I find it hilarious that the people from Kitakami are way more scared by Ogrepon and his trainer than a gigantic bear powered by the Bloodmoon who can kill anything, I don't think anyone other than Perrin mentions him! But still, what a awesome looking bear!

Now that you say it like that, it ACTUALLY MAKES SENSE!! 🤯 I was constantly under the assumption that it was a regional form which, bummed me out because the typing didn't change, but I've been used to regional forms for so long I've completely forgot the possibility of unique forms!

This is really our first CRYPTID Pokemon, we really need more forms like this. Maybe an Hisuian Arcanine that actually lives up to being a legendary, or a Komala who's preference for a giant tree as opposed to a little log has made its slumbering tantrums a little more destructive.

i adore everything about the bloodmoon beast questline. the hisui callbacks, especially the music, getting to see perrin fawn over the absolutely precious poliwhirl, it’s great. i like to think that this ursaluna was the last lord of its domain, maybe not the one we befriended in arceus, but… it’s not impossible. after all, nobody said they couldnt live to be a couple hundred years old…

I'd like to think that this is the Noble Ursaluna that we used to ride. The reason it left Hisui was because humans destroyed its habitat in order to build new cities (Pastoria, Hearthome, Lake Valor Resort). Other Ursaluna eventually died and new ones could evolve because the peat blocks all over Hisui were dug up by humans. Because the Noble Ursaluna was bigger and stronger than others of its kind it was able to survive and eventually escape. It might have had a hatred for the humans that forced it to flee its home, which could be a factor for transforming into the Bloodmoon form.

Honestly I wanted it name to be Bloodmoon Beast, just to diverted from the other Ursalunas. I feel like it has a sub-legendary feel to it like Eternal Folette, and it fixes everything that kinda bother me with Original Ursaluna.

The design of this pokemon seems to be a reference to the anime, Silver Fang - The Shooting Star Gin, which is about dogs fighting a monstrous bear that has been blinded in one of his eyes! Luckily, youtube recommended me the video by kenny lauderdale where I found this info out a few days ago!

You know when the Perrin card comes out it’s gonna be super expensive

Dude i swear man the entire Perrin Sidequest is a pay tribute to Legends Arceus kekw, like we have surveying, stealth mechanic, and one last time hearing the PLA Theme, also getting a random Sinnoh starter from Jacq's gift egg. Mind's eye and Blood moon is cracked, like the ability is like a combination of 3 abilities.

This part of the dlc gave us a good bit of new Pokémon and blood moon ursaluna was definitely in my top 3 Pokémon of the dlc. I hope we get to see Perrin again in the indigo disk I liked her character.

Pretty happy with the amount of Pokémon we got. Considering in Gen 8, Isle of Armor had 4 with Galarian Slowpoke and Slowbro and then Kubfu and Urshifu. Teal Mask now is 8, so pretty good. 😎

This Pokemon is so cool, i do wonder if other Hisuian pokemon are still around in the modern world since Growlithe is still here. So i've heard on the japanese pokemon website it says that Perrin will be in both dlc's can someone check that for me.

Glad you see you aren't lacking in this DLC Rex. The Blood Moon Ursaluna is probably the best thing to come out of Kitakami. Its practically a legendary with its unique ability and stat spread. I can't wait to see how you tame it on camera 😂

This dude’s a bit unruly when it comes to picture time 😅 Wouldn’t have it any other way for a beast.

It’s amazing this Ursaluna is even still alive you do have to wonder just how exactly did he end up here as it’s not explained exactly how this happened other then he somehow crossed the seas to get there (Pokémon Entries do confirm he is from Hisui/Sinnoh but we don’t know the full story of his journey to Kitakami). Additionally we don’t exactly how this Ursaluna got his unique form other then it having something to do with him managing to survive which does make you wonder what exactly happened that caused this transformation. Also what is especially amazing is that this Ursaluna is possibly the last of his kind in the present day since as far as we know no other Ursaluna exist in the modern day, how he managed to live this long I have no idea, all I know is that it has something to do with his unique form.

