@@KickdownGermany I'm actually thinking of buying the same car with this engine, i was reviewing videos to see if its accelerating good and i like it. It looks very dynamic and sporty for 143hp. They also sell very cheap, just need to look for one without rust. Whats your opinion? You have driven it, I would like to know what you think.

@@eskrimakravmaga8536 It's a nice car, but if you always want to drive it that sporty, I'd recommend one with more horsepower. Tormenting the small engine in the long run would not do it any good in the long run.

My 318i top speed is 223km/h 6500rpm

This car Manuel, automatic top speed differend and sou fast, my car 4000 rpm 180 km speed otm is 5.5 gear.👍

Maybe after sitting for 1 month...12" to 100km/h. On gps mine did 8.5".

0-100 9 sec my touring ...

Is it a good car? i heard about the valvetronic system , what about fuel consumption?

depends on which version of the 318 it is as with mine it has no VVT but from what i can remember anything after the 2001 models will have them. MPG is decent since they're 4pots ( i get about 32-44 mpg aslong as my fuel trim is fine) and most of them are cast iron blocks so they can last a lifetime with good care ( mines pushing 110K and it mostly factory, no major faults and not a spec of rust)

@@JordanR1503 hello , I own one , a 2003 318i , it does have a valvetronic system. I'm having a problem which is a rough idle . I want to ask , can I change back to the 2001 engine ? Which is the N40 I think ? Some people are telling me that I can't change back

@@sein7381 on the 318 e46 after the face lift it will likely be the N42 or N46 engine anything before that will be a M43 variation, but generally with any of the 3 series engines it's almost always a straight swap only needing the ECU and maybe the loom. It's not a hard job but no where near as a pain in the arse as trying to put a 5 series engine in which is a popular way to go.

@@sein7381 But even with the N42/46 if you're having idle issues best places to check are the Boot intake rubber between the MAF and Intake ( clean the sensor too), check the Throttle position sensor, check the Crank case vent and pipes, but any problems with the idle generally comes down to an off fuel trim so best way to start with that is see if you can get it hooked up to a laptop so you can measure the fuel trim to see if it's positive or negative and go from there.

My 318i goes in 9,4sec to 100

@@KickdownGermany no he meant the engine there are 2 versions of 318i the M42 engine (produces 116hp) and N46 engine (produces around 146hp)

@@hurzlugurzludugudrobus-dou8561 trotzdem ist das schalten echt schlecht. Er schaltet bei 5.700 u/min teilweise und da hat er nichtmal die leistung erreicht. die sauger von bmw sind auf drehzahlbegrenzer ausgelegt, man MUSS die sauger ausdrehen

@@iGravityTV das video heist ja auch "318i top speed drive" und nicht "318i 0-100 acceleration". Dementsprechend hat der fahrer vermutlich nicht so viel wert darauf gelegt eine besonders gute 0-100 zeit hinzulegen. Ich mein, wenn du im alltag rumfährst, drehst du ja auch nicht alle gänge immer bis zur nenndrehzahl aus.
