    working at a small Vietnamese restaurant in Louisiana, a guy came in and told me he had $7 to buy something to eat and asked if he could afford anything to eat there and I said yes, and he told me that I reminded him of the bee girl in this video and it made my whole day. when I brought him the food I could tell he hadn’t had hot food in quite some time. I played this song for him over the speaker and it made him so happy. He ended up telling me he was chronically homeless after serving in the military and that this song reminded him of better times. I hope you’re doing okay man, wherever you are. I wish you many warm bowls of Pho and plenty more jam sessions

    This song will always hold a special place in my heart. This was the ringtone on my daughter's phone. It was her theme song as she battled cancer from the age of 14. She passed at 20 and this song seems to play at very special times. A few years after her passing I was helping her favorite pediatric nurse to buy a car. At the moment we closed the deal and shook hands with the salesman, that opening riff played on the dealership's sound system. I just looked at the nurse and said "Jen approves"

    @@dingaiaSadly, I think most of us are part of no tribe, really. I had an experience abroad for a time that I think was exactly what being in a tribe would be like. It was the happiest and most content I’ve ever felt, and it was just obvious that it was how life as a human was meant to be. But it’s not at all a reality for most of us living in the developed world.

    When I got out of the Army, I was watching tv at my dads house. He was a navy veteran, frogman. He sat up in his chair, by the end of the video he was standing and clapping. He watched tv for a week , waiting for the video to come back on. When it did , he jumped and hit " record " on his VCR. I think he wore out that tape. I bought him the CD for Christmas. Some great memories, riding in his car listening to Blind Melon.

    Lol what? What an absolute load of nonsense. It wasn't like that at all, not even _remotely_ - did you somehow forget that other countries exist? You really think people in Burkina Faso or Mongolia were listening to Blind Melon in the 90s? This trendy nostalgia obsession is so infantile, it's like you think 90s U.S. rock music videos somehow represented the way the world actually was, which is unbelievably simple-minded. "The 90s", just like every other arbitrarily-defined decade means such disparate things to each individual person that it's essentially meaningless - all that happened was the Earth revolving around the sun 10 times combined with our entirely made-up dating system - as if 1980 was somehow _innately_ different to 1979 just because the artificially-designated decade changed.

  • @zonesquestiloveunderworld

    @zonesquestiloveunderworld

    @@0Nafod0lol Exactly, these nostalgia-addled fools have absolutely no clue what they're talking about. The 90s was really no different from any other decade except in largely superficial terms like what music genres and fashion styles were popular, and what was popular depended entirely upon location - and even then, there's always a subset of people who have zero interest in "what's popular" and find their own artistic niche. But in the end, it's all just pop culture; none of it had any bearing on day-to-day life except for the most shallow, image-obsessed people - which is probably why current youngsters are obsessed with this completely artificial representation of what "the 90s' was like - which only ever existed in music videos, never the real world.

    What does it mean to be "rejected"? If we have joy, surely sadness will reject us. But if we have enough joy, and other weapons, we can break through the sadness that is holding others down... So maybe... We do make a "fool" of ourselves... Knowing that it ain't foolish at all. Edit: My point is fuck rejection. Reject rejection and sadness with joy and love and peace my brother!

    I saw Blind Melon opening for Lenny Kravitz in Paris in 1993...and Shannon Hoon's energy was so atomic that he blew Lenny right off the stage. The Blind Melon set rocked the house so hard, then Lenny came out all cool and jazzy and he was already outshined by his opening act. I remember thinking at the time that there's no way anyone can blast that hard and that Shannon wouldn't live very long.

I was so impressed with this new person…over time when we discussed our past it seemed like we had gone to all the same concerts and festivals in the 90s… she’s like, I was in the front row of the pumpkins in 98 and I’m like, so was I man! I love my classic rock too and Pink Floyd created arguably some of the best music ever, along with zeppelin and the doors and the animals and more, but I still say the 90s music was better and some of it apparently timeless as well. Cherish those memories with him cuz lemme tell you, one day the potential to create more will be gone a lot more suddenly than you could ever expect. I kept telling myself "ehhhh, I'll find moments to make up for it" then one day he got pneumonia being a heavy smoker his whole life and bam, within 3 days he was gone. whatever small moments you can procure, do so, cuz in the end it's only for your own benefit and trust me without doing so might just hurt you enough to do something stupid.

    These guys brought the 70's to the 90's. They weren't trying either, which is what made them so cool. They just embodied another time and let their music tell that story.

    I had yellow ribbons on my tap shoes just like that when I made a fool of myself at the dance concert when I was a kid. 40 years later I'm doing tap again 🐝

    This song was stuck in my head for 2 years, and I couldn't find it. I remember my older siblings always listening to it when I was just a a few years old. I couldn't remember any of the lyrics, so google search offered no help. Then randomly I find this today, and a flood of nostalgic tears have covered my keyboard.

    Elephant's will do the same as far as accepting into their herd. Females and young elephants, bulls are a different story as some are not so nice.

    Song calms me down, looking at my bloody knuckles... Taking deep breaths of air. Pulling my self out of the grasps of hell. Turning my self around to be normal...... Awesome

    Trust me brother , normal is over rated stay being a fucking monster .It will have to come out again sooner but hopefully later....Just push it down bubbling waiting for it to come out so when it is needed it is there . The old adage " it's better to have a gun and not need it , than need a gun and not have it " . Just because one is a monster he doesn't have to act like one . For the Wold is far better off than the rabbit i would suspect .. Peace Brother keep those knuckles ready mate , but only use when actually needed ....All men have to learn to be a monster first then learn to control it .
