Great stuff man! Glad to see videos again! All this M5 stuff makes me seriously consider one instead of the forced induction bmw stuff. Duane’s M5 looked really nice. Especially with the dinan intakes. Very nice and classy

Good to see you back! If you can figure out how it grenaded then it will remain a mystery. Nathan have you ever heard of any one who had a 6 speed manual E60 M5 changing it to an automatic. I know there would be quite a few changes to the electronics, different shifter, writing harness, paddle shifters, transmission, rear diff. Etc and probably to cost prohibitive?

Found your channel quite recently, and I'm really enjoying the content particularly in light of my situation. My situation is, of course, ownership of a 2007 M6 with 67k miles and original rod bearings. I'm also afflicted with the compulsion to do all the work on this car myself. Question... What do you think about the Mahle rod bearings for the S85? I suppose the more general question is what rod bearing would you use if you didn't mind paying a little more than for the ACL and wanted to never do rod bearings again.

The vanos lines were replaced with the rod bearings and bolts if it wasn’t the rods then all of it is new . * vanos lines * rod bolts and bearings Was a new oil cooler too.

A little off-topic, M 62T U head bolts lost most of the torque. 22 foot pounds left. Ever seen that before Nathan? Was a head gasket failure only.

hello! could you help me? My e34 m50b20 is having a really hard time starting up after it has sat for a night. its like firing on a few cylinders when cranking, smell of fuel coming from the exhaust. But finally when i get it to start after a lot of cranking, i have to hold the pedal at 2-3k rpm for 20ish seconds, after that it runs perfect when warm and starts up nicely after , throttle response is good and not sluggish while driving at all. Idle is a tad bit low, but nothing too bad.

Hmm, maybe I didn't get a good look but that oil pan could possibly be welded where it cracked?

How can you be sure it's not the rod bearing? you havent taken the cap off and check. the rod bearing fail can lock the rod.

Ugly fenders, ugly wheels, and terrible exhaust. Why make a questionable 5 series design even more ugly. It's an E60 M5 though so that's a plus.

@@BmwMe-uh9sy Seems like three people do judging by the likes my comment got. In addition use google to read the reviews of the e60 when it was first released. The whole car journalist community and gear heads collectively recognize most ugly 5 series to date, hence the name "Bangle butt" read up some. It's an ugly car with even ugly mods. It's okay if you like it.

@@BmwMe-uh9sy Still hated and prices reflect that. Only thing the E60 M5 has going for it is the fact it's a v10. Best 5 series generation no argument is the E39. I'd take a F10 over E60 any and every day. You like the E60 and there's no problem with that 👍
