Sean Kretschmann so I finally got the passcode and got my phone paired successfully. Just to confirm it only works for phone calls? You can’t stream audio via this Bluetooth unit?

I'm pretty certain any modern Android phone can only make and receive phone calls through the Bluetooth, however i think iPhone's have the ability to stream music etc due to the older Bluetooth coding they use, if you manage to test it and find out i'd love to hear back so i can update the description with the info, I no longer have the E46 as I bought another E36 325i so i can't test it myself unfortunately. The HTC One M8 I recorded this video with definitely didn't do music over the Bluetooth tho and a friends Samsung Galaxy didn't either

Yeah after doing more research it looks like this version of bluetooth in the e46 can't stream audio :( only phone calls, even using an iPhone.

How to find bluetooth module in a touring?

Where do I find the bluetooth module on the bmw 330 d Touring e46 2004 year model? I cant find it nor do I have the connector when I remove the coin pocket.

tried your method but didn't werk for me. 2005 zhp so all i had to do is turn key forward and enter pairing PK 4 digit code. your video did help me by giving me the location of the module where my code was located. bottom side so thank you very much

I don't see why it shouldn't have it, have a check in the boot for the Bluetooth Module if you are unsure ;)

Very good! I have an e 46 of 2002 but with telephone, Can I put a bluetooth module? How is it done? A greeting and thanks in advance.

Yes it will work, the only thing this does is make the connection between the two pins that would previously have been made by the push of a button with the pre facelifted interior. It's completely safe as long as you use the wire in the correct pins 1 and 17. Also if you have a post 4.0 version of android you unfortunately won't be able to play music but you can still make calls, if you have an iPhone it should all work fine due to the iPhone's older bluetooth coding

so i just looked under mine and there is what looks like a insulation cover over what presumably is the wire but its wedged in there help?

Skye Villanueva honesty it’s an outdated Bluetooth system, either get a different head unit or get the aux cord plug for the day changer

I'm pretty sure every E46 comes with that connection, it should be sitting loose and not be connected to anything if you have the Facelifted car

But its only for calling? I cant hear music :(

Awesome! How do i get it to pair with my phone next time im in the car though? Like theres no bluetooth button on it

your phone will automatically connect after the first pair if your phones Bluetooth is on, it only does calls as far as I know unless you have a fairly old phone

If you try to make a call it will automatically use the Bluetooth, but only old phones seem to be able to play music through it, there isn't a setting to just have audio play through the Bluetooth on the head unit it all happens automatically as far as I know

Are you even listening to yourself and that nonsense you are spewing? what logic is that? it's logical to think it should play music on newer phones because basically everybody uses modern phones this days and old phones don't even store music like that. and what's an old phone and a new phone? what makes a phone old or new?

@@kay19833 Put it this way, the Bluetooth system in these cars are about 20 years old at this point, Bluetooth coding in phones has changed dramatically in that time and a lot of code needed to get extra things like music working through a piece of equipment designed in the 90s is now gone. I've seen that people have had success getting music to play using phones from 2011 or older hence the "old phone" term I use because let's face it, those phones are around a decade old now cementing the term "old phone". Even when I released this video they were old phones, most people generally only hold on to phones for a year or two before replacing it.

Unfortunately from what i have noticed is if you have an Android phone you can't play music or anything from it if its been updated past the Ice Cream Sandwich update, I'm pretty sure an iPhone works tho as much as i hate to say it as i am no fan of Apple products haha