I can see in the next Gen if they include Ursaluna that the evolution item is a rare variant of the Peat Block called the Blood Peat Block

I was thinking the other day, what if Bloodmoon Ursaluna is the ride Ursaluna from PLA? Would be kinda poetic, reuniting that Ursaluna with us (the actual ppl), but in much darker circumstances, and with neither knowing who the other is

I really liked this side quest and I really loved the nod to Eterna Forest remix and the Hisuian wild battle theme too. Bloodmoon Ursaluna's design is badass I think, I did like Ursaluna in Legends: Arceus but to me that one didn't spark much interest as the Bloodmoon version did, it being one of its kind is what really intrigues me about it.

When I saw that Onikuma translates to Demon Bear I immediately though of the Demon Bear from the X-men comics

Every time I hear Blood Moon I can't help but think of Zelda enemy respawns and resurrections thanks to the Blood Moon mechanic in BOTW/TOTK. I imagine ghost Pokemon spawning alongside this Ursaluna everywhere it travels to.

Blood is definitely mentioned in the Zubat line, and actual blood not "bloodmoon" which is just a reference to color and a rare moon.

Perrin is definitely coming back, you really gunna tell me it’s one appearance and that’s it? Damn, they really be building unova up, colress in aloha, all of this in paldea, like a damn academy? Well at least unova won’t be a remake but a new game thankfully :)

But we expected them to remake Platinum with new gimmicks and actual love for the region like Hoenn got, and instead they outsourced it to someone who practically copy-pasted code from Diamond and Pearl. BDSP actually had fewer features than DP did, for example, the underground secret bases being decoratable. If that pattern continues, we'll have remakes of BW1 with half the endgame routes removed and no black battle tower / white battle tree. Edit: Imagine they drop terastalization immediately and the "blueberry academy" is barely a town. Oh and also TMs are still not reusable.

Do you think This Ursaluna is the Nobel Lord? That could explain why it survived for so long.

The entire time i played this dlc i literally called it "Fnaf in Japan" half of the time And then Blood Moon Ursaluna came up and I thought "WOAH OKAY I WAS JOKING ABOUT THE FNAF THING"

I think this is a new kind of legendary Pokémon: you have to battle it and it has an unique ability no other Pokémon has.

i have reasons to believe that Kitakami is just about north-west of Johto. context: in my headcanon, Johto and Kanto of course is next to each other, while Sinnoh is north of both of them reason: Kitakami kinda reminds me of the Okayama (Chugoku) due to the Momotaro references, although with the surrounding myth with the Stranger Man and Ogerpon, it could also be a sub-region in Johto (cf Beast of Oeyama)

I don't know. I think the evidence points more toward Aomori and Iwate than toward Chugoku. The allusions to Sinnoh (and Bloodmoon Ursaluna swimming from there, implying it's close), the apple orchards, the Ogerpon masks being reminiscent of Namhage masks, real-life Kitakami being in Iwate, all of this suggests Tohoku more than Chugoku. Plus, the theory that Momotaro originated from Okayama, Chugoku, has long since debunked. So, North of Kanto, South of Sinnoh.

Bloodmoon Ursaluna is scary and I love it greatly

after catching i read that its signature attack bloodmoon was a normal type move though and had to do a double take because it still hit my skeledirge who is a ghost and then i read up on its ability

When I got to this battle, I fangirl screamed😅. Legends is my favorite game right now, and seeing it referenced with a song being reused made me so happy. This entire segment had me pressing - to pull up the map a few times lol Edit: grammar

Hisuian growlithe was more of a pearl clan signature pokemon though even if she looks like a descendant of adaman the diamond clan leader

I absolutely love this Pokemon

I wonder if this Ursaluna didn’t change from the original form. Maybe it met the conditions to evolve during a total lunar eclipse rather than just a full moon? Which would make me wonder if there’s a solar eclipse Ursaluna.

I haven’t seen many people talk about or even mention its ability to use fighting and normal moves on ghost types. Also its battle was pretty easy for me since they used calm mind 3 times 💀 anyway, love the design. It’s bad ass. And it looks like a proper evolution to Ursaring if Im honest. Regular Ursaluna was an okay addition but still looks a bit goofy to me.

It's a shame this guy is exclusive to the dlc. I'm not interested in getting the dlc as I wasn't having much fun with the base game and didn't get very far in it, but maybe I'll give it another chance some time as well as sword and shield.
