Hi Dean, Thanks for showing my burnt out boot lol, just to update ALL our E60 fans, in my case BMW UK have agreed to buy my car and dispose of it . They were going to fix it but couldn't obtain the wiring loom new, so they are having to buy it . I feel they treated we fairly, with a good settlement, and I still have the courtesy car to allow me time to shop around. So good on you Dean for getting this out, I still have good relations with my local service manager, and will be buying another M sport 530 LCI to enjoy hopefully with no dramas this time. What a f#ck up 😳 I’ve had several letters about the battery terminal recall for a 2005 E60 but never bothered, certainly won’t be now either. Glad no one was hurt in that car fire, disgraceful.

I completely agree with you ! I’m so glad this and his family are ok that’s the main thing. I would strongly advise you NOT to get this done please do not right now ! I will be contacting BMW weekly to find out when they will rectify this and when it’s fully safe to be done and let you all know.

Ahh man I’m having bad electrical failures , dash going crazy checked battery / alternator. Now ordered a new JBM module to be coded was going to ring bmw tomorrow to see if it’s had the b+ module recall. 335d 2007 :( just replaced turbos/ic differential and now this

Thanks for the heads up. My 2007 525i E60 had the discharging battery error from late 2019/ early 2020. So it all makes sense now. My recall has been dated August 2021. I had a lot of work done as faults appeared on battery, MAF sensor, crankshaft sensor. And I even needed ECU replaced. Is it safe to get the recall work done now?

Hi all Just got off the phone with a BMW service manager and he said he’s never heard of this issue after the recall and said he’s done hundreds of them. I gave as much details as I could from your video about the cover being replaced and then catching fire after the recall etc and he said this is a very rare scenario… the battery discharge warning comes up on my dash but after watching this video I don’t trust to take my car in Not sure what to do now lol, any suggestions? P.s thank you for all the good work you do and helping people out with their car issues and making it easier for everyone, may God bless you and your loved ones.

Got a second recall for my e81, first one was battery wire I believe which I had done, second is to do with the Aircon/blower motor which they'll let me know when to have it done

I have over heating problem with my bmw e90 328xi with a N52 engine. I hachange the water pump, radiator. Am told my head gasket is ok. It runs well in low RPM and over heats in high RPM. Am Walter. Regards from Accra Ghana.

Very very Interesting bud. Mines had it done by Evans Halshaw in 2018 so it should be ok! I got an original E61 tho be interesting to revisit this one with BMWs excuses!!

THANX for the Heads Up Doc ... My 2007 E61 is booked in at my local dealer for exactly this recall... E61 Tourings have the same power cable going to the main battery that's in the off side rear boot compartment. Should I cancel immediately ?

I had the same problem mine melted and got really corroded its horrible. I cut it and added a new end and greased it and has a charging issue only in the morning start ups afternoon start ups absolutely no issues at all.

My 650I had a similar problem, Car started having some weird faults and when I sent it to the shop the battery cable was all burnt up... Once changed everything is working nicely, but damn more than 300 euros for a battery cable...

My e61 went in today for the recall and all they did was re-greased it .

Could this be my electrical fault in my 545i it seems to be charging at 15.5v and randomly drops to low voltage and car goes stupid It wouldn’t start yesterday I popped the boot then it started it’s strange

*** Quick update *** 30th April 2021 *** Having just spoke to BMW UK with regards to these latest developments , they seem to be completely oblivious to what's going on which is very concerning considering Doc. spoke to them at length about this. Suffice to say I've cancelled my E61s upcoming recall appointment on the 7th of May as I don't fancy having a perfectly working decent example of an E61 ruined by a recall designed to avoid the very thing it's being recalled for.

Had the idiots at Swansea bmw do the egr recall. They said they replaced the part then I had errors after. Took it back in and they charged me to ‘fix’ the issue. The error was Egr but they said it was something different. Back and forth and many charges later and still get issues. Complained to bmw direct and they don’t care but take the word of the dealer. Put me off bmw for ever and the dealer is crooked. Wont let them touch it again.

This is about the 20th scenario I've heard of this month where the dealer screwed up...but this is the worst case scenario...to be a recall, and the fix is hazardous...prime example of a cheap, overpaid company...couldn't even get Tom Cruise to do their latest commercial😁 #socheap #bmw #burnmywheels

I ain’t to sure on that one bro if I was you go and do it and let me know IF anything happens, From what I understand it’s only the battery cable cover that’s the problem right now, until I get further information to say otherwise.

Hi Doc I guess that BMW e60 is the biggest shit ever made, for the last 4 years I bought it , all I had is breakdowns , I've seen all the problems you can immagine Sorry to bother you with my story but I can't resist : mine has stopped two weeks ago and won't start, and just after solved the AC problem by bypassing the fog sensor on the windshield, I've tried to replace it but no luck so I went to bypassing it, problem it send back wrong values , in normal it should send 35hz, instead it send 1k 23k and random values so ... Now it stopped on the road while driving back home, when I put the key all warnings come up the whippers start working but can't start the car, checked all the fuses nothing bad, the alternator also is ok errors I got : A3B9 Message (fuel pump) error, receiver Kombi, Transmitter EKP A55B Instrument cluster : message (alive counter, safety9, from Advanced Crash Safety Module (Advanced Crash Safety Module (ACSM)) K-CAN, MUE 3 07 A565 Message (display of engine data) error, receiver KOMBI, transmitter DME-DDE finally great thanks for your videos they help me on some troubles

I have bmw120d m spot fuel heated filter catch fire in my BMW I can’t even send you a pictures of the car and on fuel heater filter and I took it to Bmw they said to me nothing wrong with your car everything is perfectly fine and I know there’s something not right but they said everything is fine if you want I send you photo of the heated fuel filter
