It's Harmon Kardon, they're known for clarity, especially for genres such as acoustic, classical, vocals, etc. If you've ever owned a pair of their headphones or something along the line of Bose headphones you'll understand. It's not that it's a good or bad thing, just preference. It'll do a decent job of pop and rap but other sound systems are probably better for drum n bass and other genres with punchy, overwhelming bass.

i have a F20 135i 2018 and the sound of Harman Kardon is amazing.

how was the bass? We have a 2015 X5 5.0 and there is zero bass with this system?

owned an AUDI A5 with B&O for a year and switched to a BMW 435i with HK - gotta say that B&O beats HK in sound clarity, bass and overall "oomph" then again, it is not something you notice unless you have a trained ear and/or listen to either of these systems on a daily basis. having either is great, B&O is just a little bit better if you are able to appreciate it.

Play songs wth USB or directly from the CD for the best quality. If you use bluethoot you lose a little bit of quality

Are most Harman Kardon systems the same? To me, Harman Kardon has a clean sounding system, but bass doesn't seem very powerful. I have a Kia Optima SX with a 630 watt, 10 speaker sound system, 7.1 system. You should test out your system with some bass heavy music.

Monsieur Africain All depends on the EQ Think the M4 has logic 7 so EQ can be set. I've heard Harmon Kardon on M2 sounds good but lacks mids but only has bass and treble option no EQ. Does sound good but not clear enough. I have Focal upgrade speakers in my car and sounds awesome. Bass is much more fuller and clearer. Better highs and mids. But for HK I'd say its bloody good.

Awwab Asif bro, Focals are very expensive lol. I like my Harman Kardon system, the bass like you said is present, mids are ok but not the greatest and treble is good. But I can imagine Focal sounding better (MB Quart too).

I have an e60 530d car. Factory sound system of my car is so bad that I don't wanna listen to any song. So, I replaced it with hertz speakers,tweeters and slim subwoofer of blam. The result is nearly like sound coming from Harman kardon . Total price is about 1000 $

Why do u put the fader a bit to the left? Sounds good but the bass is a bit weak!?

always have done, read a comment on a forum, so stuck the fader to the left and enjoyed the sound experience. So left it there in all my cars with HK.

Ultimusss LoL I've heard burmester maybe I'm deaf but sounds crap. You hear it from each speaker rather than being it centralised. Like no control over the music. With HK it's sounds really good even at high volumes. No distortion at all.

Yeah I’ve got the burmester in the new Mercedes. It’s got clarity but not as good as the overall experience of the HK

There is an AMP with Harman Kardon or Bang and Olufsen or even Bowers and Wilkins speakers from BMW. I heard the HK they sound too bassy and too muddy,

The HK system in F3x/F8x is really bad for what it's supposed to be. The amp is weak, the speakers are crappy, no real bass (only badly placed mid-bass woofers), L7 decoding is strange and not configurable, etc. Even after fine EQ calibration, the system is far behind possibly any B&O, Mark Levinson, B&W and others; even the cheap B&O in Audi A5 is miles ahead. The worst thing is, due to MOST and strange impedances, upgrading is utterly complicated and expensive.

M4's Harmon Kardon sound system sucks. No bass, weak mids. How do I know? Because i have one. It's a shame they did not offer the B&O sound system.

LOL yah not all Harman Kardon systems are good, I agree. The speakers are just named that way to on our speaker grills to get our hopes up (I have a Harman Kardon Sound System in My Kia Optima SX, and whilst the sound isn't terrible, I'm not impressed by it).

I have the harmen karden in my f31, it's great compared to most stock systems. Have you been fully into the equaliser setup and fine tuned it to your tastes/music? I get plenty if not too much bass and the mid's are spot on. It's all about the song choice, quality of that audio file and the fine tuning of the sound system for the genre of music. Don't forget you can set it up then save those settings to a shortcut number in the I drive, then do the same for different genres and switch in between seemlessly.

This is not a review. This is you playing music on a video which means it will only ever sound as good as the person who watches it's speakers.

If it was a review I'd be blabing about its functions, and the people who have watched it must have a good set of speakers apart from 9 people. I really don't get your point.

Please leave all the settings at default. You're ruining the sound. You don't use fader like that. You're fucking up the sound stage and balance of the EQ from Logic 7. They already added enough bass and treble from factory. Do a frequency sweep and measure with an omni mic and you will see how much bass and treble they already added from factory. Everyone just likes to turn up bass and treble...
