One of my sisters was the sweetest lady ever, with the exception of our mother. In her mid seventies, dementia slowly started to settle in. Now she is a totally different person, and is just terrible to some people. Just the total change as what Redzot has said the neighbor has had. Yep, golden years turned to poop! I feel especially bad for her husband. Swell fellow who tried to shoulder tho all by himself till he about collapsed from the wear and tear. Looks all too familiar to me.

It doesn't take dementia for people to turn like that. They might be the nicest people in the world you do something wrong and you are permanently on their shit. I rented a room from a classmate in a house he and his girlfriend had just bought. What they didn't tell me was that his girlfriend's parents and the two grandkids were moving in 2. They also didn't tell me that the father of the two grandkids was a trucker that would show up late at night in his rig park in front of the house and his parents would sit outside MY bedroom window and wait for him to come in at night. So I got to hear the racket of a semi pulling up in front of the house and whatever conversations they were having while they were sitting on the porch waiting for him at night while I was trying to sleep my bed was right on the other side of the window. One night while I was in the bathroom he came in and made a beeline to the bathroom and busted right in while I was sitting on the toilet! I was livid! His mother, upon seeing how angry I was at him, should nothing but hate towards me from that point on. I was upset at her son so now I deserved her Wrath. I moved out after a month. People like that will not change that's just the way they are. Will hold a grudge till the day they die. There's no point in even trying no matter what you do, they will not change. I chalk it up a lot of it to being ignorant, simple-minded.

This is exactly what stalkers do. Petty, weird, unheard of but always instigating and trying to do something to annoy. Then the moment you do anything in return, they'll cry foul and play victim. This is a dangerous woman. She's lost her mind, and likely will not stop this behavior. She will constantly do things to make trouble, while trying to pretend it's all benign, and your reaction is the real trouble. Be very careful. I don't remember what happened with restraining orders, but if you can get one it's one of the best things you can do.

I think the city should put a fence up on both sides of the easment. The city can't even gain access if a private fence is in the wrong location. Problem solved, your property on one side and her's on the other.

  • @borountree4539

I believe the easement, or most if it, is on Redzots property and that it can't be removed from his lot as that would make his lot significantly smaller than the smallest lot size allowable by law for that area. The neighbor mistakenly believes that the easement should be divided evenly between the two properties irrelevant of the property bounderies. This might possibly be true in some circumstances but not when it would reduce one of the properties to an illegally small lot size preventing it from ever being sold in the future and causing problems with property taxes.

@@borountree4539 - I think, she thinks she found a loophole. She thinks she can increase the size of her property because of the drainage ditch. She couldn’t build it on the property line so she went on his side to put her posts in and is now pretending that she had no other choice. If she put her fence up on her side the posts would actually take up part of her property thus making her lot smaller. She has convinced herself it’s okay.

@@redzot watching this debacle has brought back very old memories of an old neighbor conflict my Dad had with a caustic old bastiche on the other side of the alley in my hometown. That guy was big, and fat, and NOT in a healthy way,,, but he fancied himself as bad news. And he always taunted my kindhearted Dad, who never engaged in the ugliness. I learned back then, how to seethe with hatred for anyone who would hurt my loved ones. That was 1974. I was 8 years old. He yelled at me too sometimes,,, and I was a very timid kid, at 8. But I started wrestling in 8th grade,, and in 9th grade I went from 5' 7" to 6' 2" and with powerlifting,,,, I got big myself. When I came back to town after 6 years in my Mom's custody out of state,,, I was totally someone else. He didn't recognize me. I joined the fire department when I came back home. In my professional life, I did machine work for the local hydroplane team. His son, became a customer of mine. One fateful weekend his son was injured in a wreck and I was on the jaws of life extricating him from a vehicle that was badly crushed. The guy was so thankful for his son's survival he had to talk to us on the extrication squad. He asked each of us our names. I slowly stated mine. And I stood 2" taller than him and I had a 58" chest and 19" biceps. He considered my name and asked who my Dad was. I pointed to the picture of the members of the fire department. It dawned on the guy who I was in 1974. He actually swallowed hard. And got watery eyes. Because he saw me carrying his son to the body board at the incident scene. I had ALLOT of pent up angst about his bullying over the years. I was considering spitting in his eye. But I just intently stared down at him in silence. Then I told him to let his son know we were praying after his speedy recovery. Weeks later, my Dad came to my place and sat down and told me about the strangest thing that happened with that bastiche from the old house up the alley back in '74. Said he showed up at the office and apologized all over himself for all the hate over the years. That guy found out from Dad, about my travels after I left in '74. He kept coming to the firehouse and donating time to help with fundraising for the next few years. Me and his son became friends and eventually his son came to tell me and Dad, that he had been diagnosed with cancer and it was ravenous. He was gone in weeks. It was my turn to have watery eyes, because of how lost his son seemed. He had apologized to me too, many times. I told him I forgave him. I always held my doubts. By the time his son told me he left me something in his will,, my lifelong grudge had mostly gone. Everytime I start his old '70 Sport Fury,, I wonder if he can hear it across the ether.... His son was taken from us by the same kind of cancer a couple of years ago. Hate steals from us more than we can count or measure.

I don’t know anything about the laws regarding property, so I’m asking this question seriously. When you had the survey done of your property line, and she put the fence there, why can’t you just rip the fence out if it’s on your property? Why would you have to go to court to another words prove that the fence is on your property if you already know it is and you had the survey done to prove it. I’m just not understanding why you don’t tear it out. Can someone please explain this to me?

What am I missing? She didn't do anything wrong this time, based on what I see in the video. It isn't like she was blowing clippings from the yard onto the car. She was just trying to get the clipping off of the street like any other civilized person would do.

  • @oresamma9931

She is using the weed eater to fling grass, and other debris towards the car. She is also using the blower for the same purpose. It is not immediately obvious by watching a video of the act, but what this is doing is causing (minor) damage to the sheet metal and paint of the car. Which may not seem like a big deal at first, but when the car starts to rust.....the cost to fix it is significant, and the value of the car is reduced if one tries to sell it on the used market.

I have not been giving Joanne enough credit, I thnk. She is mad, but not at Red, he is just a convenient outlet. I believe she has discovered, after much research, that she can not build on the easement. It will be a sad day when she has to move the fence 8' closer to her house, on the edge of the easement. Have medics on standby. Just speculation, but I have dealt with this kind of issue, as a county drainage equipment operator. Homeowners get angry when the drainage department catches up on long neglected easement ditches.
