That is great. Now I kind of would like a kind of "Behind the scenes" skit of the characters form the show all being in character and talking about the making of the show like they were actors. Chamberlain:You know, it's not easy getting just that right amount of simpering, scheming, and and pondering out of a single hmmmmmm. Took me years to master that. Also seeing the Scientist sharing a beer with the two slaves he had while they talk. Slave 1: Cheers mate! Slave 2: To another great scene! Scientist: Ah I love you guys!

Well I'm not surprised that's kind of who they are. 🙄🙄🙄 There's a joke about that we're Man Ray is the Netflix customer and Patrick is Netflix. Whenever Man Ray talks about wanting to help Netflix make more shows Patrick being Netflix refuses. This is not the first or last time they've ever been in trouble for this. For being a multibillion-dollar company they're the definition of want to make budget cuts all the time. Then again I stopped giving a damn about Netflix the moment they started going pedophilia. Like I'm surprised they didn't even remove that god-awful movie The cuties.

i can’t believe it’s been 3 years. my heart is still so sad that netflix dropped this masterpiece after one season (money will always be a priority and of course, AOR took up a shit ton of money to make) but this show was truly one of a kind. the time, craftsmanship and passion it took to create this show absolutely shows and i still recommend it to anyone that has the time to watch it. maybe one day it’ll find a way to come about a season 2.

​Cgi is more expensive. Its not that it was expensive, its bc its didnt reach the viewer fan base. Each show has to reach a certain amount of views, if they are not reached then the show is cancelled. Its like starting a business , you dont reach that certain number to break even , you are done. As a matter fact , the orginal dark crystal from the 80s , wasn't that accepted either. It was a hit to be known, but it didnt take off like the puppets did. So im pretty sure netfix just revived it and thought it would get more play since they revamped it up. That didnt happen since this type of work its not a widely accepted genre. Also they didn't do any type of promo for this. Promo means ALOT, it had minimum promo, so this show was just revived to honor jim henson in a way Sorry im very passionate about this show and how underrated his work of art was Also this is kinda similar to this other 80s movie called explorer. It was highly underated movies. Kinda goes into this category bc of how odd the movie is( even though its about space) it hold this kind of mystery to it that the dark crystal does. But sadly people dont appreciate good stuff. And hollywood is too busy and greedy for money to honor classics more often@sasukeuchiha8801

I think I already saw this exact comment before in some other post about Dark Crystal.

Puppetry is an art and it's awesome that it got mainstream attention again. They could have went all out CGI for this series, and that was likely discussed, but they remained loyal to the original. Jim Henson would be proud, and this is a beautiful homage to his legacy.

AKwolf-T564 you mean the same series that has a scene of an enraged bird monster brutally punishing one of his silenced (through stitching the mouth) slaves after they rebelled by bashing them with a broken metal lever off-screen with blood splattering on a tiny bird creature while it was watching horrified with the shadow of the ordeal clearly showing each blow then using the slaves remains with the remains of a giant insectoid to create an unstoppable super soldier?

@Annihilus Hunter Still less horrifying then the ship warriors And the Dark Crystal stays true to its genre, Dark fantasy. Why does all of that make it any less wonderful? It gives us an explanation to these unstoppable super soldiers that was glossed over in the original film. The story is wonderful not only because it gives us more insight into the world but the plot and story is great as well! Even if I'm less fond of the Gelfling characters I still like their roles in the story as they bring new elements to the tropes that the characters' personalities seem to be based from. And I live for whenever the Skesis come on screen! I usually don't like the pure evil trope but they are pleasantly evil and their lines are golden! So I don't actually know what you were trying to prove with your original comment. Edit: oh I see, you were proving, why it isn't as pure like I said. I think it's pure in the sense of A) it stays true with its genre B) it's rich and creative C) it's based off of an older thing and had a lot of effort put into it to stay true and to build upon the original. Very sorry if I misunderstood the point you were trying to make in argument to my original comment. I thought you were trying to prove why it wasn't wonderful or something when instead you were argumentint against why it isn't pure. I'm at fault as I didn't reread my own comment and simply looked over the wording.

AKwolf-T564 I believe you misunderstood me My point is that Dark Crystal isn’t pure like some kiddy puppet show but more sinister yet light hearted. Unless I misread your intended use of “pure”. I too enjoyed the origins of the Garthim and like how it ended with the introduction of this previously unknown super soldier.
