I've found with Double butted spokes snap on the butted bit i've always run 14 gauge spokes 4 cross with profile hubs and 3 cross with other hubs 👍

Straight for me. Ti spokes break on me even the new ones. Straight have lasted the longest so far. I work out with weights so I don't notice any difference in spoke weight at all

I have never laced a wheel before but I have been building up bmx bikes for a while now and I think I'm going to give it a shot. Only problem is I don't know what spoke length to get. ( The hub is Odyssey clutch v1 and Odyssey lighthouse rim)

im about to build a set of new wheels and want to know if butted spokes are just as good as stainless straight guage spokes,as im looking at the shadow conspiracy featherweight butted spokes and want to know if you would recommend them with the g-sport tapered hex alloy nipples or stick with brass nipples, my other option is weather to go with the eclat stainless spokes or the odyssey hgs spokes and again for saving weight i was going to go with the g-sport tapered hex alloy nipples and if i was to go with titanium spokes which im considering ,so again would you recommend going with the alloy g-sport nipples or stick with brass,i mainly ride street park and bowls and dirt jumps so i want light weight but without compromising strength,my wheels cop there fare share of abuse with 360's and tail whips and decent drops off stair sets

Hey mate, Generally speaking, If you compare a stainless steel butted spoke to a stainless steel straight gauge spoke, the butted spoke will be lighter, but the straight gauge spoke will be slightly stronger. That's essentially the trade-off. In regards to nipples. The G-sport taper hex nipples are certainly an excellent option, just keep in mind they require a proprietary spoke key to work on them. A quality brass nipple will usually be the most durable option. We also have some high quality 7075 T-6 aluminium nipples from Spectre which have proven to be very durable for a lightweight nipple. With all of this said, if you are harder on your gear, I would recommend sticking with quality stainless steel straight gauge spokes, and brass nipples.
