that was his mother he was listening to her last message to him in the beginning and she never gave up trying to help him through his addiction she loved him no matter what he did or put her through and he always asked her to hate him because he was hurting her bout all I got from it hope that help you understand a Lil better big fan keep doing what you do

Not sure if you’ve done any others from them but go down the rabbit hole, it’s worth it! My fave’s are “Home,” “The Worry List,” “Fear”...and so on, the whole world should hear them. The lead singer Justin Furstenfeld has suffered from addiction and mental health issues, follow his recovery, it’s relatable and so inspiring.

The Grave was a representation of him putting his past where it should be but never forgetting.

I love you, sir. you're the best

Nobody actually died, the recorder symbolized him saying goodbye to his negative past. It was his Mom in the video, however, he wrote the song about an ex.

I do- I haven't gotten mail in about a MONTH. Every time I get mail, I do a POSTCARDS FROM THE EDGE episode of my mail "unboxing" :)

The video is showing his mom dying, but in real life, his mom is alive a d well. Thos song was his apology to those he hurt during a mental health/addiction problem. You might watch "Fear" by Blue October to hear his more healthy look at life. I think you would enjoy/appreciate the lyrics.

So I just found your Blue October Hate Me video and boy do I have personal stories I could share with you. The band gave me their blessing to take their last name after getting out of domestic violence divorce and a very abusive and narcissistic adoption. The song has moved me Beyond an earthquake. I subscribed to you on KZread and I love the humanity you brought to the video.

No one died...he laid the answering machine to rest...the message from his mom in the beginning, as anyone who has suffered from addiction/mental health issues can tell you, is him hiding from the world...you don't want the people who love you to hear/see your pain...nor do you want to see the pain you are inflicting on them....he lays the machine to rest at the end...then the last scene, sitting with his mother having tea....making progress to shake his demons

I think it’s symbolically burins the past. He wrote this about what he put his mother, and girlfriend, through. That’s a real message from his mom, and she is in the video.

This song never fails to make me cry

Justin Furstenfeld lyrics aren't built to talk over, my man. Every word is painting a story colored in emotion. You felt it though. 👍 The grave is putting the past to rest. Getting over regret for mistakes. Allowing yourself to recieve forgiveness so you can begin to heal the circumstances you've caused harm. Letting go of ego. Humility. Grace.

Blue October music is absolutely a big part of my getting sober. If you get a chance, check out "Live in Texas" versions of their songs. In a promotional video, Furstenfeld said of this song: "When you're in a low place, you don't really think about other people, and it's basically an apology to the people you've hurt in the past and giving them advice that maybe you're not the best person to be hanging out with. It's an apology to people I've hurt in the past, and asking for forgiveness. Some of the issues I was going through."

Yes! I love this band!

Im not sure exactly, but i think its about his mother, always helping him through his addiction and him feeling bad with how it was affecting her? He would rather her hate him and be happy, than love him and suffer from his illness. This is one song that i can really relate to though

This song was an apology to his mom, for all the bad things he's done to her in return for him loving himself. This has been my favorite song since I was 6, so ten years now.

I'm a bit late on commenting but but from the beginning to now you can see the diffrence in his music they pretty much represent his life but his new album he's happy to start a new life

By the way. Have you ever had a look at the game Elite: Dangerous? It's a huge Space (Survival) Sandbox and especially immersive with a HOTAS setup (Thrustmaster T Flight HOTAS X is around 40 Dollars and perfect for starters). I can imagine you could quite enjoy this type of game :)

I believe it's primarily because most videos in my reactions will NOT play on mobile devices. Copyright holders do not like them playing on mobile devices, for whatever reason.

Wow, didn't know that. Yes, on the desktop it plays back just fine. Just on the mobile device its showing "Video not available". YT is weird sometimes.

You should consider purchasing a trailer or RV possibly with the GoFundMe donations. I don't know if you have a smartphone but there is an app called offerup and I've been able to use it to buy and sell things easily, including vehicles for cheap and affordable prices. The items sometimes are use but if you could find a good RV for cheap ($5,000) you wont have to worry about bed, kitchen, bathroom or your in laws moving. Hopefully space wont be an issue but its a good idea, hope you consider it.
