Thanks for this, it seems things haven't changed since my old F650 Funduro (also part Italian design). Your video persuaded me to buy an SV650!!

I was thinking about buying a xcountry, but looking at this I'm having doubts if I can handle the maintenance. When even a simple oil change takes that much work and know how, I don't want to know how much it takes if something really breaks. I'm a bad mechanic so I guess I will stick with my bicyles, at least they don't need an oil change btw. thank you for those videos

@@TheOldMechanic That’s the problem today. People are too sensitive. I say if they are that sensitive go home and hide. Hahahah. I Love the video my friend. It was funny and very informative. Thank you. Randy

I love the authentic moments💖 It happens in all garages. Most mechanics don't like to be looked at. But the truth is that a good mechanic should not be ashamed at all. This section: 18:58 After editing, it turned out really funny. You do a great job, you have a wonderful channel, and again thank you very much for sharing!!!

Hi , are you sure we need to screw the oil tap to check the level or not ? Difference can be 1cm and risk of extra oil .

Good morning old mechanic, my name is Lucio, I live in Italy, precisely in Friuli Venezia Giulia. I recently purchased a BMW G650X Country motorcycle (no ABS). The motorbike is from the year 2007, and has 16,000 kilometers under its belt. I am the second owner, when I brought it home, I replaced the tires, the brake fluid, the air filter, the engine oil with synthetic Motul 7100 15W50 (as described in the manual), and the air filter. 'oil, and the two spark plugs, with two equivalent to iridium. The thing that bothers me the most is the hardness of the clutch lever, and I'm always afraid that the rope might break. Is there a way to put a hydraulic clutch? Thank you very much for your response, and I congratulate you for the very useful videos. Best regards, Lucio Lorettu.

Hi. What is the make and model of ratchet you use in the beginning. It has a shaft running unside the handle so you rotate the end cap. Brilliant tool. Im trying to locate one. Great videos.

Buongiorno vecchio meccanico, io mi chiamo Lucio, vivo in Italia, precisamente in Friuli Venezia Giulia.

nice job. I have a black dipstick on my 850GS and I find it difficult to read, why they can't make the dipstick out of metal or even another colour like my wife's civic which is orange, so much easier.

Absolute right ! This dipstick has a tiny mark and that should be the oil level. While other bikes have a simple min / max mark 😉

Hi Waliid, I always fill bikes up to the right level, as whats in the manual. For me the 2.3 liter is just a guideline. I don't know if I putted some more oil in 😉
