Exactly a band only people from a certain generation will know, 90's Baby's like myself know this song specifically
We will never, ever be able to imagine how tired they are of playing this song, and yet they still kill it.

It’s better then having to hide and sing mr Jones for the counting crows.
One chord progression the entire way through the song....and it ended up amazing and I can still listen the whole way thru nearly 30 years later. Epic.
That boy has got some great lungs and never has a problem hitting every note perfectly! 😉😎
I never realized how musically tight they are. They sound like seasoned pro musicians. The background harmonies never waiver during the chorus even though the lead vocals are free styling all over the scale.
His voice has aged like a fine wine holy smokes it sounds the same as it did 20 years ago!
Dude ain't lost a step. Still sounds as good as he always has.
John Popper is simply a monster talent - oh, man, how he can rip that harp! And what a soulful, powerful voice he has. They're like an act that should have been at the original Woodstock - especially on this song, as it's just so iconic!

i saw a harmonica player compilation a few weeks ago that had some decent players besides Popper, but otherwise i've never even heard another harmonica player in the same galaxy as this guy... just amazing... he makes it sound like a guitar...
20 years later, and Blues Traveler is still rocking this song!

You're lucky to have been a part of them. Look at the "music" I'm stuck with 😖
John Popper was one of the "we need this musician now" situations. He popped up (no pun intended), in a time where we needed cheerful, jam band happiness. This man brought us the HORDE tour.

I saw them at the H.O.R.D.E. Festival with Neil Young, Morphine, Squrrel Nut Zippers, Ben Folds Five, Toad The Wet Sprocket, Big Head Todd And The Monsters, Primus (and a couple other bands I can't remember) on July 17th, 1997 at the now demolished Irvine Meadows Amphitheater. Good times. It's funny because absolutely nobody I knew at the time wanted to go with me to see these awesome bands all in one place (!!!). Oh well, it was their loss because the festival was amazing!

1996 horde festival at the gorge in Washington my friends and I all went to see blues traveler. The band that played before them was one I had never heard of called the Dave matthews band. Fast forward a couple years later and DMB was selling out the gorge by itself lol. that being said I always come back to the mountain wins again.
Had no idea that was a harmonica all these years of hearing this song...he's gotta be the best harmonica player to have ever lived.

He does play a mean harmonica, but I'm only disappointed that can't seem to play the exact version of his songs from years ago. For instance, the Hook solo that he played on the album...he once said in an interview that he "forgot the notes" or something like that and therefore doesn't play it the same. That has always kind of irked me.

I mean this is true talent. Which basically no longer exists which is so very sad to say.
These dudes were bad ass back in the 90s but it is astonishing as to how polished they become over the years. I didn't think a perfect song could be perfected song. Bravo to Blues Traveler and the sound engineering of Jam in the Van.
One of my favorite bands during my high school years! Now it's been nearly 30 years later and I'm still listening to them!!!
As a guitar player, I've seen and played with many virtuoso solists who can really shred on guitar or tear up a keyboard, but John Popper's harmonica soloing by comparison puts them all in their place. There's really nothing like it.
Even when he’s straining himself his singing is amazing
I don't care for this term normally but, "awesome sauce" seems to fit here. Love the harp improvisation and tight beat especially!

This band is so dam cooowl! 🍺😎👍 And great homonica !
I can honestly say this guy is better live than the studio version.
My favorite...I get the runaround way too much. Popper looking good!
Thankfully Popper lost that weight years ago so we can watch this today. I saw them front row at MSG opening for the Jerry Garcia Band in '91. If truth be told, they were better than Jerry that night. And the Hook brings you back...

I had the pleasure of meeting the full band in Charleston, WV and watching their full set. I will say they are amazing performers and great personality's to be around...
This is one of a few songs that I can never get sick of no matter how many times I listen to it.
It's gotta be our mission to make sure no one is missing out on blues traveler

I always forget how much this song rips
I got to enjoy Blues Traveler at Dana Point a long time ago. He was so hot -& the band was smmmmokin! He looked good (healthy) and I got to tell him so after his set. He was genuinely appreciative of my comment. What a glorious time to be 62 years old - the music I have adored has just been incredible. RIP to the many we have lost, but as the cliche` goes: God's got one incredible band in heaven!!
This is a particularly good tune to dance to!
Where are these guys now? This band rules.
This was better than when I saw them in concert back in 2001. Amazing even after all this time.

Hey kudos to John Popper his weight issues are well know and compared to a few years back he has lost of lot of weight!! He is never going to be slim, but he is working on it and sounds great as always!!
Ive never seen someone play the harmonica like that before. Dude is a legend !
"Run-Around" Oh, Once upon a midnight dreary I woke with something in my head I couldn't escape the memory Of a phone call and of what you said Like a game show contestant with a parting gift I could not believe my eyes When I saw through the voice of a trusted friend Who needs to humor me and tell me lies Yeah, humor me and tell me lies And I'll lie too and say I don't mind And as we seek so shall we find And when you're feeling open I'll still be here But not without a certain degree of fear Of what will be with you and me I still can see things hopefully But you Why you wanna give me a run-around Is it a sure-fire way to speed things up When all it does is slow me down And shake me and my confidence About a great many things But I've been there I can see it cower Like a nervous magician waiting in the wings Of a bad play where the heroes are right And nobody thinks or expects too much And Hollywood's calling for the movie rights Singing hey babe let's keep in touch Hey baby let's keep in touch But I want more than a touch I want you to reach me And show me all the things no one else can see So what you feel becomes mine as well And soon if we're lucky we'd be unable to tell What's yours and mine, the fishing's fine And it doesn't have to rhyme, so don't you feed me a line But you Why you wanna give me a run-around Is it a sure-fire way to speed things up When all it does is slow me down Tra la la la la bombardier this is the pilot speaking And I've got some news for you It seems my ship still stands no matter what you drop And there ain't a whole lot that you can do Oh sure the banner may be torn and the wind's gotten colder Perhaps I've grown a little cynical But I know no matter what the waitress brings I shall drink it and always be full Yeah, I will drink it and always be full Oh I like coffee, and I like tea I'd like to be able to enter a final plea I still got this dream that you just can't shake I love you to the point you can no longer take Well all right okay So be that way, I hope and pray That there's something left to say... For you, now Why you wanna give me a run-around Is it a sure-fire way to speed things up When all it does is slow me down Oh, yeah, now Why you wanna give me a run-around Is it a sure-fire way to speed things up When all it does is slow me down

So, so good!
That van is a Motor Coach on a diet like John👍 Is that Pepperoni 🍕 wall paper interior decor🤩
this band is the REAL deal, I rarely like a band at an outdoor show but they killed it. so basically they can slay in a van or a anything you put them in.
