"Bloodlust" - IL-2 WWII Dogfight 4K Cinematic
Ойындар
A short film that depicts the actions of a 4-ship Spitfire Squadron during the Second World War.
'Riksen' (Red-1 & Squadron Leader), 'Mac' (Red-2), 'Zach' (Blue-1 & Camera Man) and 'Al' (Blue-2) engage enemy Fw 190 and Me 109 fighter aircraft over the skies of Holland during Operation Market Garden.
Through the lens of 'Bumper-Blue-1', this film takes you on a combat sortie from Deurne Airfield (Antwerp, Netherlands) into the region of Eindhoven, NL in an attempt to cover the airborne ground troops that landed the previous day.
The video for this film was captured from a flight against other human pilots in a WWII flight simulator called "IL-2 Sturmovik" - in a Multiplayer server called "Combat Box by Red Flight" (www.combatbox.net). Most of the world audio was captured from the 'DCS World' flight simulator.
Soundtrack "Bloodlust" written and recorded by NEATOSIMS (Zach Lamothe) and Jeff Valentini - Jeff volunteered 100s of hours into making this video the best that it could be. We had done several 10+ hour shifts (often fueled by single-malt Scotch) dissecting every moment of the movie to make sure that the audio complimented the picture the best that it possibly could. He always had my specific vision in mind and diligently channeled his musical knowledge, talent and passion into this project to the nth degree. I can't thank Jeff enough for the help making this film the best that it can be! Drop by his Sound Cloud if you'd like to hear more from his profound and diverse library: / jeffvalentini

EXCELLENT ! MERCI. On s'y serait vraiment crû et c'est la première fois que je le vis avec ce sentiment. En même temps je comprends mieux les interviews des anciens pilotes. 👍👍👍👏👏👏
Great job on this cinematic masterpiece!
This is so cool. I don’t have a PC but I wanna get one and get all the sim gear to play this. Looks sick as hell

@@NeatoSims Of the handful of us that just picked up Sturmovik, only 3 of us have VR and they're 8hrs behind me. (Damned timezones!) "Pancake" lads obviously having issues, so we're thinking of doing the "bomber crew" mod thing, with one or two of us as escort fighters to bring in the boys who are without the VR advantage. -Which I must say is FREAKIN' AWESOME!!! Would love to see you boys against another team with a counterpoint video to yours!

@@capnkit VR IS freakin' awesome and I'm always pushing it to Squadron mates that aren't using it! Although VR does have its advantages, I find that the guys that are using TrackIR with a mega screen are the ones that are confidently identifying planes from much further away than the VR folks.. so it seems to have its disadvantages as well. Yes the next cinematic I'd like to create out of a flight where we don't do nearly as well and faceoff against larger formations of enemies - stay tuned!
What a masterpiece! I don't even wanna know how much time and work you put into it. Thumbs up for this great movie! This is the best advertising this game can get! I'm looking forward to future projects from you.

Thanks so much for the kind words, Knipser! A lot of love was put into this one for sure!
You've got some nice camera angles man. And also great work on composing those soundtracks. I had to edit this again. I was just Impressed by how immersive the soundtrack was in combination to the scenes. Everything's just well put out and immersive from the scenes of taking off, hunting down planes and shooting down planes. Every scene has a different experience just from those soundtracks. Really well done.

Wow thanks so much, Ernest! Really appreciate the feedback here - we certainly put a lot of love into the soundtrack sequence by sequence so I'm really happy to hear that it's helped with the immersion
Good work all round, keep it up!
Great, just great video! Your communication on radio is solid, though it is clear you guys have your main experience from modern jetfighter fights. The expressions used on radio during ww2 were slightly different, but no matter. Very entertaining.
@NeatoSims

Thank you very much, sir! We have no experience in modern jet fighters as we fly exclusively WWII warbirds; however some of our tactics and communication techniques are likely borrowed from other eras of dogfighting.
The default skins are gargabe, wish those you show would came with the plane!. Speaking about the video, nice editing!
Top production effort! Well done! Great teamwork in the sky as well.

Great job Man, Amazing!
Fun to watch, good team works and comms. Since you have a center mounted stick I would suggest you offset it a 10 of 15 degree to the left so you have your right hand rest more natural. It less painful of the wrist and will increase you precision. Thanks for sharing this ;)

Thanks for watching! Re: the center-mounted stick; that is excellent advice, although since the time of making this video I have changed sticks (The VKB Gunfighter) with a stick extension - and I couldn't be happier with how it's set up! I would imagine that it looks painful twisting that short Warthog grip around in the video with it in the very center but I've been able to update my setup since then!
That was nice!!!
EXTREMELY WELL DONE!

