My favorite band with someone who understands us who suffer from mental health issues. Justins voice has saved my life more than once.

Like many of us, you will relate to a lot of Blue October songs. Here's to another day of sobriety.

This song, as a recovering addict with 4 years under my belt, is more real than anyone who hasn't been there either as the addict or a loved one can ever imagine. I honestly wished my loved ones would hate me enough to just leave me in the rearview and take care of themselves. But they never did, and for that I am everlastingly grateful and humbled.

I remember vividly when my son asked me to listen to this song. It began a new understanding of our relationship from his viewpoint. He's a great guy, but has dealt with depression - thank god not any addiction. He tells me now that he will never leave me - that I took care of him and listened when he thought he was losing it - so now, it's his turn to take care of me. He's 35 and still lives with me and does take care of me with my medical, emotional and mental issues. This is an outstanding song and I'm glad I listened to it when he asked me. It isn't my type of music, but what a roller coaster ride it took me on! Thank you, Harri, for not taking it lightly.

This is such an amazing song. Truly touches those of us who have suffered terrible heartbreak! Whether it is from a relationship with another, or a parent. And how he betters himself after. Amazing.

Justin (the singer) wrote this during his darkest time with addiction, the message is a real one from his mother, and the thought experiment was 'what if that was the last message' he ever received. A lot of real emotion in the video as well as that is actually his mom in it ❤ When I heard it in '06, it really hit me hard as a recovering addict... still does. But it's spoken to so many, incredible song. The whole album is 🔥 xo

This song hit hard the first time I heard it. Related to the part of getting sober & then losing my relationship.....still sober 15years.

Great reaction. This band has some really good and emotional music. I'd recommend Feel Again (Stay) "their live version if you look it up it's from 7 years ago" and Fear "I like the studio version of this but the live version is good as well but has a different feel to it" Keep up the good work!

I've listened to other BO songs. Didn't really care for others, but, the cool thing about them is they all sound different. This song touched me in the soul. Seriously one of my all time favorite songs. Makes me cry every time

Normally don't listen to bands like Blue October but after hearing this song I bought their CD Foiled. You can depend on Justin and the band for never sugar coating anything 🎶🎵💚

Glad you got that cd! That is a great one, from a great band. My wife and I each have a copy of that cd in our vehicles. If you haven't heard "Fear " by them yet, it's a definite must listen, as well as Justin's live acoustic version. Stripped down, and very powerful.

The video had the message of the relationship between he and his Mom. The actual song was written for his girlfriend at the time. He was on drugs and had mental health issues and just wanted her to hate him bc he felt that is what he deserved for what he put her through. It is a powerful song and just scratches the surface of the Blue October catalog. So many “goosebump” songs from them.

I've been watching your Queen reactions so I was happy to see you react to Blue October, my two favorite bands :) Great reaction, you were spot on with your interpretation (though his Mother didn't pass IRL). You really need to listen to Blue October live, they are on another level (like Queen live). Anything from the "Things We Do At Night (Live From Texas)" concert in 2015 is awesome. I highly recommend "Blue October - The Feel Again (Stay) (Live Texas 2015)" which is a song about his divorce from his first wife and the mother of his daughter.

Justin and the band are amazing. They really tap into raw emotion for their songs. Every album of theirs is a chapter in Justin's life, so for the fullest effect, I'd suggest you start with their older stuff and work forward. They are also a band that's amazing live.

Harri, love this song and your reactions. Your reaction of Whiter Shade of Pale (live) by Procol Harum was epic! I feel the same way as you do about it. It's heavenly and one of the best live performances in music history!

Most music in the last 60 years is all about love, hate, drugs, sex, violence, depression. Music plays your soul. I personally would not do hard edits. Pause the video more to comment more or KZread might throw a fit. Also I would watch it with lyrics if you can find a copy. You also might need a water mark over the video too to keep KZread happy. As for songs... I like Worry List better from Blue October. It hits hard if you are single dad and is probably in my top 10 songs. If you want depressing listen to Jame's Blunt: Monsters Johnny Cash's cover of Nine in Nail's Hurt is always good. A lot of Eminem songs (not his Slim Shady stuff) like Stan, When I'm Gone, I love the Way You Lie, Mocking Bird, Cleaning out My Closet, Toy Soldiers... There is always Disturbed's cover of Sound of Silence if you have never heard it yet. I could give you some more abstract songs from the 80s and 90s if you want too.
