defense table in court and you will be asked why you didn’t do this and if you had, that child would still be here so captain don’t give us any “yes but” crap.

    So I can only surmise that this is the first time you watched this particular channel. I point this out because 99.9% of weekend boaters on this channel don’t even put on life jackets, in fact when a boat does get into trouble you can witness the people looking for them they were never even told about the location of the jackets. I know to a lot of people I seem to be a hard ass and I don’t mean that. I’m 73 and when I was 12 is the first time in my life that I came very close to losing my life. I wasn’t on a boat I was swimming after a boat see I beached my boat and went to my friends house, by the time I got back my boat had drifted away from the beach. I thought I won’t have a problem swimming out to it. The one thing I didn’t consider was the wind see I felt know matter how hard I swam I couldn’t reach it. I would get so tired I had to float on my back before I could start again, I looked around for help but there wasn’t any. By the time I got to the boat it was 1/2 3/4 of a mile from shore. When I did catch it all I could do was huge the outboard motor for what seemed like an hour. If you go on a boat with kids they are dependent on you so don’t wait to get into trouble anticipate it and enjoy the water but you better respect it.@@MrChopsticktech

    You can absolutely maintain control or steering just by forward motion and without those ridiculous wakes as proven by what little power is required in docking a boat. Outboards and IOs have absolutely no excuse because their propeller thrust is steerable and I’ve even taken single screw inboards that actually have a rudder through with strong tidal currents with little wake as long as making way against the currant. Outgoing is even better because it’s a free ride that you can just run faster than the currant to maintain control and still not make a wake.

    @@rileypup5959 only in NJ are those people called Benny’s. I now live in Florida and started calling the visitors Benny’s but a couple of friends told me that phrase is only a NJ phrase. Do you remember? I think it was in Bayhead on route 35 people used to keep a sign out on the curb that said Benny’s go home? I loved that. 😂 😂
