The little Mako coming it did it picture perfect ! Stayed on the back of a wave without climbing over or letting the wave behind him catch his stern. 😁👍

Those covers are sometimes hard to make sure that there clicked in correctly! I know I have them on my verado,s have to trim the motors all the way down to get them to snap in properly. But that's one baseball player who has no idea how to trim his boat out properly thing is listing to the right hardcore! Time for trim tab lessons

I used to take a 15 foot Boston Whaler out Barnegat (NJ) inlet in conditions worse than this. I tend to think smaller boats are easier here since they will turn on a dime to ride the waves. No way you can do that with a large boat in a narrow channel.

Yes precisely. Gotta ride to top back of the waves and go with them. Had to to this once in my 20' Aquasport. Really fun and nerve wrecking.

These videos are a great way to determine the kind of boat and hull design you want when shopping for a boat that can handle rough water.

Next two ones (three returning from sea and the young couple) was quite smart as well. Avoided bashing and losing something.

Homespun in "Double troubl" is an AMAZING boat pilot! On his return trip @8:35, he knew exactly when to ride a wave from behind him (throttles down) or power over the backside of one in front (throttles up) to keep his craft moving perfectly forward through the slop and keeping it high and dry. Even when another larger boat passes him and puts him in their wake (Self-entitled turdburgler). HATS OFF to this man in the Sea Pro!

Man I saw that poor little Mako buried behind those swells and expected a huge fail. But my man was just riding that shit like a surfboard, he nailed it! Excellent captaining.

Love that you leave the natural sound of ocean waves, and the sound of the boats attempting to cut through the water. Great skyline shot of Miami. Watching from Illinois.

That Sun Runner needs to secure that anchor a little better. It's about to go medieval mace on that bow!

Note to self: never buy a used boat in Miami!!!

They are typically fiberglass, so salt water doesn't really hurt them

Nice to see some boaters that know how to run an inlet and not beat the crap out of their boat. Also glad to see some beach scenery back

Another great vid how interesting. My dad used to be a boat dealer here in the uk. Only small stuff but he really was at one with the sea. We used to wave ride and fish at the same time in swells like this great fun. Christchurch ledge Mudeford dorset is the place. Tidal flow and a long ledge of rock used to boil the sea. Big shout to everyone with Mudeford in their soul. Keep up the great vids big shout from Bristol uk.👍👍👏👏👏👏😉

I am flummoxed that land lubbers who own their first $250,00 boat don't know how to trim up the bow with 4 350hp Yammies.

There is NO bar at this inlet. What causes the waves is the STRONG outgoing tide against the wind & waves.

Just love these video with natural sounds...no music.

Its nice to watch experienced people come in and go out and smaller boats no matter how bad the surf is. Not saying I don't like all the videos . Awesome yachts all the way to the dingy with the 30 HP Honda and the one's playing in the surf just because they can. Keep it up .

@@WavyBoats yes looks like "shaved" close call BUT I have similar boat in 19ft strapped with 115 hp outboard "Yammy" (2003) yet living in the North East. Haven't used in the Salt yet but learning how to "navigate" it in the Salt as it's a whole different ball game from freshwater. Otherwise he (Sea Pro) did "average" for that vessel's size. P.s. I'm not sure if it's the original Sea Pro or the new company which bears the same name as mine is the original. AND keep those good footage going it's an "educational tool.!!"

Marc M ... yeh sink, when the wave behind you pushes you forward you can loose control and the bow can veer port/starboard , if extreme the boat can continue turning side on to that wave, the wave then rolls the boat. It’s called breaching...the safest position is on the back of the wave travelling at the same speed

Loved waves like that as a youngster! Riding them in 30 knot winds in a Mirror Dinghy or 470 with spinnaker up: HEAVEN!!!

The guy driving the cat should spend money on learning how to drive a cat. That thing, that big, that powerful, surely could have flown over the top of all those waves as if they were ripples, that's why you buy a cat. It was painful to watch.

In Canada they just have to be with you. Every person must have a life jacket. In the USA anyone under 13 must wear a life jacket unless they are in an enclosed cabin or the boat is Not underway

I am NR NSW as well where are all the life jackets. Even if its not law common sense would tell you to wear them. Have not heard of very many people drowning with life jackets on.

@mike force 9/10 times it's the guy with a reasonably priced older boat that has more fun, less to prove and the necessary skill to operate safely on the water. Don't believe me, hang out at the boat ramp and watch the six figure semen that have a tough time even backing their shit down the ramp, nonetheless getting it off the trailer. Common sense is one of those things that can't be bought.

@@bushape2591 once took the National Motor Life Boat School guys out in a 8 foot breaking bar at Ocracoke inlet (in NC) they were freaking out about the short wave period, said "how the (expletive deleted) do you do anything in this!" I'd take a big breaking bar with a long wave period over a nasty 6 foot chop as far as ease of handling any day... The irregularity of it can bite you in the backside if you don't pay attention. (Oh, and "Oregon inlet is on the east coast... Outer Banks of NC)

I am a surfer and hard core fisherman, The Columbia River bar in Oregon is Coasties play ground here in NW and to fish this you better know how to operate a boat let me tell I have seen the chop so bad that standing up was a trick but yahhh consistent intervals even on a big day manageable. Merica. We don't drown. I'm from where this video is filmed. It's absolutely mind blowing how many ppl don't have a life vest on. You should see how many kids ride the bow of the boat through there while their unskilled father is piloting the boat. And 90% of the time the kids aren't wearing life vests. It's insane.

This is insane. I would not be caught dead doing this in a small boat no way. I have been on a boat in a lake when it was choppy but never in the ocean. Too scary for me espcially in a small boat.

Haulover in Miami is known for being sketchy. Once you're in or out it's all good. Just that stretch is brutal.
