I have a ZHP and I’m replacing pretty much everything at it’s high mileage (190K) and other than the cam shafts it’s not worth the premium. I did get it for cheapish though. If you want to keep your car low miles and completely stock and then sell it for a good price later I guess the ZHP is worth it. But if you’re the type to mod your car for better performance ZHP is a total waste. You can buy the ZHP control arms, upgrade the oil pump to something far better than factory threadlocker, buy better wheels that are going to be way lighter and stronger than the boat anchors that the ZHP has. If you want more pickup just get a 3.38 diff from an automatic 330i for your manual, which is what I’m doing on my ZHP. Other than some alcantara bits on the interior and the bumper my car won’t be different than a similar 330i with the same effort. The alcantara steering wheel by now is also DISGUSTING. You can even raise your rpm to the ZHP redline with a $300 tune. So yea, if you want a stock low mileage car the ZHPs hold better value, if you like to modify and have higher mileage just get a 330i and make it better than a ZHP.

I really enjoy my '04 sedan 6-spd ZHP. It's not the fastest thing on the planet, but it's peppy, fun to drive, and the most comfortable car to drive on long trips I've ever owned. I got a Highline Tuning exhaust from someone who wrecked their coupe, and out of all the other brands I've listened to, IMHO this one sounds the best. Paired w/ an aFe stage2 intake the melody pairs well together. Drive what resonates with you. I have an old Datsun Z I'm rebuilding. There is something about the sound of a straight-6 I love. Enjoy the road and be safe out there.

I have a 330xi, 330i sport and a ZHP. The zhp is different for sure, I have to disagree with you that they're just a hype up sport trim. 6 speed, high rev, and exterior kit do make a big difference for me. It depends on different people but I like the Zhp the most of all 3.

Yeah I saw that article too. I always thought that it wasn't worth it specifically over 100k as it is recommended to replace struts. It's an appearance package.

2005 E46 BMW zhp 330ci all factory is amazing. I love the look and feel of balance as I drive it via the canyons with top down. Horsepower and torque is balanced. 05 M3 is good but get ready to spend more $$$ on maintenance.. TY

Great to see a fellow E46 fanatic! One of the all-time greats IMO. A few comments… First, the steering rack.. All ZHP’s came equipped with the yellow tag rack, while “Sport Package” cars left the factory with either the yellow tag rack OR the purple tag rack. There are a few other changes for the ZHP compared to the E46 330i/ci with the regular Sport Package: the muffler is different, the headliner is anthracite, the headlight housing is black, not silver like other 330’s.. ZHP’s equipped with the automatic transmission have a specific differential cover to aid cooling.. the manual transmission didn’t get it.. The 3.64 (automatic) final drive ratio along with the 300 extra rpm is a more noticeable difference than it might appear on paper… Shadowline window trim, which is difficult to source these days, was another cosmetic change.. I think the only other E46 with shadowline trim (besides the M-Sport package cars overseas) was the E46 M3 CSL.. The thing about the ZHP was really the idea that it’s the closest you could get to a 4-door E46 M3 from the factory.. When it was launched in 2003, it introduced many features that became available on the 2004-2005 330i Sport Package (2006 for the 330ci) - specifically, the 6-speed manual gearbox. With relatively low production numbers, the ZHP isn’t going to lose its cult following any time soon.

Also, somewhere into production, the Alcantara steering wheel was recalled and replaced with the perforated leather M-Sport steering wheel.

@@DaveTony206 It is the later ones 04 or 05 somewhere around there since the alcantara wore so bad so fast. I have an ‘05 zhp coupe 6 speed with all nappa leather, but still has the cool a pillars and roof materials.

I’ve have a 2001 330ci I need to drive the zhp for myself I do love that it has a 6 speed. I need to just drive one.

Man, its not that much better but the small differences are noticeable for sure. May not be huge but the headline

One thing to add to your video is that the "Silver Cube" interior trim could also be selected when ordering the ZHP. If the buyer did not choose this interior trim then their ZHP came with the standard "Black Cube" interior trim. Good video Daniel!

I was getting thrown off with my recent purchase because I have the GSP sports package along with the S715 M-Tech 1 aero but some jackass took the three-spoke steering wheel and left the big rectangle haha

There are a lot of differences, they don't feel like the same car especially with the latest revised Steering Rack the ZHP has, which is even better than the M3s. The ZHP has tripled in value in the last few years.

​@@michaelbean5502zhp is a m pack in europe the only diference is the performance inlet camshaft, suspensión interior are changeable. in europe diesel are more expensive. the 712 rack is found in later model i bougth one from a 320d and strongflex or powerflex bushing are the big diference, in europe are a lot diesels whit m pack.

