I was married to the most wonderful woman in the world for 34 years, I met her when I was 20 and knew she was the one for me. unfortunately she passed away last year from cancer and I know I will never find anyone like her again. I never did drugs or anything but this song reminds me of the love we had for each other.

Count your beautiful blessings. I was in one sided love relationships 13yrs. with a frigid cold person. The next was a Covert Narcissist who kidnapped my son. And I get no help from my government or local state.. International kidnapping is okay if you have a vagina and you are the mother. So yes. Not negating your pain. But i hope you find pure love again as well as myself!

i got clean when this song came out. it’s helped me whenever i got weak or got a case of the “f its”

I was an addict for over 30 years. Got sober every now and then. I would always go back to my destructive ways. One day I just said to my self I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. That was it. 10 years later here I am clean and moving forward everyday. Today I came across this song. It hits home. It is an amazing song that is so true. Thank you for making such a great piece of work. Always remember everyone that is struggling with addiction. THERE IS ALWAYS HOPE FOR YOU. Inside of you is a beautiful LIGHT that wants to shine again. Namaste!

People that find that perfect someone, don't realize how lucky they are. My alcohol abuse left me all alone and lonely. But I'm still here, trying to live in the moment and forgetting and forgiving the past.

Justin has gone through hell and back. Hes lost ppl and found new ppl . he has saved so many ppl with his music.

I can't stop tearing up every time I hear this song, Blue October is my ultimate favourite band of all time.

Beautiful song. Heard the first time a week ago. Can't get enough. Now sober 16 months. One therapist 2 years, another 5 months. Will see both. One asked me the other day that if i could have one miracle, what would it be. I am working on it. I met a girl in high school 42 years ago. I have missed her since. I am working on me and I will continue. I hope to have my angel one day. Peace everyone!

I always think of my ex when I hear this song. She helped me get off pills and even though she's with someone else she's still my angel and I could never pay her back for what she did.

I’m bipolar and I have borderline personality disorder, PTSD among other things. With that said I have very few friends and it seems hopeless for me all too much. However my wife has been by my side through it all. She reminds me that my life is worth something no matter how bad things may seem. I’ve never been on drugs but this song reminds me of her.

I have someone who told me that they, "truly believe I am their angel". Now...our relationship is nothing close to this. Again. Less than 2 months later, It's practically non-existent. Strained. Surface. Distant. I pray for her, daily. For her healing. That she finds herself again. That she will destroy the past demons of her life and embrace the life she deserves. That she will stop allowing the liars of her past to penetrate and manipulate her now. Justin, your songs touch the soul. This song gives me hope that she will find this kind of love...even if it's not me she finds it in.

I wish my ex loved me even just a little over all the yrs. He never deserved my gift. I'm 40 and only now with 3 kids between 14 n 4 on the opposite side of the country. I am finally standing up for myself, I'm also learning to think of myself aswell as my kids. My ex messed me up. He misses out n will never know on what. I will get there eventually. ✌

travis bryann that's awesome, good for you. My ex was down for two years and I would send blue october lyrics in most of my letters to him and on cds in quarterly packages. I would tell him if he really listened, Justin is basically telling his own life story too and how awesome it is cuz he eventually began to heal and grow and... Get back up. I know that was cheesy lol but it's true. I played she's my ride home when I picked him up and we drove away from that sentence and those walls. Home was gonna be played at our wedding. But it never happened, he couldn't leave the past behind. He's with someone else now and I was lucky enough to be blessed with our beautiful baby boy, who's the real love of my life. Doing time is not something so lonely and difficult. You're a strong person for enduring that and I'm glad you had Blue to get u through those times. Take care.

that girl in the vid is sooo naturally beautiful! wow..song was tough...especially as an addict, listening, and watching, and remembering

The reason the video is overly bright and sharp is because it's illuminating the things an addict sees during his downward spiral (colors and things DO take on a decidedly sharp edge when you are high or going through withdrawals). She is lit up because she is his beacon in the dark, and he is literally looking at his salvation. Remember, Justin was an active addict for years and has now been clean and sober for 4 years, yesterday. Heroin is a terrible scourge, and like Oxycontin, it will rob you of the ability to see things around clearly, or feel any type of emotion at all. I guess you just had to have been there to see the truth in the way this entire video was compiled. He is holding the pipe in one shot, and it morphs into earth with worms - symbolizing death if he refuses to get clean; once he realizes that is the situation, the pipe turns into a white feather...symbolizing redemption. I don't think they could have found a better way to shoot this video, and I have been a huge fan since the very early days of Blue October. This video, the one for 'Home', and the one for 'Hate Me' have the most heart and soul poured into them, and are by far and away my favorites out of all their videos. It is a joy, as a recovering addict - 8 years sober on April 2nd - to see this band and this man (Justin Furstenfeld) navigate through life clean and sober, and take such delight in his new life, his wife, his kids, his friends, etc., whereas in the early days all of his songs were about losing his oldest daughter, being an out of control addict, etc. This is different, certainly, than their previous videos, but I believe that if you think about the circumstances surrounding his transformation into a full time husband and dad that doesn't do drugs, you would understand the setting of this video. Also, as a photographer, lighting is key for me, and you can manipulate it to suit your mood or express where you are at a certain moment in time. I think that's what they're doing here. I will say that if you think Blue October has in any sold out' to anyone, you don't know this band or what they're about. Selling out is not in their repertoire.
