Hi, I’m having an issue with my 1 Series E87. I lost the instrument cluster, OBD port and high beams after a jump start. It blew my FRM which I have had repaired and have high beams back. I have replaced the JBE and the instrument cluster and neither of those worked. The OBD port has power but not 12v just about 3v for some reason. I’m at a bit of a loss now, do you have any suggestions at all? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Love the videos. Thank you.

So question.. Recently had codes for cam position sensor. (Exaust side) got it fixed and it runs so smooth. However, i decided to give it some full throttle under load around 3-5k rpms and i heard this god awful metallic crunch/clanking noise. Only happens around 3-5krpm under heavy load at full throttle. Could this be in the timing area of the engine? It doesnt sound like bottom end at all and under normal load/ idle theres no noises or ticks. Notes: new timing chain tensioner, vanos solinoids are fine and reading 10.5v as well as mechanically working well. Im thinking about running a boar scope and seeing if its the cam gear bolts missing causing chain slap or worn chain guides before taking the valve cover off. Other than those speculations what else could it be? N52b30 with the magnesium valve cover. And there is no check engine or service codes.

Hi, my 2011 bmw x3 28i has the engine light on for the following two codes: 131508 Variable Camshaft timing Control (VANOS), intake, cold start, not controllable. And 130108 VANOS, Inlet: control fault, position not reached. * When I took it to bmw they gave me these two codes and a broad estimate of needing "vanos inlet gear". They won't say a part without me paying them over $1000 for their diagnoses scam they run. Please tell me what part(s) I need to buy to get this check engine light off/codes off? I asked for advise from the "advisor" person at bmw and told them my inspection sticker was expiring very soon so I need to get this engine light off and they said Id have to get it diagnosed right away and then they said it would be an even higher cost diagnoses then originally stated. There trying to take advantage of my situation. Please tell me what parts you think I need and I'm going to take them to a good mechanic I know to install

Brother thank you for let people know because that cable almost killed me when it failed on the highway going 110 km\hr the car shutdown the car was completely dead I was lucky I was on the Wright shoulder and I was able to pull over and after I send the car at dealer they told me it's a recall and the replaced but if anyone has not replaced that specially on E 90's do it as soon as possible...

Hello, can you help with this please .getting below in ista. S 0204 No Communication possible with: Transfer Box . VTG module is red in module list tree. 4×4 abs lights on.. To add more details. When I first saw 4×4 aws lights and errors 52d1 vtg transducer server motor, 52d4 vtg incremental transducer 5f3a dsc transfer case internal .. after that took to dealer. He said need to replace transfer case actuator costing 2500$. Now when I scan seeing the above errors s0204 no communication with transfer case.. Not sure if dealer disabled the system to protect. There were no repairs done

Hi Dean, Can this be responsible for the central locking failure on the e90s?? Mine failed the main dealer "fixed it" blew 3 weeks later they refused to replace the parts or fix it properly so I'm stuck with failed central locking and they could not even diagnose or tell me what the problem is causing the central locking to blow twice (This was when they were doing the recall on the power cable and heater) after which the heater now makes a noise also which it didn't before, bloody cowboys mate.. Hopefully you can throw light on the central locking failure issue..? Incidentally got an e46 and an E90 do guess I'm gonna have to check both of these for this module then see if it's been done.. If your car has comfort access (keyless access), sometimes the insulation on the wires inside the door handles can degrade over time, which will cause a short and blow the central locking fuse. Might be worth sussing out if you have comfort access.

Hey Dean, I had a question I was hoping you could help with. I have a bmw 08' 128i with the n52 manual trans. I replaced my valve cover as well as the CCV breather hose. After the job the car seemed to run okay-ish it did have a sort of rough startup but I expected it to for first startup in a month or so. but I noticed after taking it for a drive the next day that my car stalls out when coasting in gears like 3rd and higher. it won't idle as it should when I put the clutch in. The revs drop like normal but then drop right past idle and the engine shuts down but starts right back up without issue. Drives good normally though. It also has extremely rough cold starts now where the idle is all over the place for a few seconds until it settles out. any help would be great. Thanks!

Timing is off and it's over retarding, I forgot what exactly it is but when you change the valve cover gaskets on these you need to do something to set timing back in place I forgot what the part is.

I got a 2010 E93 with no power at all, even the terminals under the bonnet are dead and I can't get into the boot to access the battery, any ideas please because I've lost the will to live with the thing, it's had the power cable recall 12 months ago

My BMW E90 318i 2011 keeps shutting down on me. There’s no power in the dash when this happens and it’s impossible to start. Sometimes the car drives perfectly and then other times it’s just shuts down while driving and I’ve verified that its not a battery issue. What might be the problem here?

, I have a bmw 330xd e90 2009 , so the problem is like that... I was 70 km/h and I release the throttle..and at 65 km/h it was a knocking !! I put my foot on the throttle and then it's disappeared the knocking ! I release again the throttle same speed 60-70 km/h and it does again the knocking ! But just in this speed from 70 to 60 km/h , I do that again but when I was hearing the knocking I put it in neutral and same result disappeared the knocking when is in neutral from 70 to 60 its not any knocking just in drive it is the knocking and just at this speed from 70 to 60 km/h , when is my foot on the throttle at this speed it's not any knocking just when I release the accelerator !!! Please help !!!

Mine caught fire..where In my case it was at the front where this thick wire ( 3 wires inside) changes to single wire..and ignited the fire while cranking at winter cold

I changed my boost solenoid 3 times because my 2011 BMW 335i coupe keeps cutting out under full throttle and sometimes it’ll throw me into stupid mode as well. PLEASE HELP HELP HELP. I am sooooo frustrated and overwhelmed with this I had a BMW master tech look at it for months and he couldn’t figure it out!!! Im on MHD Stage 2+ with 93 octane pump gas only with full bolt ons and either a stock turbo or vargas level one or vargas level 2 turbo, the previous owner couldn’t prove to me that he swapped the turbo so I think its stock. GOD HELP ME im so close to ditching this piece of shit and driving it into a wall!!!!

I have a 335i 2010 coupe, I want to know if it is normal when I turn off the car the water pump stays active for about 25 minutes at 50% then it turns off, even if I open the door the pump activates but if I turn on the ignition it turns off until starting the car, the car runs well and does not heat up, the pump is new

Normal it’s meant to do that to cool the engine after you shut off the car. Also the turbos need to be cooled which use the coolant so it’s perfectly normal it’s to stop you damaging the turbo and the engine therefore it will run until everything is cooled down.

No ! When you open the door the buzzing your hearing is the fuel pump priming not the water pump.

Exactly and why was that because fire is indeed a big issue here. As water and electric don’t go well together 😁 but not always does it cause a fire only one person I knew had it catch fire which I did a video on. Usually this fry’s all module chips or causes a shortage to all electronics as your driving loosing power.

Just after some advice, my BMW e90 lci sounds like its about to stall when the revs go under 1.5/ vibrates slightly. Also when the snowflake/ice button is on the revs go up and when I turn it off it goes down, do you know what this could be?

the "snowflake" is aircon, your revvs go up as it needs more fuel to circulate/run the system, thus, more revvs. the 1st issue, could be coil packs giving up, or plugs could be dead.

Check the crankcase valves