Just got offered a 6 speed zhp for my stockish zenki but not sure if I should do it. If anyone has or owned both lmk your experience and if it worth it

The ZHP has some really nice cosmetic upgrades and better cams/ecu. The suspension was also better, but with all the refreshes and suspension upgrades I am not sure if that matters anymore. The gear ratio was perhaps more of a track sporty feel. It was a tuned 330i with a sporty look. Out of the gate it was a better car, but both cars are a lot of fun to drive.

the zhp is a league above the 330, soz man, in Germany the ZHP's were the "default" stock options, compared to a pre facelift 330 the ZHP is much better

Hi :) I watch you all the time, recently even bought an e46 in sedan myself! Unfortunately only with N42b18 engine:( I live in Poland(Europe) A lot of car is rusted(mostly 325/330) That's why I found a gem myself without rust(no tarnish on the floor even!). It’s not at all about the power, honestly i think they did cams just to increase revs. The zhp is not about power even though it is the highest output version of the m54. The zhp has much more than a very slight power gain (the cams hold up to boost and make more power than norm b30’s with boost) but the zhp is special because of the interior being either alcantara or perforated leather on the later years, suspension is beefier and tuned better, rear diff is 3.07 on the zhp vs 2.93 on norm 330’s, the early zhp’s had the first 6 speed in a non-m 3 series, the m shifter is very popular for all bmw’s and compared to other shifters in the e46 it is weighted and has a 33% shorter throw. The speed limiter was raised from 126 or 128mph to 155, the rev limiter from 6500 to 6800, has a 5.6 second 0-60 with the manual vs mid 6’s on non zhp’s, has different wheels, front and rear m-tech bumpers, different roof material, 2.25inch diameter exhaust and different zhp specific muffler (i got a catback the zhp is quiet but people do put the zhp muffler on their non zhp’s). The zhp sedan is also partculary special for a lot of people since the e46 m3 never had a sedan variant so it was the ‘baby m3.’ I have an ‘05 zhp 6 speed coupe. The zhp’s are also rare, sub 11,000 made, mostly sedans, then convertibles, then coupes in terms of production numbers. The zhp manuals also have a lightened flywheel that is much quicker revving then non zhp’s. It is not about the power gain it is all the little things added up. I hope one day to go fbo with an intake and catless headers and tune, and the big goal is a centrifugal supercharger in the next 5-6 years hopefully. It is not about power it is about the entire car. I also have a ‘02 vert auto 330cic and the difference is crazy driving wise and speed wise. Ofc majority of that is probably convertible vs coupe and auto vs manual but the differences are noticeable. Read a zhpmafia forum or two and look at some BAT results and you’ll quickly see it’s not about the power. Having a 330 is cool but having the zhp is cooler and more unique.

Your comparing a heavy ass vert auto to a manual zhp? Of course the zhp feels better. There's almost 400 pounds difference... try putting two football players in the rear seats of the zhp to make it a even playing feild. Then tell me how they feel.

the 6 speed getrag and the 3.0.7 diff is the best combo in all e46 including the m. Allows the highest mph in every gear. The 5 speed zf feels like pedestrian trash ive driven a few. I pull car lengths on every e46 sedan by 3rd gear. 330xi was the closest behind me so far. Even put down a v8 sports car by 3rd gear and gave him half a car and the hit. Only joke here is that a sport model comes close to being a zhp and a sedan e46 is somehow a sports car. If you havent waisted you time or money on a sedan or {sport model} good for you. Sport will get you a couple clear plastic lights covers and a sport steering wheel. M sport gets you clear plastic light covers, a ///M stickered steering wheel and some kind of lesser than ///M painted rims with 4 shiney ///M stickers. For e46 the M3, zhp, and the wagon are relevant everything else is garbage unless you spec e46 race where zhp and m parts are banned.

Disease HP was not meant to be a super collectible rare car. It was simply three letters that the manufacturer did not use very often which happened to be ZHP, so they added a few tweaks here and there and gave it its own style for BMW enthusiast who actually think it’s cool. Which is why now I bought a 330 for $3000, and now it’s worth 28,000. It’s a super fun car, let’s not make a mole hill into a mountain

@@hellodanielchoi oh my God for some reason I found this in my comment section. And I literally rolled my car at 85 on I 77 the day after Thanksgiving. I’m so lucky to be alive. The car was completely totaled. I reread over my comments, Man I miss my car
