@@CommanderKingpin the cost of bearing service in this engine is similar to changing the turbo, flywheel and injectors in a 10 years old, 2.0L turbo diesel with 250k km. Might be even less tbh.

On my Volvo, change the cat convertor for a high-flow one and you'll have the CEL right away.

The way the engine sits in the engine bay is absolutely amazing! As if it would be stock.

I think this car might be the actual PERFECT BMW cocktail. The greatest naturally aspirated engine they ever put in a production car in arguably the perfect chassis in the E46 M3 with the best gearbox for the job. And to top it all off, just done in such an OEM feeling way. Seriously incredible.

It's nowhere near the greatest NA engines of all time imo, when there's stuff like the mclaren f1, lexus lfa, ferrari 812, carrera GT, GT3 RS, lambo svj, and the upcoming gordon murray T50 and aston valkyrie. Still an awesome engine for a more "mainstream" sports saloon.

@@siddharthsharma8940 I still believe the S85 is up there with the all time greats. Is it flawed? Sure, but it’s an awesome sounding engine paired to an awesome handling chassis for a midsized sedan.

I wasn’t expecting the interior to be that sleek and clean. Truly an amazing build

I've seen a few S85s in the E30s and a E39 M5, but man this combo is a surefire winner. I can't even imagine how long it took to even assemble the parts together, no less to get them synergized in the chassis. Work Of Art!

I’m happy Max enjoyed the car so much even though he was sweating his balls off. What a champ😄👍

Once he gets the downshift blips sorted this will be M car nirvana. Great vid. Properly impressive amount of thought, effort and love in this build.

One guy in Sweden put an Lambo V10 engine in a old Volvo-wagon-brick. Not joking. Car is called "Volvorghini".

@@jackdoe3889 It's an 8.4L V10 making 640 horsepower, and weighing in at 650 pounds dry weight. Plenty of enough oomph to make this not a problem, besides maybe F/R weight ratios, but it's a Saab 9-3, so who cares. Mean to be be dangerous. Besides, slap some turbo's on it, and they make well into 3000HP on a built motor, and sniff 1000hp with stock blocks.

What an incredible car!!! There have been other V10 swapped E46 M3s, but this one is so clean. Absolutely amazing.

Funky car I dare say, but still, would love for someone to actually get hold of BMW E46 M3 GT-R. The proper one... (if those are still alive somewhere that is, as from what I remember only 6 were ever made, 1 is in BMW Museum, 2 were sold, 1 went missing, 2 were scrapped as soon as they left production line). The dream. The legend. Most Wanted 2005 fans are you here? :D

What a beast of a car. It seems as if he resolved the delayed shifting which plagued the SMG gearboxes that came with these cars as well. Great video.

The way this thing picks up from 200 makes it seem like it has more than 500hp. I guess it's a combination of body weight and lighter flywheel and the CF driveshaft etc. Amazing build.

@@topkek7003 He was thinkin on how fast it goes after 200....not how fast he reaches 200.....In this car kg/hp makes the diference among stock E60 M5.Less kg=better acceleration and better braking.

That V10 fits pretty well and different transmission! It’s insane!

I have the 2005 M3 Mystic Blau, slick top, 6 speed, anthracite cloth/leather seats, CSL rims. Super Sprint Race exhaust. Love my car. The fact a V10 is in the same bay as a 3.2 L is insane.

Wow this thing is absolutely sick. Sounds amazing. Other than the many issues with the V10 it's perfect.

Still dream of owning an E46 & E92 M3.. Hopfully soon ill have one. This S85 swap is just beautiful

What a smart solution the dry sump for this swap, all the other e46 v10's struggle a lot to fit the engine and have to modify a lot of stuff to do so...

Crazy, brutal power and i love the sound when its floored.

I agree on the wing, normally I don't like 'em but with the speeds this high tech hot rod is capable of I think the added stability becomes a necessity, which makes the wing extra cool.

Exactly, we are not a big fan of huge wings but this was a bit necessary to maintain stability at speeds of 200 kmh+. It does help a little bit. Maybe we swap into a csl boot. 😎

my favourite engine in one of my favourite looking body's with a great gearbox. this gives me something to work towards in my life.

The way this thing just goes, even from 200-300, like it just keeps pulling. That is so insane.

My ALL TIME FAVORITE BMW engine!!! A dealership owner in Escondido in San Diego bought that engine twin turbo charged and put it on his sand rail for the desert!!! INCREDIBLE POWER!!!

Nice! we did a s65/DCT into a 1 series hatch. Same amazing kick in the ass moments ... big NA M motors in small beemers rule all.

when the car actually reaches the end of the speedo that every kid looked at to see how fast it is judging by the last number on it, puts a huge smile on my face ngl.

I used to own the E63 M6 and it was probably one of the most exciting cars I have ever owned, or, driven. However, the engine problems were a nightmare especially after my warranty expired, I hope he has better luck with his V10 because that has to be the supreme BMW!

What did you replace it with? I still have mine after 7 years and don’t think I can ever sell it, I know I would regret it. Granted, I’ve had minimal issues and now at 146,000 miles. Too bad yours gave you issues.

@@vonbayernDEBuy one from a private seller so you can ask about the maintenance and get an understanding as to how the owner treated the car. The ones with questionable or no history run the risk of having been abused and not properly warmed up.

This dct from the e92 is probably one of my favorite gearboxes. Wish they still kept it around its better than the new one.

Fantastic video Max! Man that M3 V-10 is so awesome ! I too have discovered the Gopro 10 's heat management struggle. Really sucks when it shots off on you while driving, already happened to me! Winter is coming so that should help it out! Take care Max !

@@95SerGo everyone who says "sounds like an M3 GTR" must remember how it sounds, because it's a legendary car with a very particular sound typical of cars with transmission whine from straight cut gears. You can't get confused.

i'm a huge benz fan, but this, this is awesome! It just screams BMW, and that engine is something else...

The amount of work that has been put into this 😯

Inspires me to try and fit an e60 v10 engine in a f80 m3. Personally the f80 is my favorite BMW generation aesthetically and it has modern features which I'm sure would be a challenge to setup with the swap

Easiest way would be to get a standalone for the drivetrain that works separately from the rest of the car's electronics, with aftermarket gauges and aircon controls.

One of the top 5 best looking BMWs paired with one of it's top 6 engines (and no.1 engine sound wise)!! Now that's a pass!

Normally i don't see video over to 10 minutes but this video is art rs... this is the dream to Brazilian driver, is soo good to see and the video have a nice presentation, i can feel the feelings with this driver rs.

This is the most perfect swap ever!

Being a current owner of an all stock e46 M3, i love this. My personal dream build, was that v10, or even a bmw v12 from a 760i into an old school 850ci. Wonder if anyone in Germany has done that swap yet?

Hartge H5 has V12 M70 engine into E34 5 series, Hartge H50 has V10 into E92 3 series. 850 already had V12, so i do not understand which kind of swap you would like to do :P
