The BMW X6 35d is powered by an inline i6 6-cylinder Turbo Diesel engine and delivers 286 HP & 580Nm of torque. In our opinion, the 286HP hp of the BMW X6 are more than enough for the car, they are fun, sporty, and comfortable at the same time.
The BMW X6 35d has a 6-Speed Automatic Steptronic Transmission gearbox. The gear shifts are very aggressive you can feel it when you drive in SPORT MODE but when you try to drive normal the gears are super soft. Also, when you hit a paddle on your steering wheel it shifts directly.
Let's look at the BMW X6 35d fuel consumption. According to factory specifications, the manufacturers promise that the combined fuel consumption is 8,3l/100km. For a 3.0l diesel engine with 286hp acceptable. But the driving style plays a big role, because if you drive sporty you can never keep the prescribed manufacturer consumption. On the other hand, if you drive very economically, you can even get below the factory specification. Further information is that the tank volume includes 85 liters, which is a lot. With a full tank, the BMW X6 35d reaches 1024 kilometers. For an everyday car sports car this is very impressive. 2185Kg are ideal for BMW X6. A heavy car makes a car consume more. The heavy weight is not noticeable in the acceleration because the 286hp feel very quick. According to the factory, the BMW X6 35d accelerates from 0-100 in 6,9 seconds, which is very impressive for 286hp, considering that the car is a little bit heavy at 2185kg. From our own experience we can confirm that the acceleration feels much faster. The X6 needs 30,7 seconds from 100-200 and 37,6 seconds from 0-200
The top speed of the BMW X6 35d is 236km/h which is not very impressive for a car with 286hp. A car with 286hp could go over 250km/h easily, but the car reaches top speed very quickly. Because of the heavy weight, the speed feels very solid. The wind noise at higher speeds are comfortable
The BMW X6 35d suspension is amazing. The suspension can be changed in the different driving modes. In sport mode it is hard and stiffer, and you have more feeling for the road and bumps, the car starts to bounce a little. In comfort mode, the suspension changes to soft, so you don't feel as much of the road. The handling in curves of the BMW X6 35d is optimal, because you can drive even at high speeds in sharp curves without understeering or oversteering. However, the cornering position is also dependent on the weight. The steering is very accurate and direct, so you do not have to steer much. Even when braking down hard from high speeds, the car behaves quietly. The BMW X6 35d sound from the exhaust is nothing special.
The size of the BMW X6 35d is 4,8m in length and includes a width of 1,9m, which overall represent a very large vehicle. This can be compared to a Mercedes-Benz GLE.