Great video.
P.S - Incredible music! Hat's off to Mr. Vallentini, and Mr. Lamothe. BIG contributors. Keep those guys happy to volunteer. So...keep em in the Scotch, and their minds off any additional perks they may realize they deserve.
Great video. A little too chatty, though, and no stress in their voices.
Whoa, NeatoSims guy. I was probably your first subscriber and your channel has gone from simple demo's to a dramatic series! I don't even play the game, but really want to start. It's just w/ my guitar addiction (and the cough syrup) I can't even afford a Hotas...yet V.R, or not I want in. You have totally turned me on to the Spitfire too. I just wish they would do a proper Battle of Britain (the most incredible battle of WW2!). I would love to see that. As your number 1 fan, I would love to see a another Ground Support mission like the last vid, which was intense! Based on what I'm seeing in this vid that would be infinitely more exciting than the last. This is your best vid yet. (Am I seeing a pattern?) Glad to see you back. Bell still clicked, as always. : Thank you for your service, and God speed, little doodle ;)

Whow thanks, Terry! You really gotta get into this at some point, it's a freakin blast! What about the Spitfire are you finding more attractive these days? I'm glad to hear that you're coming around to it because it's my favorite WWII warbird and it really is amazing to sim/fly. IL-2 "Cliffs of Dover" is releasing VR capability soon and I'm beyond excited about it because it's a complete Battle of Britain package... I'm really hoping that the video editing aspect of that sim is comparably as robust as IL-2 "Great Battles" because I would absolutely love to do a BoB thing, as well as another ground attack mission and also something in the Mediterranean / North Africa! Thanks again for the kind words and you'll have to make me a soundtrack item soon ;)

@@NeatoSims I wouldbe honored, on that last point. I've done a couple of soundtracks, but more of a, "hand-off", than "hands on" like on this vid. As for the Spitfire. It was actually your channel. Even as a Canadian I found myself more attached, and interested in the U.S and their weapons. Kept seeing you in a Spitfire, and it piqued my interest. From their you start hearing more about the RAF, and RCAF and inevitably, "Wow"! (Plus, those guys got more chicks than Bill Wyman - LOL [couldn't resist]). P.S - All 3 of those plans for vids sound great. The Mediterranian is terribly neglected.
Nice!

One of the best IL-2 videos I’ve ever seen. You did a fantastic job of capturing what the experience is like. Didn’t read the description until after, but heard a call out from Maniac 1 on the radio and knew right away you were on Combat Box. I don’t see any info in the description about your VFG. I assume you guys are in a virtual fighter group, correct?

Wow thanks so much CueBall! Really appreciate that. Ah yes great point about the VFG - I'll update the description with info on that and a link to our Discord/site. I'm involved with a few VFGs for different sims but this particular sortie was run with 41 Squadron RAF: www.41squadron.org/
Sweet... how much for the VR setup?
@NeatoSims
2 жыл бұрын
Thanks Euan - It was about $1500 back when I'd bought it so pretty expensive; however there are great headsets available now like the Reverb G2 and the Quest 2 that are much cheaper with a comparable resolution
While I will agree that it is a nicely done film and you are to be congratulated on it, I do have a few of questions to ask as maybe I misunderstood the lead in. Were the pilots of the German aircraft also real live people or AI? If they were live then they were not of the quality of the Spitfire pilots to be sure. The Spitfire pilots seemed to be military pilots of the present, either active or non active, based on the jargon used. Why were the German aircraft all flying solo or at most maybe two together? Pretty easy prey for a couple of squadrons to take them out. Although I am fimiliar with Operation Market Garden I am not a student of its finer pionts. What were the air statistics of that battle? If I recall correctly the allies lost Operation Market Garden. Some how I think it is probable that the German may have held their own in the battle. Just curious, no insult intended toward anyone. As I stated earlier, entertaining , nice film presentation. H.R.Weyer

Hi Harry - Thanks so much for watching; great questions as well. The German aircraft were also piloted by human players as well; however you are correct, and the best answer I would have is that we got lucky to catch a couple of aircraft on their own (I'm not sure whether they were with a Squadron and RTB or if they opted to go out solo). This gave us a great advantage in all of the scenarios in this film. Lastly, the Operation Market Garden aspect was the base 'scenario' for the flight (location and ground objectives) and was by no means meant to represent an accurate depiction on what air combat would have looked like during the operation. Thanks again and take care!

@@NeatoSims Thanks for answering my questions, it is most appreciated. Your answers cleared up my concerns and clarified the nature of this particular scenario. Somehow the lead in made me think this was an organized re- enactment, similar to the events I flew in, " ROF: The First Great Air War" . I was mistaken. Best regards, Harry Weyer
